Chapter 10: I don't think you understand this position.

That's when it was Maria's turn to smirk. "Actually, consort would be perfect for me, I don't have to deal with YOUR kingdom and I can have plenty of time to rebuild my pack, you see I don't need your title. I have my own and to be honest, I like mine better." I swear at her. "I don't think you understand this position of consort you get. So I'll explain. The consort MUST stay with me at all times. Well almost, if you're consort I then need to find a new lady or lad of the court. In which case, the two times you get to be free of me is, when I'm taking a hygiene break, and when as required me and the person of court are having a, ah… personal session." I clear my throat. "Alas a consort is a royal family member's personal, and ah slightly glorified… um, well… whore." She freezes. "Still happy with consort position?" I ask. "And please, don't have me explain the meaning of personal session." I say, nicely. I literally watched her heart break through her eyes and I felt it in my own heart. "I know what a 'personal session' is, i may be shielded but i'm not a fool. No matter what role you give me, I will still be an alpha. I will still be there for my pack mates, my sister in law, who is pregnant may I add, with my brother's child, that he will never see grow up. I am a strong leader. And I would do well at your side on the council, but I will not twist and bend my morals to fit your mold of a 'perfect' me, and I will be treated as your equal, otherwise, I will settle for the glorified whore, and by that, the person who pisses you off because I will never give myself to you in that position willingly." I chuckle. "I love most of that answer. But let me say a few things. I want You on the council, just the way you are. But I can't guarantee that they treat you equal. Hell, I don't always treat you equally, though that's more of my personal problem. One that I can try to change, I can't guarantee that I'll succeed though." I put my lips against her ear. "And as for the last comment…" I whisper. "The first thing is that you don't need to be. Though I'd prefer it. The second is that I believe you will, well not like that but…" I trail off, and gently nibble on her earlobe. Being careful not to use my fangs. "I n-need to talk to my p-pack mates about accepting the role, I will tomorrow." I smirk when I hear her stumble over her words. Luckily she can't see it. I lift my head up.  "Thank you, little mate. I don't like the idea of what would have been if you'd just rejected me." I say bury my head in the crook of her neck, at first shortcake stiffens. But she relaxes when all I do is kiss her neck, and then let go of her hands. This way, even though I'm still on top of her, not to mention faster, and stronger. She's now not completely trapped, and she relaxes a little bit. Then I kiss her again, making sure to get the spot that earlier i learned was extremely sensitive, and responsive to my kisses. Shortcake wraps her arms around my waist and I give her a look of surprise, she just blushed a deep shade of red and kisses my nose. "We can't keep doing these midnight rants, i'm gonna be a zombie when I wake up." She giggles. "We can too, continue." I say. "didn't you open my gift?" I ask. "The necklace? Yeah what about it?" I laugh. "Put it on. It's a special necklace made by Madie. Everyone in your pack gets one. As long as you keep them on they'll help with the whole needing rest thing." I say, as Shortcake grabs the necklace. "That's friggin awesome! Thank You! Though you did get one thing wrong." She slips the necklace on and crawls into my open arms, being careful to not hurt my side. I give her a lazy smirk. "Oh, and what's that?" I ask with amusement in my voice. She smiles her adorable smile and kissed my cheek making me blush. "It's not my pack, it's OUR pack, I know it's small and broken and is of no use to you. But it's ours so I love it." my smirk drops. "Not until you agree. Until then they're your pack, and my guests. Friends maybe. But if when you and your pack talk, you don't come back with a yes…. they're not My pack." I say coldly. She looks up at me with a small pout. "They will say yes, they know that I know what i'm doing. They will love you, you just have to give them the same chance they're giving you." I look at her from the corner of my eye. "If you knew for certain they'd say yes, your only answer wouldn't be that you have to talk to them first." I say, in a grumpy tone. Shortcake goes to reply, but I silence her argument with a few well placed kisses and nibbles. She giggles and hides her face into my neck. "You may have won the fight, but I will win the war." She laughs, leaving a few stray kisses on my neck. "Oh, really. You think so?" I ask, and pin her under me again. "How are you gonna win when I do this?" I ask, as I lightly drag my teeth down her neck. And I can feel her bodies response to something so simple, so  I decide to take it up a notch. "Or this?" I ask, as I make her wiggling and escape room disappear. So she absolutely cannot get away from me. And I see her blush. "What about this?" I ask, as I push down ever so slightly with my hips. And her eyes widen. I can't help it, I laugh and get off her. "You're to innocent…" I comment as I kiss her nose. She whines a little and jokingly turns away from me and pouts. "Well fine then, I was going to kiss you…. On the lips, but whatever, if you wanna be a tease." She mumbles. I chuckle. "I have better places to kiss…" I trail off as she freezes, and I can't help smirking. "Wait what, I don't get it?" she says as she turns to me. "Then I'll show you little mate. And you can tell me what you think tomorrow morning." I say.
