Chapter 8: A gesture of kindness
"Excuse me?" I asked.
"I am asking you… are you so cheap?" Said Ana.
"What are you talki-"
*Swooch*
Suddenly, Ana take from her pocket more than thirty gold coins…
My mouth touches the floor.
"W-wha-wha" I didn't know what to say.
"Mages receive and allowance of ten gold coins monthly… plus, my teacher gave me some pocket money…" Said Ana.
However, I didn't listen to her, I was still focused on the amount of gold that was in front of me.
"… Do you want it?" Said Ana.
"I…"
"I will give you all of you want…"
Oh shit, I can feel the drool dropping.
"No, no, I have integrity, yeah, I have integrity… I will only grab one gold coin" I said.
"…Then, why are you grabbing more than half of the money?" Said Ana with a cheeky smile.
I notice that I, without noticing it, I put more than ten gold coins on my pocket…
"No, this is… yes… is a… joke! Yes, of course, a gentleman doesn't go back on his word" I put out the money of my pockets.
How come it hurts so much!?
I feel that my pockets are bleeding!

I must say that this girl really looks beautiful went she smiles.
"Well, if you don't want it, be my guess" Said Ana while grabbing the coins and put them back.

"Anyway, let's keep going then" Said Ana.

"I have some things to do, come with me…" I said.

We both stood up, I grabbed hope by the hand and went out of the valley.
I went to a nearby inn.
"Miss Fulli?" I shouted from outside.
"Is that you stinky boy? Sorry, we don't have any work for you" Said an old lady.
"No, this time I came to let us me and my sister get a hot bath" I said.
"That cost money, you know that" Said the old lady.
Hehe, this is going to be good.
"Here!" I said while I put a gold coin in front of her.
"Oh! Kid, how come you have this much money? Did you rob someone?"

"Yeah, yeah, all of us know that, come in then, I will prepare the bath" Said the old lady.
"Yes!" I shouted.
I turned around and saw Ana, who was also smelling herself.
"I should also take a bath" Said Ana.

"…" Ana didn't say anything.
The old lady came back and told me to go in, I went with Hope.
This really smells good.
"Come Hope, I will wash you" I said.
"Auu?"
I grabbed some herbs, that were a replacement of soap and use them on me and hope.
"Doesn't it smell good Hope?" I said.
"Auu~" Said Hope with a happy smile.
We both washed ourselves and went to a separate basin to submerge in the hot water.
Ah~ this feels like heaven~
"Wow, the water is turning black, we really were dirty" I said.
"You really were indeed" A voice came from outside.
I saw a naked girl with a good figure entering.
"How come you are also here!?" I said to Ana.
"What's the problem?"
"I am… a… man you know?" I said with some embarrassment.
"You? hahahaha, you are just a cheap brat" Said Ana with a smile.
"Plus, this will save us some time" Added Ana.
"…" I was speechless.
Let just ignore those small mountains and concentrate on enjoying this hot water.

After the man, the old lady and Ana kept looking us for some time.
"What?" I asked.
"No, well, you know…" Said the old lady.
"Yeah" Said Ana.
"I don't understand…"
"Well, after washing all that dirt… I just manage to realize that you quite the cute brat" Said the old lady.
"Yeah, your skin is fairly white and your eyes and quite cute too" Said Ana.
"Stop saying the word cute, if anyone here is cute is… her!" I said while opening my arms.
Ah~ my little Hope is really cute, with her black hair and puny cheeks, in addition with those big purple eyes.
"My sister is really the cutest!" I said.
"…" The old lady and Ana were speechless.
"Anyway, we have two more stops, let's get going" I said.
Ana followed me from behind, I went outside of the inn and went to a restaurant
"Mister Gill, give your best soup, ah! But make sure that there is nothing too solid on it" I said.
"Okay~" Said Mister Gill.
He went to the kitchen and came with a small soup.
"Her Hope~ have some" I said while I gave her a spoon of the soup.
Hope drank it all and made a satisfy smile.
"…" Ana only looked from the sides.
"You aren't going to have anything?" She asked me.
"I will just eat something along the way, I have to buy more food for her for the journey, children food is expensive you know?" I said.
The next stop was the doll maker.
"How can I help you?" Said a young man.
"I want a doll for my sister" I said while signaling Hope.
"Oh? For the little girl? I have the right thing"
He went to grab a little white bunny.
"This large bunny is popular among kids of her age" He said.
Hope looked at the rabbit and her eyes sparkle.
Yeah, that's it.
"I will take it!" I said.
Ana once again looked from the sides.
I went to the market and bough a couple of bottles of milk and some meat, of course, I will have to proceed the meat in little strips so hope can actually eat them, some for me as well.
Ana accompany us with saying much.
"Okay, this is the last stop" I said.
It was the Taylor shop,.
"How can I get help you?" Said a young woman.
"I want a small dress for my sister" I said.
"I only have this one, however, it cost ten silvers" She said.
It was a white one-piece dress.
"Sure!" I said.
Money sure fly fast, this morning I had 100 silvers and now I only have 40.
"Well, I bought a lot of food, so I think its good, what's more…"
When I saw the happy smile of Hope, hugging that white rabbit and looking at her new dress…
"Yeah, it's all worth it" I though.
"Okay, we are ready to go, of course, you paid for the travel" I said.
"…" Ana was in silence once again.
"Hey, would you mind speaking? You have been quite since this morning" I said.
"The are several things I want to say, however, I will only ask you the most important one right now" Said Ana.
"?"
"have you ever looked yourself in the mirror?" She asked.
"I don't understand what are you trying to imply"
"YOU ARE ALMOST SKIN AND BONES!" She said.
She pointed her finger to me.
"When I saw you outside of the bath, I notice that you are too think for your age! And looked at your clothes! Is too big for you! and is all thorn! Now that you have money, you spend all of it on your sister! What about you!?" She yelled at me.
I looked at my own clothes…
Well, now that I think about it, they are quite big for me…
"I… its okay, if my sister is-"
"I AM TIRED OF HEARING MY SISTER THIS! MY SISTER THAT! YOU ARE ALSO A KID!" She shouted while grabbing my hand.
"Hey! What are you doing!?"
"We are going to buy you some clothes and something to eat!"
"Its fine! I don't need it, plus, I don't have that much money!"
"I will pay! Stop being so stubborn" Shouted Ana.
"We won't have time to embark in the next wagon if we do that!"
"Doesn't matter, we can go tomorrow in the morning!" Said Ana.
"Like I said I don't need it!"
"You are coming with me!"
Like that, Ana dragged me, literally, to the Taylor shop once again and bought a white shirt and pair of pants for me, after that, we came back to the restaurant and she ordered every single dish on the menu.
Wow, rich people really are different.
We go back to the inn and we paid for a room.
"Let's sleep, tomorrow we will go to paid for a transport first thing in the morning" Said Ana.
We had a two bed room, Ana slept in one bed while me and Hope slept in another one, since it was the first time that Hope slept on a bed, she fell slept in a minute.
"Hey Ana" I said.
"What?" Said Ana.
"Thanks"
Ana didn't say anything, however, between the silence of the night, I could hear some whipping noises.
Is she crying?
"Idiot, I am the one who wants to cry" I said while tearing up a little.
The night passed by and we went to the merchant of the town and went on our way towards Flurial Town.
