Year 3254 - Three thousand years have passed since the widespread influx of energy. Three thousand years is enough time for all the old vestiges of past civilizations to be wiped away. Due to the daily threat of total obliteration, every able bodied person is dedicated to the defense of humanity's last stronghold. Everyone trained to increase their levels, causing technological advancements to become stagnant. But one of the main advancements were the establishment of the basis of professions and level, and now, after enough time, there are now higher-leveled people that are able to keep the monsters from breaking through the walls.
Now, as their daily lives stabilize and the threat of invasion is kept away, people can begin to study their surroundings instead of killing them. The decrease in tension leads to more overall contentment within the population, so the population skyrockets. However, being trapped is not a path that they can sustain as they need more and more space for their ever so growing population.
The relations between the unmutated humans and the other races also grew worse with every passing day, as Aitkon, the country of humans, believed themselves to not need the help of Aliviara, the country of elves, or the help of Jrahru, the country of dwarves, to assist in defending the borders of their land.
Six students of the same college, finally free from the monotony of school, explore the wilderness near their town, hoping to make a quick buck from monsters defeated and left behind by stronger fighters. It's the anniversary of the Last Stand of Mankind, so the students were let out while families all over Lunera gathered to celebrate the survival of their ancestors.
Deep within a forest that formed the no man's land between the territories of the monsters and the humans, a group of six friends rest near an open fire, as it crackles for more fatty juices from the meat hanging over it. Sharing a large bounty of a couple of rabbits, six friends chat happily during their freedom from school.
"Hey give me some of that, you can't just hog it!" yelps Elena reaching for the last piece of rabbit meat.
"NO, you already ate enough, it's only going up anyways!" countered Mariana, stepping away from Elena while finishing the meat. Everybody else decides to sit by and watch, not wanting to offend either girl, as they argue.
Elena, clearly pricked by the last comment jumps onto Mariana, and together they roll around until the last bit of meat lies dirty, in a ditch filled with mud. Mariana, not able to finish the delicious rabbit leaped back onto Elena, and started to pull her hair without thought but from anger.
"Stop fighting, we can hunt for more," said David trying to alleviate the situation.
As they got up ready to leave, Karl looked up into the sky, and blinded by the sun looked away. He had felt something off about the weather today, but he didn't know how to tell his friends, so he tried to ignore the feeling of worry as he left with his companions deeper into the forest.
"Wow look there's more Tint grass," says Robert, already dashing towards it. Tint grass, being a product used by royalty for tea, it was heavily treasured in their town as each kilogram was worth seven Suneros.
In the grass, a tiny light sparkles in the emerald eyes of a creature, David barely notices in the corners of his eyes, and as he squints his eyes to get a closer look, he saw a long thing slithering its forked tongue while it lazily watches Robert running closer.
"Wait! STOP! STOP! Robert STOP!" yelled David, "SNAKE!" but it's too late; under the grass lies a Tint snake, and in an instant, it leaps towards Robert in an attempt to bite Robert's neck.
Robert, with David's warning suddenly realizes the snake is there, but Robert with his reaction speed had already noticed the snake, so he whips out his knife and stabs down at the snake, killing it in one move. "Haha, so weak, only you David ONLY YOU would get so scared of a Tint snake; it's only has an average monster level of 5, I don't need your warning!"
"Robert, you don't need to be so mean, David was just trying to help!" counters Mariana, glaring with eyes of death at Robert.
"Well, I didn't need it, I can fend for myself."
"Just be careful!" replied David, beginning to collect the Tint grass. After a few hours, they had finished collected all of the Tint grass, raking in roughly a hundred kilograms of grass.
"We are going to be rich, even after splitting it six ways, we'll still have more than a hundred Suneros each." says Elena, extremely excited from the amount of wealth as it is enough to pay for food for a month.
"NOT WE, I WILL BE RICH; I found the Tint grass, so I'm keeping 90%; you guys can keep the rest," yelled Robert, grabbing the bags of grass. Jameson grabs one of the bags, and looking into Jameson's eyes, Robert says "HEY, what are you doing, didn't you hear what I SAID!"
"Bb-but-tt, we all help-ped to col-lect it." says Jameson, trying to back off while shaking from fear. At this moment, as Robert slowly walks toward the frozen Jameson as rain pours down on them from the dark, pitch black clouds.
As rain drenches them, Robert pulls Jameson's shirt and face only an inch away from his own, and staring down into his eyes yells "I'M TAKING THE GRASS!" while the rain hides the saliva covered face of Jameson. Robert pushes Jameson into a hole of mud, and taking the bags of grass starts to walk away.
While this all happened, Karl watches the sky, as it gets darker and darker while it reaps the light away from the sky. As rain continues to wet their bodies, all of them could only watch as Robert takes their earnings away from them. Elena cries while Mariana holds her, not knowing what to say to comfort her as she was also slightly depressed. Karl, once again, looks up at the sky, and sees a light, shining down like an angel falling down from the sky.
But it wasn't an angel, it was lighting. The light glows brighter and harder to continue to stare at, so Karl squints his eyes. The lighting strikes them, managing to impact all five of them, and without even time to scream, their eyes are blinded, as they fall unconscious from shock.
