'Yawn'
"Are you okay?"
Kei asked with concern as he saw Ren yawning the fifth time today.
"I am okay, just a bit sleepy."
Ren said that but Kei didn't believe him seeing his droopy eyes. Ren seems like someone who hasn't slept for a week.
His eyes has dark circles under them and he was barely able to open his eyes.
"Did you not sleep the whole night?"
"No, I did sleep although it was for only two hours."
"What was you even doing the whole night."
"I, I was playing games."
Ren said as he made a excuse. He didn't wanted to tell Kei that he was writing the whole night.
He had decided to keep it a secret until he at least got a publisher. He has just started writing a novel. It will be too early to tell anyone.
"You are playing games the whole night?"
"Yeah, I found a interesting one."
"Amano, Kenzaki, what are you two whispering about!! Get out of the classroom if you want to talk!!"
As they were whispering among themselves, the teacher saw it and scolded them. They were in the middle of a class and the teacher was angry when he saw them whispering during class.
"Ah, sorry!!"
They both quickly apologised and lowered their head.
"Let's talk later."
"Yeah."
After being reprimanded by the teacher, they didn't talk again but Ren was feeling sleepy again.
'I should buy a coffee later.'

After class, Ren went to the vending machine to buy some coffee. He felt like he would fell asleep anytime if he don't have some coffee.
He didn't have good sleep for many days. For the last few days, he was working hard to write his novel.
He had spent all the nights writing and he has now completed almost half of the novel.
'I only have 500 Yen left.'
After buying the coffee, Ren noticed that he only had 500 Yen left in his pocket.
Ren sighed as he looked at the money in his hand. Due to buying books, he had spent almost all of his pocket money and now, he only had a meagre amount left.
He first thought of doing a part time job but he didn't have any time for a part time job.
After school, he spent almost all his time to write his novel. It was tiring but he was never bored writing his novel.
His parents also wouldn't agree with a part time job. He was in his third year of high school. How can they agree to a part time job when the university exams are next year.
As he was thinking about that, Ren reached the rooftop.
He was thinking of drinking his coffee on the rooftop to refresh his mind.
Even in his previous life, he would often drink his coffee on the office's rooftop. He don't know why but he will feel refreshed when he did that.
As he came close to the terrace, he noticed that there was someone else there.
It was someone Ren hadn't meet for a week.
Ren even thought of turning back after seeing him but before he could do that, the man turned back and noticed Ren.
"I didn't thought I will see you here, Amano-kun."
"I also didn't thought you would be here, Nakai sensei and you even are smoking."
Ren said as he glanced around the cigarette in Nakai sensei hand.
"Do they allow smoking in the school?"
Ren asked Nakai sensei but he simply smoked his cigarette and said.
"No, it isn't allowed."
Ren also thought so. Smoking and drinking were prohibited in the school especially for teachers.
"So, why are you smoking? Don't you be in trouble if you are caught."
"Well, I will be in trouble but you know teaching students is really a stressful job. I couldn't continue it if I don't smoke out my stress. I would have resigned from this job if it wasn't for my livelihood."
When Nakai sensei said that, Ren had a weird expression.
First of all, no teacher would say that kind of thing to a student and Nakai sensei was even making a face like he was in some sort of agony.
Ren felt that Nakai sensei was getting even weirder. At first, he told Ren to write a novel and then, he told him how stressful the teaching job was. He was even caught smoking by Ren.
'He really is a weird teacher!'
The more Ren saw him, the more weird he felt. Ren felt that he was rather unique.
"Are you here to drink that coffee?"
Nakai sensei asked Ren as he glanced at the coffee cup in his hand and Ren just nodded in answer.
"You are rather mature for your age."
"You think so?"
"Yeah, most of the high school students can't drink a coffee."
"Really."
After that, there was a awkward atmosphere. No one said anything.
Nakai sensei simply smoked his cigarette while glancing at the sky while Ren started drinking his coffee while leaning on the terrace.
'There sure are lots of couple there.'
The rooftop gave a clear view of the school, so Ren was able to see many couples out there eating lunch together.
Some were holding hands while some were feeding each other. It was a sweet but cringe view. As someone without a girlfriend, Ren can only curse his luck of being single.
'It's been at least 20 years since I had last dated.'
In his previous life, Ren had only dated when he was famous. At that time, the campus queen in his university has confessed to him and he had gladly accepted her confession.
He would have been a fool if he had rejected. They dated for a year and it was a good time but they later broke up when Ren's novel failed.
He also dated a few girls after that but his continuous failures led him to depression and he didn't date anyone after that.
As he was thinking about his dry love life, he heard Nakai sensei voice.
"Do you like reading novels?"
"Huh?"
It was a strange question again but Ren still answered.
"Yeah, I like reading novels."
Ren answered honestly. There was no reason to lie about it.
"What kind of authors did you like?"
"Ah!!"
It was again a strange question. Although it was strange, Ren still answered as it would be rude to reject a teacher.
"Hase Kou, Nagami Yuu and Jane Wright."
Those three were the authors of the book Ren had read after coming to this world. He had quite liked their books and had bought their other books but his money had depleted before he could buy all of their books.
"I thought you will like them. Your writing shows that."
"My writing shows that?"
"Yeah, someone's writing will ultimately show a side of their favourite authors. Your writing definitely show the quality of those authors."
"You noticed that after reading my essay?"
"Yeah, although your essay was short, it sure had sides of the authors you like."
"You noticed that…...."
'Ring!'
Before Ren could continue the conversation, the bell rang and interrupted their conversation again.
"It looks like the bell will never let us continue our conversation."
"You think so. Well, I will go to my class now."
As Ren exited the rooftop, Nakai sensei was still smoking his cigarette.
While smoking he quietly muttered to himself.
"Crap! I forgot to tell him not to tell anyone about me smoking. He will not tell anyone right?"
