Chapter 20: Ch.20 : New Journey Await
"With that, my report comes to the end." (Ray)
Right now I am in the guild. There is no one here except me, Lily and Zack. It's so lucky to meet Zack here today. After the invasion last night, the citizen evacuated themself with help of 'protector' squad. Until now, only that squad who came back here for checking the situation.
"To think demon included to this matter." (Zack)
His face has been serious when I started to talk with him.
"Quite unexpected, right? It is impossible for demon came here without any contract. But neither of us can do anything for it. " (Ray)
And for me, I just enjoy this talk with a smile.
"We can't do any investigation since the guild has no authority for that."
He put his chin on his hand and closed his eyes. He is more serious than I expected.
"Then let it be since that doesn't concern us at all. Maybe someone from the royal family will make an order to investigate about it soon. All we have to do are do our routinities like a normal day." (Ray)
I stand up from the chair and take a step to leave the guild.
"Why are you so sure about it?" (Zack)
I continue my walk and just waving a hand to him.
"Just watch it okay. Soon he will get what he deserves." (Ray)
I take a glance a bit to behind and look at Lily bowing her head as an apology for my attitude. It's around noon but I already heading to the inn. Last night, I can't sleep properly since the forest has much bug and it sound around me was disturbing. This morning I intend to have a good sleep but was disturbed by Lily and Vi. Fortunately, I got something that can satisfy me.
"Hey Lily, just go somewhere or do anything you want. I do not want anyone disturb my sleep now." (Ray)
She nodded and leave me alone. I headed to the room I rent and immediately jumped on the bed and close my eyes. Finally, I have a good sleep now.
When I open my eyes, the sun already set and the sky has turn to dark, it's already late though. I look around and found Lily has fallen asleep and see something flying on her head.
"Say Sylph, why did you give your power to me to... Correction, why did you fuse some of your mana to me? You already know about my affinity, right?" (Ray)
The creature that flying before come closer and sit beside me. She has a wing of feather and green hair and eyes. Her appearance like an adult woman and she has tiara on her head.
"I think you are going to sleep all day until morning but to think that you woke up this late." (Sylph)
"Just answer my question." (Ray)
I put an expresionless face to her as a sign that I have no intention to have a chit chat right now.
"You have a bad manner to someone older than you, you know?" (Sylph)
She let out a little giggle to me and pat my hair.
"Just answer it." (Ray)
Again, I give a signal that I not interested with what her do.
"Yeah, I already know it. I initially want to made a contract only with her but I found something interisting in you." (Sylph)
"And what is it?" (Ray)
"Even though you bear much of <Dark> power but you are really different with someone else that have the same condition like you." (Sylph)
"Alina has said that, so just go to the point." (Ray)
"You sure so impatient." (Sylph)
"If it's something that I put my interest on it then I can't hide my curiousness." (Ray)
She is sulking. Even though her body like an adult woman but somehow she act like a child.
"Like I said, you are different. Even though you have <Dark> power but you did not get corrupted by it. The character you have right now is reflection of your past live, not a single sign of changing from it." (Sylph)
Now you mention it, I have a title that told me I am a reincarnator, but...
"I don't remember I am being reincarnated though." (Ray)
"Maybe, they seal your memories because you want to do something that Gods doesn't want it happen. I just guessing from your title though." (Sylph)
Seal my memory? For what reason they have to do that? I check my status and I realize what the meaning of my title I had along this time.

I sigh and look at the ceiling. I put my hand on my forehead since it is still too hard for me to believe it.

She put a smile when I ask this question.
"There is more. I saw you confessed her that day, I know you were serious about it so I simply made you her guardian. Also I interested on what will you do now since you are the very first person that know how this world work so I will watch what you do." (Sylph)

Since I am a child, all I do was observing the village without playing with a friend like the other do. By doing that, I was learning how the world in my surrounding work. Then when I was six, someone move to the village. That was the first time I met Mathias.
I saw him brought many books in his carriage alongside with the other luggage. After that, I had a talk with him and persuade him to lend his book. He surprised that I can read the book fluently even though no one thaught me. When he was traveling for trade, I borrow his books and read all of it in my room without went outside all day long.
"Can you accompany me until morning? Look like I can not sleep since I have do that this noon." (Ray(

