Chapter 32: Chapter 31 Eyes that cannot be meet

"Its rather obvious that the two of you took your time and forgot to change..." Mythica sighed

"We have our reasons" Kishi answered truthfully

"So, What's up? Where'd you ran off to?" Airi asked. Kishi did not answer and just merely looked at Kira, who's still sniffing and has bloodshot eyes.

Airi didn't bother to ask anymore questions, knowing none of them would be answered, but just said,

"Pretty bad for your first day...."

"Airi, that's mean!" Mythica bellowed "Anyway, Kira, I could show you around the school tomorrow. Well, since--I mean, your brother here hasn't showed you around yet, has he?"

Mythica said in a rather mocking tone, and took a glimpse of Kishi. Kira remained silent, but moved closer to Kishi, clutching the end of his sleeve. Seeing this, Mythica was really embarrassed and turned pink, turning back to her plate.

They entered the castle which is a student premises. The path was covered with glowing stones which can only be seen in the night, glittering as the snow around it shimmers in its light. The giant lake was bluish black, slightly icy as it reflects the moonlight. The flowers are also glowing under the clear sky, emitting beautiful blue lights. They entered pass the large wooden door, and walked across the grand hall.

Kira looked around with a curious face. Mythica smiled at this sight, as she is very fond of her.

"The whole castle belongs to the students" Kira looked at her "The councils are currently running this place since, the previous royals have graduated, but the prince and princess would be chosen soon enough though"

"Royals...?"

"Yeah, it's part of the system, and to keep things in order. You know, just like a kingdom" Airi explained "But unfortunately, there is no king at the moment since the top rank is occupied by more than one..." he looked at Kishi to Red ".....but honestly, E-class is as good as royals, though the council still stood higher--"

"Have you not been oriented yet?!" asked Mythica

"No, only a little. Nisan told me some--and.....well..." Mythica was now casting her suspicious looks and then turned to the others

"ASA!!"

She shouted at a boy; two years older than her. He has fiery-orange hair, and golden-green eyes. He wore a fine red waistcoat and a cravat.

"I have a tight schedule. So why me?" Asa protested

"'Cause you're the one responsible"

"Things have been very busy, or should I remind you.....the-Na-ti-vi-ty-ball..."

"Oh, I know! But it's still your responsibility!" Mythica argued forcefully

"Myth--"

"Shush Kira"

"But I'm not the only one here! Somebody else could do it!"

Asa looked at the others hoping for some backup, but everybody else is just as exhausted as he is, thus no one did and just shook their heads

"Sorry bro"

"Yup, just as busy as you are" added another

"Well...." Myth stared at him as he felt hopeless. But whether he like it or not, his schedule was too tight to fit one more in it. Thus, he made up his mind

"You do it" he said

Mythica was shocked of course. "What?!"

"You do it" he repeated

"I--"

"No need to, I could do it myself. Let's go Kira" Kishi told them, sick about their bickering. He walked across the grand hall, holding Kira's hand. He opened the door behind the curtains with his key, and together they climbed the spiral staircase, with Airi not far behind them, and the others, rooted at the spot.

They reached the lounging area and Kishi halted, while Kira bumped to him. Kishi looked at her, but Kira avoided eye contact, he just sighed and continued, but Mythica called after them breathing breathlessly, and Airi on the floor, making a scene that Mythica was running really fast and ran over him.

"Stop, stop" She took a deep breath then straightened herself up. "Okay" she cleared her throat "Kira's room is next to yours"

"I know" said Kishi

"Y-you knew?" Mythica said, utterly surprised

"Yes, its quite obvious actually. They seem to plan everything, long before it actually happens"

"And what he means by "they", he meant by the grown-ups" Airi added, finally getting a hold of himself, standing up, and brushing off the dirt.

Kishi led Kira to her room. Her room was very neat, and white just like back in the palace. Though, a bit smaller, and only has four sides. Giant glass windows with the view of the lake, and a balcony. An elegant canopy bed at one side of it, and a pair of doors on the other. Her room also has a fireplace and a couple of bookshelves. It was really cozy and warm; one would forget it was even winter.

Kishi reminded her to get change, and wished her goodnight, then kissed her forehead before he left. Kira walked to the other door, turned the knob, and pushed it open. The lights in that room quickly lit up as she entered. It was a dressing room, both sides filled with dresses that are mostly white, some drawers beneath them, and a big mirror and another door opposite of the entrance.

Kira soaked herself first. The warm bath was really relaxing, and the fragrant of various flowers and herbs (Sychi strictly instructed her to add them to her bath everyday) filled the place, making it feel more better. After sometime, she quickly dressed and wore a simple white dress. It has long sleeves that are a bit longer than her whole arm, the dress's length reached below her knees, and a thin ribbon tied on her waist.

She climbed up the bed, and fixed her pillow to a more comfortable shape, then laid down staring at the canopy, thinking. She's got a lot weaker in the past few years, she could barely keep up with everyone. Her fears have gotten worse, and somehow, appeared. She felt frustrated, not only because the things she could do was very limited, but also because she's being a burden to those around her.

"Fuffy" She called

A Fuffy four-tailed fox instantly appeared in her arms. She hugged it tightly, but the ticking of the clock in her bedside table kept bothering her. Soon after, she finally gave up and got up to her feet. She went out of her room to the deserted hallway, and stood in front of her brother's room. Without knocking, she just entered and walked in. Kishi's room was exactly like hers, and Kishi was sitting in his bed reading a book, but when she entered, he just looked at her, but once again, she avoided his gaze.

She walked up to him, still hugging Fuffy who seemed to have doubled in size. She climbed the bed and laid beside him, snugging under the blanket, and burying her face into his.

"Aren't you going to ask anything?" She said

"You avoided my eyes; you don't want to be asked" He answered softly "Just so you know, your acting like a child" He added when Kira moved closer

"I 'am a child" She corrected

Kira just let out a little groan, then closed her eye to sleep. Kishi sighed, half laughing as he whispered,

"What a baby"
