Chapter 18: "Stupid vamp speed."

Sheriff Noah Stilinski was currently sitting in a conference room sipping his coffee. "Please tell me you guys got something from talking to the victim's parents."

"In fact we did it's not much but it could lead to a break in the case." One deputy stood from his seat handing Noah a couple of folders. "We talked to the parents and all three said their sons met up at that warehouse regularly. here's where it gets interesting they said usually, two other boys would usually hang out with them. One goes by the name," The deputy paused opening the folder in his hand, "Justin Mitchell and the other Cody Flinn." The deputy pulled out two photos placing them next to each other. On the left was Justin Mitchel, an African American male with a flat top, the other was a caucasian male with short blonde hair.

"You think these are two of the guys who were caught on the security camera?" Sheriff Stilinski asked taking a closer look at the two. "Find them, once we do they'll lead us to the third guy. Good work."

Sheriff Stilinski still felt there was something off about this he couldn't tell how a mountain lion could possibly be involved in this. But it didn't matter because once they caught these two they would clear up all the confusion.

Friday afternoon before the game

Stiles was currently dashing through the forest he could feel the wind on his face, his hair would be flowing if he had any. He stopped at a tree placing his hand on the bark he peered around the tree, focusing his hearing he listened.

He could hear everything leaves rattling, birds chirping, 'crack' the sound of a twig snapping caused Stiles to take off in the opposite direction. He was too late as a blur sped passed him appearing in front of him was Elijah he smirked as he fixed the cufflinks on his sleeve.

"Caught again Stiles." Elijah himself barely had time to react as Elias appeared out of nowhere sending a roundhouse kick to his head. Raising his arms Elijah braced for the contact, holding his ground two lines of dirt cleared as he slid back finally running into a tree. Dropping his arms he smiled as both Elias and Stiles had disappeared

Elsewhere

Both Elias and Stiles knelt behind a big rock catching their breaths, Stiles breathed heavily gasping for air.

"How much longer do you think we can hold off?" Stiles asked as his breathing began to return to normal.

"We've been at this for an hour it'll have to end sooner or later."

Stiles nodded thinking about all the close calls he had, it's like every time Elijah found them they were forced to split up and Stiles just happened to be the easier target every time. Luckily Elias always appeared to rescue him from certain doom.

"You good?" Elias asked as he stood up.

"Yeah," Stiles said with a frown on his face.

"Good because we're changing tactics."

"Why do I get the feeling I'm not gonna like this?" Elias Smirked hearing Stiles question.

Minutes Later

Stiles stood behind a tree alone, again, he didn't even try and hide he was practically asking to be attacked. Hearing footsteps he knew Elijah had found him, 'good things are going as planned' Stiles thought as he stepped out from behind the tree.

"I'm guessing as a kid you didn't excel at hide and go seek?" Elijah asked.

"As a kid, I was an amazing Hide and go seek player," Stiles was clearly offended. "Why do you keep targeting me, there are two of us there should be a 50/50 chance you go after me or Elias."

"Because you are weaker, In front of a predator you should stand tall, making yourself seem just as powerful, but you don't do that. You're prey whereas my Son is a predator in training, you still have a long way to go." Elijah began to slowly walk toward Stiles, each step he took forward, Stiles took two backward.

"You're not running, I wonder what the both of you have planned." Elijah could hear Stiles's heartbeat speeding up, Stiles was falling into fear. "I can hear your heartbeat, You're afraid?" Elijah stopped in arms reach of Stiles.

Instead of replying Stiles attacked, his face had already become hairy, his eyes changed to bright gold, and his nails and canines extended. Stiles raised his hand swiping at Elijah's face.

Elijah frowned quickly taking a step back to evade Stiles swipe, but at that moment he heard it the sound of the wind howling.

It was like Elias appeared out of nowhere, his timing was perfect waiting for the moment Elijah was surprised he attacked.

Elijah quickly brought his arm up catching his son's kick, a serious expression formed on his face when Stiles appeared on his left swing his nails towards his face. He quickly released his son taking a step back, Stiles nails connected with air, as he grunted.

Elias didn't slow down once his leg was released he charged towards his father throwing a flurry of punches that were either blocked or dodged, Stiles would throw a punch at the moment Elijah was the most strained.

"BEEP...BEEP...BEEP" They all paused as an alarm went off signaling the end of today's training exercise.

"Today was a step forward, you're both getting faster and better at working together. Just don't become heavily reliant on each other there will be times when you won't be able to help each other in battle. Stiles, you need to use your instincts more you hesitate a little too often trust in your instincts they're usually right."

Stiles nodded as he leaned against a tree, looking utterly exhausted.

"Well I'm gonna head home, I have to pick up Marin before heading to the game, Stiles you taking Lydia?" Elias couldn't help but ask.

"No way, she doesn't want to see Jackson, she's staying home to watch movies."

"Well, I'll see you at the game." Both father and son disappeared leaving Stiles alone in the forest.

"Stupid vamp speed," Stiles muttered as he began walking back to his jeep.

Michaelson home

"Son before you begin getting ready we need to talk." Elijah stopped Elias as he was heading upstairs.

"Alright what's up."

"It's your uncle Niklaus, he's coming to visit."

"Cool, I haven't seen him in like a year." Elias smiled hearing the news.

"Once he gets here I'll be leaving to handle some business of my own, it shouldn't matter I'll return before he leaves. But while I'm away he'll be supervising your training. Oh and if you wish to keep your friends safe, keep them away from Niklaus."
