Chapter 5: Care to comfort me?
Inside the comfort room, Ema is still having the butterflies in her stomach and can't explain the feeling inside her. This is the first time she felt something like this. She is not having any romantic relationship in her life and still have a life to work out with. "What the hell is wrong with me? I definitely have a serious problem now." she said after looking at the mirror with her cheeks red. "I need to get out of this office fast. Oh my stomach is not doing well either. I never expect Daniel to be such a wonder to look at. The face says it all, I wonder if his attitude is good also?" she said while pampering her red cheeks with her cold hands.
After Ema have taken a hold of herself inside the comfort room, she went outside and found no one at sight. "Good thing that his not here anymore." she said in relief. She went to the door and was about to open it when suddenly the door open. "Eh... Um.... Daniel.." she said being unsure of what to say in front of a man that was totally out of her league. "Oh, Ema still here? Are you feeling okay? Your cheeks are so red. Feeling hot?" said Daniel in a tone that is worried. But to Ema that tone of voice can let the hot more hot. "Eh... Um... I... I... am ...mm... okay." she said while looking directly at the eyes of Daniel.
"That's good to know." Daniel said as he make way for Ema to pass through the door. But Ema was still staring at the face of Daniel that she forgot to move. "Ema? Still there? Are you sure you're okay?" Daniel said to Ema that still looking at his face. Daniel seem to know why Ema is still blocking the door with the purse at hand. Daniel have pat the shoulder of Ema to wake her up from the spell that he have mostly on women. Every time women look at his face, they seem to have a world of their own. It seems like Ema is one of them as Daniel to once more touch the shoulder of Ema to bring the girl to reality. "Uhm... I better get going.. bye... thanks.." Ema said as she was in reality again and realized that Daniel tap her shoulder twice. The worst realization is that she is still blocking the door to the office of Daniel. "Oops... ehmm.. sorry.." she said as she stepped forward and going to the elevator.
Inside the elevator, Ema can't believe that she just get stuck there for a moment and have a scene with the CEO of the company that she's having a part-time job. The job that Ema have is just for exposure and also learn how to blend in with the other co-workers. But in the end, she still is alone and did not mingle with any of her co-workers. She just stay at her cubicle and doing office work. Typing the letters for a document for meetings, projects, presentation and many more to mention. Ema like her part-time job because her co-workers is just minding their own business and seems not to know her existence. Except of course with a smile or a nod with a hello or a goodbye that can be exchange in going inside the office building and leaving the office building.
Ema arrived at the 4th floor which is the working area of part-time job employee of the company. They are separated in order to be comfortable and not be intimidated by the regular employee of the company. Only the manager that visits sometimes over the floor can enter and give them duties to do. Upon sitting on her cubicle, she still wonder about the face for the first time she lay eyes upon is like a magnet. Still every time that Ema thinks of the face she feels hot and have butterflies inside her stomach. She even have butterflies in the stomach upon hearing the voice. Ema just thinks to herself "what a fool I am to Daniel". She try to divert her attention to work and checking for the workload that the manager have loaded in her email. But to her disappointment there is no workload that the manager assign to her.
Ema try the internet and check for the school for college that she will be going to. Also Ema is trying her best to be prepared to be alone without her parents to be there to check on her. She also think that this is a good thing that her part-time job will soon be over. The better because she will no longer see Daniel. While still browsing the internet, she also check the website "Friendlies" and try to search friends there that can be a true friend. Upon browsing she happen to find a familiar face among the search list. "Nice one! Doing some serious work there Ema." said the manager at her back. "Oh! Good morning, manager I was just checking a website and happen to find someone familiar among the list." she said in a shy way to the manager. "Hehehehe... It's okay Ema. Company allows our part-time employees to slack when there is no workload available. By the way the CEO ask you to let your mama be on time for the meeting later. I presume you will go also since the meeting is about the family with business. It is a meeting with all the part-timers as a way of farewell party also. Good luck at college, Ema. I wish you all the luck." the manager said with a sincere smile for Ema and the manager have already move on to the next cubicle to chat with the other part-timer also.
"Meeting? Farewell party? later? what???" as Ema is thinking to herself. This is not good and I am not ready yet to face Daniel after what happened earlier. She tried to call her mama on her phone but there was no answer on the other line. "It only means mama is busy again. What will I do now?" she said to herself quite concern about what will be the next reaction that Daniel can see on her later. She is still worried until she have went to her home. This is the life Ema have school to home before, but now work to home. Soon enough it will be work to school all by herself and no one to talk to. "What a boring life it is , hm I better have a nightlife after I have move to the dormitory at college." as she thinks to herself.
