Chapter 17: Chapter 16: The Third Round
Chu Quao can't think straight as she go back to the Heavenly Realm. When she gain consciousness she look around and there is no Qiao Qiao.
She want to ask but she knew that she can't because she's the last person who went back. "Go back to your line, thirty"
The announcer was calling her thirty because she's the 30th person. They are named by their numbers and position. Chu Quao stood up and go to her line.
"To explain the basics, I know a lot of you died in the Wilderness Forest and that means you failed. But someone who able to kill a monster that means you've passed"
When Chu Quao heard those words to him, her hands was trembling.
What about Qiao Qiao?
"But because this is just a competition and a game, the monster who was killed there will live again" Chu Quao feel at ease but still worrying of Qiao Qiao.
"And now it's time for removing contestants" The announcer yell out the names who didn't pass the second round.
"The 30th man..." he stops announcing and look at Chu Quao.
"You... you didn't kill nor been killed. How does it possible?" The queen ordered her to come in front.
"Mister, are you sure you want to be a shadow? Base on your skills you have no ability" the queen was looking her from head to toe.
"Do you know that if you haven't kill nor being killed means being a coward"
Chu Quao stay silent, "I bet that you won't be able to pass. So I can give you a chance to leave now"
It's really obvious that the queen don't want her. But Chu Quao glued her fists and bow to the queen. "Replying to Heavenly Queen, I will not surrender until the end. I will continue and be the prince's shadow"
The queen smirked, "Let's see..."
Chu Quao go back to her place. "Now get ready for the third round!"
The announcer swing his hand and in a blink of an eye, there were already a table, pen and a grind ink beside.
They sat and listen to the next instructions. "Write what does a swords mean to you"
They start expressing they're knowledge. But Chu Quao was just looking at her paper... waiting for the others to finished. As they starting to stand one by one, Chu Quao take the pen and put it in the grind ink before writing her answer.
They pass the papers and her paper was in the last. The announcer was beside the prince, he was reading their answers to him.
And when he end reading, he call ten persons. "Come in front, one, eight, sixteen, twenty, eleven, twenty nine, two, ten...." as what the announcer said they came in front.
"From the first to third round, all of you got two points" but the announcer is not yet done announcing.
"Who is thirty?" Chu Qiao raise her hand. "Come here and can you explain your answer?"
She come forward as the announcer said and bowed to the royalties. The announcer took her paper and faced it to her were everybody can also see her answer.
Her answer was the chinese character of a man. "What is the meaning of this? Are you just playing around?" The tone of the announcer is kindly irritated.
Chu Quao hook her head, "It is indeed my answer. Sword is controlled by a man, it can't move by itself. And also martial arts with the sword won't work if he can't communicate to the sword. The sword can read man's heart, if he deserves to mastered his learnings or not. A man with the sword is a heart to heart communication. Without a man, no sword will live... When a man died as well as his sword"
Shi Yan was just listening to her explanations. And she's the only one who really known the true meaning of a sword. He was surprised, he didn't expect that a stupid woman knows the meaning of it. And he's curious how and where she knew that answer.
"Oh! Well... your well explained. Let's ask the prince if he's satisfied on your answer"
Shi Yan didn't talked for a seconds. "Where did you get those answers?" He asked
Her stupidity comes again. Chu Quao smiled at him, "From myself"
All of the people gasped, they were thinking that how can she answer the prince like that.
"HOW DARE YOU!" it was the queen
Chu Quao immediately kneel and ask for apology. "Mother, let thirty. Sh-- He actually did a great job in his answers so being rude earlier, I will let it pass"
"NO! NO ONE CAN DARE TO--"
"Mother please..." Shi Yan said calming his mother, luckily the queen didn't talk anymore.
"You are the last ten person who passed the third round" announce Shi Yan.
Chu Quao was smiling like there is no tomorrow. "Thank you, prince!"
She fullfill the ten persons who get two points for the last third round. All of them was going to proceed for the fourth and fifth round. Chu Quao failed the second round and that makes her points only two.
The rest twent was just sitting beside and watching the ten men... except for Chu Quao who's 'she'.
"Being a shadow is also know how to cook, you need to be all in one servant. So if someone in the ten men don't know how that, the rest twenty beside will have a chance to replace your position"
Chu Quao hide her smile, she wants to cook so badly. She know how to cook since before but their chief didn't know that because Yue Ying and Wu Mei are teaching her. They taught her in hide because the chief don't want her to be with them while studying the cooking.
So she force them and didn't stop making trouble on them, so at the end they surrender because of her naughtiness.
"There is a kitchen here, no one will allowed to help you so find it on your own way"
And they stood up and start to find the kitchen.
'I will cook the best dish for prince...' -she thought
