Ranking Assessment
A New year has born, 1518,
In the training courtyard, two figures could be seen intensely fighting. They are none other than Rey and Mia; As soon as Mia returned and heard Rey has arrived, she came to show her improved skills.
'Rankyaku'
Mia kicked at very high speed and strength, sending out a sharp compressed blade-like air. Even though Rey easily dodged the attack, he saw the tree behind him was sliced into two.
"Oi, Mia, are you trying to kill me?" Rey asked with a few beads of sweat on his forehead.
"Hehe, I know you will be able to dodge it and I wanted to show off my skills" Mia cheekily replied.
"Mn, You have improved a lot under Vice-Admiral Tsuru. I think you will be able to get a top rank in tomorrow's assessment."
Unknown to them, two figures were standing far away from them and watching their fight. Surprisingly, it's two Admirals Aokiji and Kizaru.
"Ooh, Scary ne that duo", Kizaru spoke.
"They are quite powerful for their age but they have a long way ahead of them." Aokiji lazily spoke and disappeared along with Kizaru.

Next day,
The whole Marineford is lively and bustling with soldiers since today is the combat assessment which will decide the Recruits Rank and their promotion.
Ten combat stages were arranged at the front of the Marine Headquarters. Fleet Admiral Sengoku, Admiral Aokiji, Instructor Z, Vice Admiral's like Garp, Tsuru and many High ranking Marine officers could be seen.
Rey, Mia, and other 300 Marine recruits who got selected for elite training stood before the combat stage, waiting for the announcement.
An Instructor came and told them about the battle instructions. The battle started in ten stages while Rey and Mia waited for their turn.
Soon, Rey's turn came and surprisingly, his opponent is none other than the youngster who tried to flirt with Mia on their first day. The recruit was frightened, noticing it's Rey who's his opponent; he knows his strength is nowhere near Rey.
Even in the recruit training, he barely survived for 10 mins and got selected for the next training program.
Rey smirked and directly leaped on the stage to fight his opponent. He looked at the recruit while gestured to come on the stage to fight.
The recruit was no fool, if he enters the battle stage right now, he would surely be beaten black and blue by Rey. So, he directly admitted defeat.
This surprised many marine recruits, and the surrounding soldiers who came to watch the battle and they began to wonder, 'is Rey that strong?'
Rey shook his head, he thought the recruit will at least try to fight him to maintain his dignity and pride but looks like he's wrong.
The battle continued one by one, soon it's Mia turn to fight a recruit. But the fight was unexpected, Mia easily overwhelmed the ordinary recruit with her strength and won the battle.
Rey didn't face any worthy opponents to use his full strength. He faced two recruits who practiced Rokushiki, specialized in 'Tekkai' and 'Shigan', but their skills are poor and lousy.
Soon, the ranking assessment entered the final step, the battle between the top 30. In this group, he saw some familiar figures like Smoker, X-Drake, and Hina.
Rey's next opponent was with a large, muscular man in his twenties. He was also one of the few who defeated the elite soldier and rewarded with the Rokushiki Technique.
Both of them entered the stage and waited for the instructor to begin the battle.
Start!
Rey charged at his opponent and punched using his fist while his opponent also countered with his own fist. The result was, the recruit took four steps backward while Rey remained firm like a mountain.
Even though Rey didn't use his full strength, the result was clear as a blue sky. His opponent also understood with a single exchange so he used 'Soru' and attacked Rey using 'Shigan'.
It was strong and Rey understood his opponent is someone who specialized in offensive attacks. Rey easily avoided the attack using Soru and appeared behind his opponent.
His speed was so fast that his opponent was not able to react and follow his movements. Even so, the recruit abruptly turned in midway and used 'Shigan' but this time it was different.
'Flying Finger Gun!'
His opponent thrust his finger and fired a sharply compressed air shockwave like a bullet from the distance, capable enough to injure someone without getting close.
Rey dodged to the side and skillfully evaded the attack with ease. Then, struck the opponent's chest with his fist packed with his full power.
'Tekkai'
The opponent recruit used the Tekkai skill to withstand the attack and it was his big mistake; Rey's full-powered strike is not something a normal recruit can withstand with his half baked tekkai.
His opponent was blown to the edge of the battle stage and coughed mouthful of blood.
"I admit defeat." He directly admitted defeat due to his heavy injury by Rey.
"Not bad", Sengoku praised.
"His rate of improvement is terrifying, if he improved like this he will become a helpful asset to marine in the future", Aokiji stated.
"That brat has a long way to go, he's just a little fledgling", Garp spoke.
"There are some devil fruit users, let's how he battles someone with special abilities", Tsuru said.
"Mn, how's that girl who picked?" Garp asked.
"She is good but not enough to confront the vicious pirates in the field," Tsuru replied.
Finally, the battle of the top 30 ended and Mia also achieved victory with hard battle. Finally, Rey and Mia advanced to the next round of the top 16.
Rey's next two opponents are not as strong as his last one, so he easily achieved victory and advanced to the Top 4 battle.
While Mia got defeated by her opponent Hina who already ate the Cage-Cage fruit in Top 8 battle. Even so, she was happy with her ranking.
Amazingly, Rey's next opponent in the top 4 battle is X Drake. Rey doesn't know whether Drake already ate his devil fruit, Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Allosaurus Model.
It's an Ancient Zoan-type Devil Fruit from the prehistoric era that allows the user to transform into an allosaurus hybrid and a full allosaurus. If Drake has already eaten the devil fruit, it would be a tough battle for Rey and he may even lose.
While on the other end, Smoker and Hina are going to battle; The winner will fight in the final stage.
