Chapter 30: Chapter 24: feast
Time flies, in a flash night has arrived. Time for a great feast. A celebration worth a while. A feast above the tavern and below the hazy blue night sky.
Dim candle lights with a serene atmosphere. Platters of food filled the table. Aromatic smell of sweet smokey turkey(fiery bird) lazily hover through the air. Liquid smoke wasn't around, but charcoal sure was abundant.
The powerful scent spices burst in waves like an ocean, soaking the roam with fragrance.

The atmosphere had evolved to a chattery festivity. The feast had begun.
With 7 types of cheese and wine the atmosphere couldn't be any merrier. The dwarf gulped down many of the bottles and the children ate most of the cheese. The 3 girls wore their newly brought clothing coupled by their carefree smile. Some had urging questions to be asked and some enjoyed the atmosphere.
Natsumi: (chuckles) This is pretty grand of a meal for our leader to be treating us.
Sarah: (worried) Are you sure we don't need to split the pay?
Emyrs: (laughter) Don't worry about it, just enjoy the meal.
Gaviel: (In glee and tainted pink checks) Yeah bet I well!
Emyrs only smiled at the scene.
His eyes slowly scanned the room. What he found was amusing, unlike their usual self, Faelyn and Rusell ,a bit tattered, was actually having a conversation. Faelyn was not erupting like a volcano and Rusell was not being an annoying contemptible asshole.
On the other hand, Alice was sitting beside Emyrs nibbling on a piece of cheese. Her adorable face was full of bliss. Yes, nothing makes Alice happier than food.
Well, as for our last member... I don't think a dwarf chugging down bottle after bottle of wine have anything interesting to describe.
Chattering chatter, how boring, I wonder if something interesting would happen... Maybe cutlery flying all over the place or even suggestions from readers like guns blazing would be fun-
"Great adventurers, your presence brings light to this place, hope you are enjoying the meal. May I join your table?"
A fluffy man filled with great jeweled ornaments and purple royal clothing, it is undeniable that he has a temper of a rich tradesmen. Despite his looks, he is a generous and reputable tradesmen across all classes and around the world.
Emyrs: As you please.
Fluffy man: (propose a gentleman bow) How kind of you, let me introduce myself. My name is Irving Eddy {note that those with first names are essentially someone from a noble family or related in someway}. May I know your name, great sir.
Emyrs: Emyrs Levas.
Eddy: (thinking)Indeed a splendid name.
Emyrs: (questions in a polite way) What brings you here today?
Eddy: Yes, my aim today is to deal a proposal with you and your team.
Emyrs: Please, state your offer. As long as we are able to comply without much lost then we will do our best.
Eddy: Then you would be delighted to accept this offer. Let us talk about rewards first, 10 gold for deposit and 25 gold for completion (The team took a deep breath). The task is very simple, escort me through "the forest of ancient" and protect me while I collect a few samples the plant life that lay there.
Emyrs: (curious) Could you tell us more about "the mountain of ancient" that you were mentioning about?
Eddy: Well...We actually don't know much about it. It's a mysterious place that has many rumors about it. No a single person have yet the adventure to the top and survive. However, what is known is that monsters have their own territory and the higher you adventure upwards the stronger the monsters. It also seems like the stronger monster rarely, in fact, almost never roam downwards.
Emyrs: (continues) And where are we adventuring towards?
Eddy: A little less than halfway. Suitable for A rank adventurer
Emyrs: (nodded in agreement) Alright, that's a deal. Why don't you join us for a feast?
Eddy: I would very well love too; however, I still have a few pieces of papers left to finish, my apologies. (Bowed, turned around and left)
Emyrs sipped his glass of wine as he watch Eddy's shadow fades into the darkness.
Natsumi: Looks like we've got a job ahead of us but before that, let's enjoy this meal! (Scooped up a spoon full of rice and meatballs stuffing her mouth full)
Alice: Yay, we get to travel!
Russell: If we are having to work our asses of, we might as well drink till we drop, right Fakelin?
Faelyn: Right! Wait... My name was not fakelin! (Hurruled Russell's to the ground and begin to wrestle him)
Laughter echoed across the lively night of the tavern...
