Chapter 21
Title: Athena…
….
Haruto looks at Athena smiling. "So you are not gonna pull a Medusa right?"
"Hm?" Athena looks at him with a confused look on her face, and then she giggles. "No, of course not."
Haruto once again, was unsure if she was telling the truth. She said 'No of course not' meaning that at least she won't turn Rias into a monster out of jealousy. But that doesn't mean that she won't kill Rias or do anything else. He had been with Athena for years now, he understands just how cruel and vindictive she can be.
*sigh* "Athena… don't do anything to Rias okay?" Says Haruto, his gaze neutral as he looks at Athena's amused eyes.
"Hehehehe…" Giggles Athena as she takes another bite of Haruto's food as he feeds her. "Don't worry, I won't hurt her in any way… or do anything to her. What do you take me for? Some kind of monster?"
Haruto only blinks twice as he looks at her, not wandering. Athena's eyes twitched at this. "Why you!!!"
He doesn't let her finish as he fills her mouth with another bite of food. "Do you like it?"
"Uhuh." Hums Athena with an annoyed look on her face. For a goddess, she can be surprisingly petty sometimes. "You have gotten better at cooking."
As Haruto hears that he nods. "Well, practice makes perfect. Plus I wanted for you to like what I make and not just say that you like it."
What he didn't say was that Rias made the food, but he knew that Athena would be hysterical at that if she heard it.
'She has a weird thinking process.' Ponders Haruto. 'She doesn't necessarily mind if I sleep with another woman for sex, but if I do something like cook for another woman or express love for them, she will be hysterical.'
Haruto then remembers what Athena told him when she decided that he was someone she wouldn't mind loving. 'She doesn't care about my physical looks or actions that I do, what she wants is my heart.'
She wants his love, that is all that there is to it. To someone like Haruto that is strange, but to Athena it makes all of the sense in the world, she is thousands of years old, she knows that someday, Haruto will get older, he will wrinkle and rot physically. To her that doesn't matter at all, what matters is that she will love him for him, not his physical appearance.
"How is your health?" Asks Athena, her look now serious, no longer worrying about Haruto's infidelity with other women.
"Good." Answers Haruto, casually as he takes a bite from his lunch box, Athena extends her hand and he sighs as he gives her the chopsticks and she starts feeding him.
"I told you that keeping that thing inside your body will kill you." Says Athena as she has difficulty using chopsticks and has a concentrated look on her face.
Haruto smiles at that and extends his hand. Athena sighs in disappointment at that and gives him his chopsticks back, with a disappointed look on her face. But she cheers up once again as Haruto starts feeding her.
"That thing wasn't made to be kept inside the human body." Advises Athena once more. "It will devour you from the inside."
Haruto shrugs at that. "Well, if I die, you can have my soul. What are you worried about?"
Pow!
A slap lands on his face as soon as he says that. Haruto looks at Athena and sees that she has tears in her eyes.
"Sorry about that." Apologizes Haruto with a sorry look on his face.
"I don't care for your soul or your next reincarnation!" Exclaims Athena, she then gets up and leans over the desk, grabbing Haruto by his collar. "I want you, with your memories and all that makes you... you."
Haruto coughs uncomfortably and points towards the entrance to Athena's office. Koneko and some other girls are looking at them shocked.
Athena blushes at this, the way she has positioned her body and how she has Haruto by his collar indicates a very provocative situation. "The situation is absolutely different than it looks like."
"You said 'I want you' to Haruto -senpai." Says Koneko with an emotionless look on her face. "Anehta -sensei, I didn't know that you and Haruto -senpai had that kind of relationship."
"No, no, Koneko -chan it's not like that!" Exclaims Athena suddenly, with an embarrassed look on her face.
Suddenly a devilish smile appears on Haruto's face and he puts his arm around Athena's shoulders. "That is right, me and Anehta -sensei aren't just simple friends with benefits… we are now in love."
"Kya~" Exclaims one of the girls. "A forbidden relationship."
"That is right." Says Haruto as he puts his finger over his lips, representing silence. "So no one must know about it. Okay?"
The girls gain a blush on their faces and nod. Haruto knows that as first-year high school girls, none of them would be able to keep quiet. But that is what he wanted, for some rumors to spread around, that would be more entertaining to him.
'Then Athena won't worry about me too much, as her mind will be on the rumors.' Contemplates Haruto, with a mischievous smile on his face.

After that whole ordeal, though Athena tries to reassure her students, Haruto ruins it by acting coy with them.
In the end, the students go away, but obviously, they still suspected that something was going on between Haruto and Athena.

After school, night comes around and Haruto is sitting in the ORC club room. Athena was off to handle some of her godly duties, well it's more like her joining a meeting of the Olympic Gods, and so Zeus, as an overprotective father wouldn't do something stupid… like say… attack the Clock Tower in London, where 'coincidentally' the Abyss Auction's Main Branch is.

Haruto just looks at the ORC club members with amazement in his eyes, especially Issei. 'Wow! That guy really can't use a Teleportation Magic Circle by himself… how the hell is the new Red Dragon Emperor. Was God looking at some boobs while he reincarnated this Sacred Gear of something?'
Of course, he knows that God is dead now, but God's System still works as he intended it. No devil with a scared gear has been born yet so there is that too.

-Haruto POV-
I look at Rias as she is sitting down on her desk and reading through some contracts. "Hmmm… playing video games… Issei, you would be perfect for this. It isn't even that far away by bike."
Issei nods at this and yells. "Hell yeah! Finally, a contract where I don't have to cycle half a city."
He takes the paper that Rias gives him and he runs off.
"Well, he is energetic." Says Akeno as she pours me some tea.
"Thanks." I say to her and she nods with a polite smile on her face. Her demeanor towards me is back to friendly now, hopefully, I can get that to lovingly.
Still, I summon a book from my personal storage, it is a completely dark book, with no title or cover picture.
As I open the book, everyone in the room looks at me with fear in their eyes, or more specifically my book.
"What is that?" Questions Rias with an uncomfortable, but curious look on her face.
"Oh, this?" I mentioned the book in my hands. "This is a copy of the Necronomicon."
"WHAT!?!?!" Exclaims Rias in shock. "Doesn't everyone that reads that go crazy?"
Everyone has worried looks at the gaze at me, and then my book.
I only shrug nonchalantly. "Well, it doesn't matter. As long as one has the mental fortitude, then they won't go crazy. Wanna read it?"
