And that is why he isn't going to do anything in this case, Varsas decided.
He closes the door to the basement containing his belonging and other objects before quietly leaving. However the moment he left, someone else broke into the room.
It is normally not possible to break into a room that Varsas Gungnir has enchanted, because in this age there aren't a lot of powerful beings around. However at the same time, enchanting is not Varsas's strong point so it only take someone of similar skill or better to break all of that.
And the person who is doing the breaking in right now is someone extremely formidable. Why it can be said that her people can view all of time.
She is named Lufa, a girl from the mystical island of Lan Sphere, currently serving as a maid in the Gungnir household on her own volition. And now, she is actually on order from the queen of Lan Sphere.
"Just what is this?" The girl mutters to no one in particular, looking at the room surrounding her. She knows Varsas did some questionable thing and declared the basement off limit, but this is not what she is expecting. There are many thing lying around, strange thing that does not seems to fit the rest of the room's atmosphere at all.
There are empty bottles lying on the ground that does not fit in with anything. Wood carving of strange figures that based on her knowledge are some kind of deity that govern death in the eastern countries. On the opposite side of those wood carving are stone carving depicting angels with wing looking mightily benevolent. It is a classic depiction of an angel, but it is just too bland with out anything new. However the strangest thing is that those look to be newly carved, and the stone carving are not yet finished.
Next to them, there is a rack that contain liquids Lufa has a headache trying to understand. All her people can be all seeing, but some knowledge may be harder on their mind then other, it is said that if one was to look to the end of the world, one can see it, but they will go mad. In this case, it is not some forbidden knowledge or whatever, but it is just too complex for her to understand them instantly.
There are healing potion, advanced healing potion, even more advanced healing potion and just what is this god level healing potion her knowledge is giving her? For the first three there are ten of each, and for the last there are one bottle. The rest are one of each. One bottle of sleeping drug, one bottle of paralysis, causing temporary or permanent paralysis without any cure depending on the potion's strength, one potion of confusion, destroying a person ability to think rationally for a limited amount of time depending on the poison strength, one bottle of actual poison used by assassin, one potion of silence, destroying a mage's ability to cast spell for a limited amount of time, a potion of regeneration, causing a person to mutate like a troll and gain regeneration for a limited amount of time, a potion to slow down a person's perception of time, a potion to speed up a person's perception of time.
Lufa stops and looks at the two bottle. Just what are these thing? They feel so familiar and yet she has never seen them before in her life.
There are one potion that can make a baby as strong as ten men, and a potion that make a grown man as weak as a baby. A potion to cause rapid, uncontrollable monsterization on human.
Lufa stops again and looks at the last bottle. This is...Why does Varsas keep this? It is evil. So saying, she destroys it on the spot.
Finally the potions approach the normal territory, a liquid that explode if it is in contact with air, a kind of acid, a potion that can be rubbed on item to protect against acid, another potion that can do the same, except it also make the material somewhat flameproof, a bottle of pure water, a bottle containing pure salt and finally an actual bottle of beer.
They are exactly one of each.
Lufa turns away and tries to ignore the strangeness of what she has witness. She is on a mission from the queen of Lan Sphere here.
In the middle of the room is a strange pillar of metal that when she looks closer turn out to be a giant book. Lufa wonders about it for a moment before turning away again from the strangeness.
Next to the giant book are strange tables, not shelves of book, but tables that have small book littered on them. Magic theory, exactly one each for each subject. However there are strange thing lying next to them, arrange in exact strange position that formed a triangle. There is a book called Book of Eibon that causes her headache, next to it is a book called the Golden Bouch, and then next to it is something that despite her mastery of all the known language, even lost one, she cannot read. It looks very clean, with a black cover, but the problem is that, it is literally not written in any language. It is as if it is all gibberish, but why does that guy keeps it here?
Again, Lufa turns away to avoid the oncoming headache. One of the thing the elder Lan Spherian teaches to the younger generation is that there are something you are safer ignoring. The mind is an amazing thing, you can ignore thing that may may cause you mental damage.
A fishing rod is leaning on the wall as if taunting her to understand why that is here. Next to it are seeds of an unknown origin.
There is a sewing kit in the room and a stethoscope that again Lufa can't understand why they are here. Robe made from unknown materials are hang on racks, next to the weapon racks that contains mostly spears and swords.
Despite the weapon, there is also a random piano in the mix that does not seem to fit in at all. Six kind of flutes and a cooking apparatus are kept with the piano. One set of armor is also kept as well as a toy bear. And then-
Lufa almost flinches when she realizes that she has missed it in all that time. Next to the bear is a giant human like figure made of wood and a giant human like figure made of stone. Both of them are golem, freshly created too, one of each.
She keeps quiet for a time trying to see if the golems would react, but they don't so she evaluate that they must not have been activated yet. With that knowledge she destroys both of them before anything happen.
Finally after destroying the golems, she found what she is looking for. It is what the queen ordered her to do
"If you find a strange machine with transparent glass in Varsas's possession, destroy it." That is what the queen order, and that is exactly what Lufa found. The queen's prediction was right as Lufa expected. Now she just has to go through with her order.
Lufa notices a sleeping bag next to the machine, that guy must have been taking nap here. Sometime at night while no one is noticing, Lufa found Varsas sneaking out into the basement. He must be sleeping here, next to the machine, but why would he do that?
Everything about this room is strange, some of it more than other. She would question more, but she is on a tight ship here. At that moment she can feel that guy's presence hurriedly running back into the room as if he has noticed her missing. Too late, she is faster. Right at the moment Varsas Gungnir rushes into the room, the entire machine shatters into peace.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" He screams.
"Why would you do that?"
