"Are you sure my car will be safe here?" Lomax said. The car was parked on double yellow lines.
Wraith finished the last of the spell he was doing. A thin ripple of blue went over her car. "It's now got a forgetful spell covering it. No one will really remember the model or make. Let alone the colour. My car has the same spell."
Lomax looked at Wraith's Mustang. Hex was sat on the passenger seat while Estron was sat in the back with a tartan blanket wrapped round him, at a glance he looked like a small boy.
"Always wanted to drive one of those." Lomax said with pleading eyes.
Wraith gave a chuckle. "Ok, ok you can drive. I'll sit in the back with Estron." He then handed her his phone. "I need you to put our phones in your glove box. We can't take any more chances. MI13 could trace these."
"MI13?" She said as she fished out her phone from her inside pocket.
A military helicopter flew over their heads. Wraith looked up at it. "MI13 is a poison. It started in 1939 when they hung three occult detectives for fear they might collude with the Nazis. There were rumours that they were secretly passing on messages to Berlin. The reality was it was just a private club trying to contact the dead of family and loved ones who had recently died in a shipping accident.
In 1952, Annie Moon died in a suspicious car accident after just completing her manuscript. Facts about werewolves. There's more, so much more, it's just the tip of the iceberg."
Lomax shook her head in disbelief. "Who runs it? Surely someone's in charge of it."
"Her name's Ash." Said Wraith with a look of distain. "A cruel twisted woman who has more power than anyone can imagine. She once ordered the burning of the graveyard library at Brookwood. We were lucky to get the library books out in time."
Another military helicopter flew over. "We have to get moving." Wraith said. "Believe me MI13 can move fast when it wants to."
Ash walked down the marble steps and out of the discrete London building that she worked from. To her right she could see her car pulling up. It was going to be a busy night for her. To her left she saw someone step out of the shadows.
It was Agent Adams. He worked for MI5. "Ah Ms Ash." He said in a very strong Scottish accent. "May I have a quick word? My boss, he's a little confused and was wondering if you could help?"
She stepped towards him and extended her hand. Agent Adams shook it weakly. She hated that in men. "Of course, Agent." She said in her best happy voice." How is your boss by the way?"
He ignored her question and smiled instead. "He heard you've been very busy the last seven hours, using the military helicopter to fly all over London. You also have at least two units patrolling. One did a very detailed search of an industrial park and you've scrambled all communications."
Inside she could feel a tempest of fury welling up. How dare they spy on her?
"Can you explain why you have been doing this?" Agent Adams asked.
She stepped towards her car and opened the back-passenger door. "It's very simple Agent Adams. In fact, I'm a little shocked."
"How so?" He questioned. His eyes betrayed him, they looked confused now.
"I expected to see you at least three hours ago asking these questions. You're a little slow. You see..." she gave a laugh as she stepped into her car. It had to be timed perfectly. "I decided to have a little fun and have a random training day. I've had my troops running all over London and I'll have them running around all night as well." She closed the passenger door an opened the window. "Now run along and tell your boss he should do it too. It's good for moral. We don't want our troops getting fat behind desks now do we?"
She motioned to her driver and they sped off into the coming night.
Agent Adams' phone began to ring. He answered and said. "She says it's just a training exercise Sir." The phone hung up on him.
The boss always did that to him.
