Chapter 12: Madie and Nora

Before I can get up, to go back out there I feel arms wrap around me.

"Are you done yet?" Nora whispers in my ear. I wipe my eyes and nod my head. "Yeah, I just needed a minute, I've got a lot of emotions in my head right now." I whisper back still trying to still the shaking of my hands. I can feel her smirk. "I know, Madie and I are a strange pair. And that must make you feel weird, what with our hugs or affections, and our deep mutual understanding of each other. But you need to understand that we have been together for years now, hell we've been together since I was 7, and she was only 5. For her fifth birthday her powers came forward. Her father was a mortal. Her mother was in love, and was trying to get away from all of us. When her daughter got the power of her Wiccan Coven, she freaked. She sent her here. We've been together ever since. We went through thick and thin together. My family's just as broken. So, we made a blood Oath, when she was 10. We promised to always be each other's family, we promised to be together forever, and sisters for longer. She promised to never abandon me, when everyone else had. She promised to make me happy and give me all the affections of the bubbly, fun little sister she was gonna be. She promised to never leave me alone. I promised to always protect her first. I promised I would be her shield when needed, and her dagger when wanted. I promised to be by her side always. I was always in her corner. I promised that no one would dare hurt her again, not when I was around." She sighed and looked at me, finally breaking her trance. "That kind of blood Oath, when your supernatural it binds you to it. And doing that with the destined head of the most powerful Wiccan Coven. Well, it helps you to keep your promises. It does a connection of sorts. We learned how to control it, over the years but at first we could read each other's thoughts, even when we didn't want to. We could tell where the other was, and how they were feeling. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't give up this connection, and I don't regret what we did. And we can still do all these things, effortlessly, in fact. It was the other thing that scared us." She stops for a moment and gulps. She takes a deep breath, and while staring at the window she continues. "Any, sudden rise in emotion would pull the other into our head. We couldn't control the other, or anything. It's just that we saw, heard, and felt what they did. Luckily, we can't do that anymore. We both have built our own barriers. Both to keep the others mind from entering, and to keep ours from leaving
