Chapter 10: Chapter 10:The Endgame
Before my 20th birthday, Mr.Arnold told me that the World Chess Organization Call him and they want me to joined the World Chess Competition. the one who call him said that if i manage to pass and win against all the competitors, i will become a Chess Grandmaster. So i decide to grab that opportunity to fullfil my dream. We have two weeks to train harder before the competition. I always think that i can be and i will be a Chess Grandmaster and finally, this is my chance to prove myself. All the competitors is from around the globe so this thing wasn't a piece of cake for me. I train hard with the help of Mr. Arnold and 2 days before the
competition, Mr.Arnold told me that i am ready for the final battle of my career. in this competition i am the one who dictates my fate if i will become a Chess Grandmaster or not?
On the day of the competition, Mr.Arnold told me that i should be careful on one competitor named Alexander Kasparov, who is the best Grandmaster of Russia because of it's deadly traps and pinning moves. He also said that i should remain calm so that i can think clearly to avoid bad moves. as the game start i see the face of my opponents like a miner looking for a mineral because all of us also want to become a World Chess Grandmaster. We started to sit on our chairs and shake hands to my opponent. i manage to get into the final round against the 5 opponents across the globe. and finally, i met Alexander Kasparov. he is very tall and his aura is very confident.
when he looked at me, he started to laugh because of my appearance but i didn't lose hope that i will win. the facilitator start to arrange the Chesspieces into their proper tiles and Kasparov Choose the white piece and started his first move. the whole room was filled in silence and all of the people around us was very nervous of what will be the outcome of our game. after several minutes, Alexander was still very confident and because of that, he didn't notice my tricky little trap that cause a big trouble for him. Kasparov lost his queen and he started to become anxious and nervous because he lost the important piece. then i remain calm and execute a good moves but Kasparov started to execute a bad moves that result for him to lost all of his official and because of that, Alexander Kasparov Resigned in the game and I'm declared as a Chess Grandmaster on that time. my tears began to fall because my dream came true. Mr. Arnold was very happy for me because of my victory and after that day, I visit the grave of my father because that is my promise to him, that i will never visit his grave until i become a World Chess Grandmaster. I came back to my home in Portland,Oregon and start a normal life. many people asking why i'm always humble despite of all the achievements and titles that i got but i always told to them also what Stephen Hawking said "People who boast about their IQ are losers" and that's my story on how i become a World chess Grandmaster from a Neophyte. i hope that you got a lesson on my story. well i got to go because i'm gonna be late to my work.