After that we have a small talk about what has she saw during her long life. Time goes quickly, the sun already rise and Lily woke up. I ask Sylph to hide herself in Lily's back since I said I can't always protect her. After made up the bed, we are going to the square to meet Vi.
We are sitting at the fountain while having a chit chat. Time goes by and finally we see Vi bringing a book in her hand. She wave her hand from far. Seems like she is excited for training.
"Good Morning." (Violet)
"Morning." (Lily)
Lily gently smile and I just raise my hand.
"Here's the book." (Violet)
She is looking down when her hand straight forward to me with book in her hand.
"Good, let's change a place. I found a small restaurant there, wanna go Vi?" (Ray)
"Sure." (Violet)
We are heading to the restaurant and searching an empty table. After that we sit and order a meal there.
"Hoaaaam..." (Ray)
"You look sleepy, are you not sleep last night?"
"It's not like that. Looks like my day and night cycle have been reversed."
I open the book that she lend from the library and begin to read it. This book contain on basic of magic and support magic. This is interisting since what written in here a bit different from the book that the Hero left.
"Are you sure you can read it all in one day? It's a basic book but it's too hard to understand even for me." (Violet)
"Don't worry about it, if you can't understand it then I will teach you. What kind of magic that you want to learn?" (Ray)
"Maybe [Heal] since it's compatible with my affinity."
Alongside when the meal arrive, I close the book since I have read all the content and remember it. I give back the book to Vi.
"You finished already!?" (Violet)
"Yeah." (Ray)
"Don't lie to me." (Violet)
"Not a single." (Ray)
"Then prove it!" (Violet)
She open the book and flip the page with a high speed. Looks like she not believing what I said.
"Then if you said was right then mention what the content in page 37!" (Violet)
"Page 37 about [Heal]. All you need for that just focus your mana bit by bit on the wound area so it will recover. This only work for small wound though." (Ray)
"Eh?"
She is dumbfounded since I am right. She once again flip the page.
"Well, I have told you that I want to learn this magic so maybe you have remember it. What about the [Barrier] magic, where you found it?" (Violet)
"Page 95 contain the basic of [Barrier] magic. Release your mana and change it to solid form. If you can't control it then it maybe explode." (Ray)
After that, she is asking a few times about the content and I answer it without fail. In the end she give up.
"You really read it all and you also remember all of it." (Violet)
I grin at her with pride. This is what you got if you are asking someone with a talent like me. Since the first time I read a book, I understand it meaning and quickly remember it even the content was took time to understand for expert.
"If you already finish with that, please eat the meal. Or you want me to eat it all." (Lily)
Seems like we too carried away with our little game. After that we eat our breakfast and going to outside the town.
"Well, next time bring the advance one. I will train you now." (Ray)
"All right." (Violet)
After walk for a while, I found a great place for training. It is a grass plain near the forest.
"This place is where we training. For the start, let's take a little run around this place." (Ray)
""Okay!""
I running in front of them and they two following me. It is just a little exercise for warming up. But as I thought, Vi run unsteadily and about to collapse. I hold her with Lily and bring her under the tree.
"Are you okay, princess?" (Lily)
"Yeah....just...need to fix my breath..." (Violet)
I already expect that since I saw her status and found she was lacking in his physical. This will be bad if she is using a high rank magic again. Her body maybe can't take that much burden and only going to hurt herself.
"Well then, I already know what kind of training you will have." (Ray)
"What...is it?" (Violet)
She still not recover her brearh at all.
"From now on we will train your physical ability." (Ray)
"Eeeeh?" (Violet)
She make a face that show her surprise.
"What's wrong?" (Ray)
"Why I need...to do that? I am a magician...you know?" (Violet)
'You are a priest though', that what I want to say but I can't tell her yet. She still not having my trust yet to know my secret.
"Even if you are magician, you still need to learn that. Remember when you use your [Judgement Ray] before? Your body can't keep the burden from that and in the end you are collapse and in a defendless state. That is too dangerous for you." (Lily)
Seems like she knows it too. Well, she was watching the moment when Vi casted the magic though so it's normal for her to understand it too.
"You are the one who asking me to teach you become stronger then you against it now. All kind of training you will have is important to make it real. Believe us, we are doing our best to make you stronger." (Ray)
She nod and her eyes like burn with passion. Seems like she has made her resolve.
"Yes, please train me to become stronger." (Violet)
After that we continue our training. But before that...
"I forgot to tell you this. Can I ask for your help?" (Ray)
"Sure." (Violet)
"Can you order your knights to investigate the Retilia house?" (Ray)
She tilt her head in confuse.
"I can, but for what?" (Violet)
"You will find something interisting there and I believe that you must know that." (Ray)
Three days later, the head of Retilia was caught by the knights and sent to the capital. He was caught for tax evasion and a betrayal plan to the current king. They found a document about their money report and the document that he will sent it to the kingdom was different in number. They also found letter that he want to sent it to the other betrayer of the king.
The next time I met her, she was surprised with what her knights found. There is nothing much happen since that, until three years later when we are waiting at the town square for training like always.
"Ray, Lily!" (Violet)
Vi rushing toward us with a tears in her eyes.
"What's wrong, Vi? Why are you in hurry?" (Lily)
Lily looks worry about her condition right now, it is so rare for Vi shedding tears.
"I graduate from academy at the first place!" (Violet)
I forgot about that, so this year is her last year here.
"Congratulation, we are happy to hear that!" (Lily)
I nod. I gently smile to her and in my heart I am happy too to hear that. But her reaction is different, she is making a sad face.
"I will go back to the capital to celebrate my graduation also a welcome party for the summoned herk. And for that, I want ask you two to come with me as my personal guard." (Violet)
"So the time has come." (Ray)
Hearing my voice, Vi put her attention to me. I look down, trying to hide my grin. I wonder how this hero look since I heard they have a special power that can't be compare with anyone of this world. I want to meet him and try his power. This will be great.
"Don't worry, we coming with you." (Ray)
I smile to her and accept her request. I can't wait to meet you, HERO.
