Chapter 51: Regular Day of School
"So why do you want to see my weapon arsenal?" Ivy broke the awkward silence after she order bubble tea and a slice of Neapolitan cake. She was fidgeting a lot with her fork, she never like awkward silence, its brother was much better than this.
Scarlett completely forgot that's why she was here, she so focused on today's agenda that she had a meeting with Ivy. Then again, she didn't want to have the meeting as it was kinda weird to talk to Ivy. Something that surrounded Ivy made her feel uncertain about Ivy.
"Ai, don't worry about the meeting however I wouldn't mind seeing your arsenal as I wonder how skilled you are," Scarlett waved her hand side to side as she too didn't care too much about the meeting, however, she had a feeling that Ivy would is like Jack of all Spades. "Why is dagger and gun your style of choice?'
The question wasn't new, Ivy has been asked that question of few times by Rosalina and her teammates. She didn't have a straight answer to why she uses dagger and gun, it isn't like she has a hidden knowledge of using blade and gun. She was just an odd natural to it.
Seeing Scarlett wave her hand in front of Ivy's face, she snapped out of little thoughts. "I'm just used to it." Ivy left the answer vague as she saw Scarlett's face saying "Give me more" face.
Seeing that Ivy wasn't giving to elaborate on her vague answer, Scarlett sighed deeply before packing her stuff up and getting ready to leave. She was going to be late for her meeting with Ruby, though she doubted that meeting would be of anything but fun.
Ivy wasn't going to waste the Neapolitan cake, she quickly asked a waiter to wrap it up before taking another sip of her bubble tea. She knew that Ruby tends to be curious, strict, annoying, and a lot of other things but her being...stress and scared of something to happen is something strange.
'Maybe I should ask her or spy on her for a bit,' Ivy thought as she received her wrapped cake, she left the cafe and checked the time before groaning. She was going to be a little late for her first class.

"As you know, Apathy is one of the most difficult monsters. They are known to be able to drain the willpower of Hunters and drain your Aura simply by a high pitch scream. Now does anyone know how to attack an Apathy when you are under the influence of the monster?" Professor Leviathan asked the students, most of them were bored or just not paying attention while there were a few that actively listens and took notes.
The classroom was like a college room, rows of seats being higher and higher with two-entryway behind the students and two at the front on the sides. The room was simple, dark-ish brown seating and floor, very lighten white walls, a digital board that had today's lesson and a table in the middle.
Professor Leviathan wore basic clothing, a white top with dark purple-colored jeans, her hair was either dyed or natural as Ivy could see the imperfection on her head where there were strands of navy and purple just coincidentally where Neko ears would be. From a distance, Professor Leviathan wasn't very short, she was at least five feet and eleven inches tall.
Back to the lesson, no one seemed to raise their hands which slightly annoyed Professor Leviathan. Sighing quietly, Ivy raised her hand as Professor Leviathan called on her. She sat up, making it a bit easy for her voice to reach the whole room. "There aren't many ways to attack an Apathy, however, to wake up from the Apathy's scream, have a friend inflict a small amount of pain through your body and vice versa."
"Very good Miss Ivy, say do you have an idea what to use to inflict pain?" Professor Leviathan was indeed curious about Ivy's intelligence, she was still wary about Ivy having a demon inside but she seemed to control it inside.
"A simple cut if you encounter a few like five or less but be in a dark tunnel with twenty or more and it would be very hard to wake someone up unless they have eye implants or just a cyborg," Ivy spoke normally as she very much had the right to, she has had experience with Apathies before just in mass quantity.
Professor Leviathan nodded as everything that Ivy spoke was right, she was even surprised that Ivy knew about the small increase of empowerment they get for each Apathy that is with them. There was no doubt that Ivy wasn't like most students when it comes to monster information.
Ring ring.
The students started packing up their notes and pencil, same goes for Ivy and her teammates as they were seated together in the middle of the room. York and Eden were already gone as Rosalina was just finishing a few notes about the Apathy monster. Lilith waited beside Ivy as the two waited for Rosalina.
"Miss Ivy, can I speak with you for a few minutes?" Professor Leviathan called, she was alining some stacks of papers before stapling them together.
Hoping that she wasn't in trouble, Ivy walked over to Professor Leviathan's desk as she waited for Professor Leviathan to speak her mind or question. She did wonder why she was called, seems odd to be called on after class unless she was in trouble or maybe something good happened. Who knows? Well, except the readers.
Professor Leviathan stretched her back as she turned to face Ivy, she towered Ivy which in some cases made Ivy annoyed but in most, she didn't mind. Professor Leviathan smiled before speaking, "How much do you know about the monsters in this world?"
The question was surprising, Ivy rarely needed to explain why she knew so much but that may just because she worked alone for a long time. She pondered on the thought before replying to Professor Leviathan's question: "I had my AI search a lot of audio and clips of monsters, I let it play the audio or clips while I'm not doing anything important."
Ivy made sure to not say the gender of her AI as it would be very weird for her to say a feminine word than a neutral word.
"Ah, I see. Got any suggestions for me to know? I may know a lot but my research tends to get limited," Professor Leviathan chuckled as she rubbed the back of her head. She may be the Monster expert when it comes to their anatomy but she still always lacks the more extreme cases of monsters.
"Hm, I say the Book of Remnant is to start with then the History of the Two Brothers, there aren't any clips that I can remember clearly but there should be a video with a monster called the Leviathan," seeing Professor Leviathan's expression, Ivy quickly cleared the wording. "Not you, Leviathan, but a massive sea creature that roams around deep around."
Nodding, Professor Leviathan made sure that her AI jotted these books and the Leviathan clip. She smiled before she dismissed Ivy to her next class.
Sighing a relief, Ivy made quick leg work to reach up to Lilith and Rosalina who were waiting for her. Kind girls, they are. Lilith asked what Professor Leviathan wanted but Ivy simply shrugged it off and said it was nothing important.
The three girls headed off to their next class where they had to deal with someone new today. Or that what everyone says after they have their Sparing period.
