Chapter 5: CH.5 Battle of Prodigies
[DUEL START]
Both of them assumed a high guard as they both stared at each other waiting for one to make the first move, a leaf fell onto the ground and they both started moving at the same time. Yuuki threw a thrust. Emily reflectively parried, she slashed her from the other side. Seeing that she couldn't dodge the cut, Yuuki block the attack with her sword.
'What an amazing reflect, Truly a sword prodigy.' Emily knows that Yuuki had never touched a sword before as her movement were rather plain for someone who had a talent for it. She also concluded that her reflexes were faster than some of the well-trained swordsman.
They both kept on going back and forth, parrying, blocking, and attacking each other. Realizing that she isn't getting anywhere, Yuuki started to think about a way to broke through Emily's seemingly unbreakable defence.
'Her skill with a sword is just too incredible, she could parry and counter-attack any attack I sent her.' Looking at her worn-out health bar as compared to Emily's full one she started feeling bitter, she racked her brain while attacking Emily to search for a way that she could break her defences.
'She's started to adapt to my style of defending huh? What a young promising talent.' She then sighed, if she were with her in the world in her memories then she wouldn't be here. Emily shook her head and continues to counter Yuuki's relentless assault.
Yuuki's finally known what she could do, with the next cut. Yuuki parried high, with her sword tips thrusting towards Emily's face. Surprised with Yuuki's action Emily leapt backwards and slapped her sword aside. Knowing that Emily would do that, she didn't fight the blow instead used the momentum from it and leapt forward while spinning from the force Emily exerted. She turned the chance and aimed at Emily's neck.
Emily parried, and cut against her body. Yuuki dodged the strike and when she wanted to strike back. She felt a blade on her throat and sighed. She dropped her weapons and said, "I yield."
[The Duel had concluded with the Winner: Emily]
Yuuki raised her hand up to the air and fell down to the ground, tiredly "I didn't stand a chance did I?"
Emily smiled, "You did, just not now. Not the current you." She then offered her hand for Yuuki.
Yuuki accepted and stand up immediately, what surprises Emily is that Yuuki suddenly bent forward towards her and said, "Nee, Let's be friends from now on kay Emily?"
"Sure, I'd like to be friends with you too."
We both then shake hands, which seal the deal. What we both didn't know is the fact that this meeting would be the start of an incredible clearing duo, which would etch its name deep in people hearts and in the history of the gaming industry.
We both then started walking around and talking to each other while grinding away at the Wild Boar. The System:'What a poor animal being abused like this.' What both of them didn't know is that someone was watching them from the shades of trees and observing them. He wore a dark cloak covering his entire body except for his eyes, the only noticeable feature is that his eyes were yellow.
"So that, was a battle between prodigies huh?" His smile then turned disturbing as a sinister aura started leaking, "Hey what're you doing let's go the boss is waiting." The man nodded his head and started to walk towards the forest, pausing awhile then looking at Emily and Yuuki. 'I can't wait to defeat them in a battle. Emily and Yuuki, I'll remember you.'
Emily shuddered and started looking around. She had a feeling that something would happen in the future and it couldn't be good. She looked towards the sky, while she was distracted a wild boar charged towards her.
"Oink, oink." when she wanted to react the boar had shattered into particles.
"Hey, don't blank out you almost got your ass kicked just now," Yuuki said while berating her a little. Emily felt that her friend is really lively and easy to get along with. We both then continue to grind for levels.
-Line Break-
After reaching level 5 we both rested near the town and talked to each other, knowing that it had been late in the real world Emily doesn't want to keep Yuuki staying here. Before she could say anything Yuuki interrupted her.
"Hey, Emily."
"What is it Yuuki?" Emily wondered what Yuuki wanted.
"I wanted to know if you'll stay and be my friend forever." She said while looking a little bit sad, Emily noticing her sad look didn't ask about it and hold her hands.
"Of course, I will. We would become the best of best friend." Assuring her that it would be realized Emily squeezed Yuuki's hand.
Feeling Emily's reassurance Yuuki felt a weight lifted in her heart and smiled brighter than before, "Yes, of course, we will." whilst she nodded her head.
Both of then laughed and continues to talk. They both were having so much fun that they didn't notice the looming darkness that started to bloom and would bring chaos onto the world.
