Chapter 7: 7. Action

"Although Martin Lawrence has a brilliant resume, he hasn't produced any works in the past two years, and his salary must be quite high. Moreover, this is an action movie, and with his 1.7- meter height, it is difficult for him to perform well."

As Mary thought about it, she made a concise analysis and quickly listed all of Martin Lawrence's strengths and weaknesses.

Rowan, who was sitting quietly on the side, closed the information. He knew Martin Lawrence only because Will Smith had worked with him 3 times no 4 if we include the 4th part of bad boys that was released just before his death in previous life.

As for this guy who was much shorter

than Will Smith, he only remembered his awkward acting skills and his talent for swearing.

"Since Sean Trice is a trusted subordinate of the drug lord Keith Troy and helped Sean Archer, who had changed his face, escape the pursuit of the special forces in the plot, he must be a man of amazing strength and

ruthless killing."

Rowan whispered softly and gave a concise analysis of the role he was about to play. He then tapped the glass table thoughtfully, and the expression on his face gradually became serious and cold.

Terence Chang's eyes lit up slightly. After licking the corner of his mouth, he whispered in a tentative tone "So, Rowan,

can you play with a gun?"

With a grim smile on his face, Rowan remembers all the gun's Al Simmons used and cannot help but be thankful for it.

The roar of the engine gradually came, and David Permut was the first to get out of the Bentley. He wiped the sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief and and gave a "charming" smile to Martin Lawrence who got out of the car on the other side.

Martin Lawrence lowered his head at first, then his expression quickly changed. David walked over with a happy smile, patted him on the shoulder with a big hand, and said in slightly complacent tone: "Dear Martin, don't worry. With my help this time, you will be able to handle this role easily."

Suppressing the nausea in his heart, Martin Lawrence said to himself this is all for the $4 milllion pay, this is all for the $4 million pay. As long as he gets this role, he can return to the world of fame and fortune in Hollywood.

Martin Lawrence longs to be like Will Smith, earn tens of millions of dollars for a movie and become a world-renowned star.

Last year's "Independence Day", which grossed over $800 million, and this year's "Men in Black", which is being heavily promoted, have pushed Will Smith to a height that was out of his reach. With passion boiling in his heart, Martin Lawrence decided that once he got the role and regained some fame, he would immediately discuss with Will Smith and let the gold medal producer Jerry Bruckheimer restart the "Bad Boys" series.

"Let's go. It's almost 2:00. We can't keep them waiting. Let's finish it sooner so we can go back and have some fun."

The sarcastic tone danced slightly in his ears. Martin Lawrence suppressed the discomfort in his heart, nodded, and then waIked into the huge Paramount Studios.

As soon as he entered the audition building, he saw a tall figure standing quietly on the side. Terence Chang was communicating with John Woo next to him. Both of them had a smile on their faces and seemed to be having a very pleasant conversation.

David Permut's heart skipped a beat. After licking the corner of his mouth, he turned his head and looked at the tall figure. A burst of icy and chilly breath emanated from him, and a fierce murderous aura slowly surged

over him.

Then he noticed his gaze, raised his head slightly, glanced at him calmly, and his stern but cruel face pierced straight into his eyes.

David Permut's heart skipped a beat. He recognized the face. After a slight jump in his heart, he suddenly calmed down. He raised his chin towards Martin Lawrence who was absent-minded, and said in a deep voice: "Go put on your makeup don't underestimate this guy"

Martin Lawrence was looking at Rowan and felt that the air around them was a little frozen. After hearing David Permut's voice, he nodded quickly and walked into the dressing room with the help of his assistant.

Rowan narrowed his eyes slightly, and stood quietly there without moving, but his eyes glanced at John Woo who was talking to Terence Chang.

John Woo, who is just over 50, is not as thin as he was when he was young. His forehead is now bald and his face is a little fat. His slight smile reveals a hint of worry. Having success fully entered Hollywood with "Hard Target", it goes without saying that he values "Face/Off". As long as "Face/Off" is successful and the box office is up to standard, he will have firmly established his foothold in Hollywood.

But if "Face/Off" fails, this A-list blockbuster with $70 million investment will definitely cut off his path to further advancement in Hollywood.

Therefore, he strives to achieve the best for every role and requirement, and as a result, he had a long debate with the producers at Paramount about different opinions.

At this time, it was almost February, and Paramount had already invested considerable resources and funds to start promoting "Face/Off" and it was scheduled to hit the big screen on June 27. After deducting the time for post-production and internal advance viewings, there were only three months left.

In this situation, he must guarantee his rights as a directoor and must not be restricted by Paramount producers anymore, even if it means breaking up with them.

"Mr. Woo, since everyone is here, let's get started. However, I would like Lawrence to audition first. After all, our time is precious."

David Permut walked over slyly, not caring about the looks of other people in the crew, and spoke directly to John Woo.

John Woo raised his head calmly, thinking back to what Rowan had just said, the corners of his mouth curled up slightly, and he nodded and whispered softly: "No problem, then it depends on their performance."

With slight smile, David Permut sat down and stared at the scene in front of the camera. However, he suddenly felt uneasy in his heart. John Woo was too quiet. The major Hollywood film companies all held a distrustful attitude towards this director from the otherside of the ocean. After all, the cultural gap between the two sides was very obvious.

And a very important point is that every place has certain degree of exclusivity this year. No matter who you are, you can only win respect of Hollywood after achieving success.

Everything is based on interest. Although the six major Hollywood companies have great confidence in outside industry personnel, it is in everyone's nature to seize power from the crew.

This is not just a matter of power, but fundamentally driven by interests Just as David Permut was daydreaming, a nimble figure walked out of the locker room.

Out of fairness, Rowan and Martin Lawrence each received their own scripts. There was no stipulation on which part they needed to perform and they were free to choose their own strengths.

The audition room was chosen to be in a model room that had already been built. This was the lair of the drug lord Troy. It was decorated magnificently and had a nouveau riche vibe.

He was wearing a dark jacket and a pair of sunglasses. His black hood hid a pair of cold eyes. He leaned forward, rolled flexibly, pulled out the pistol in his hand, pointed it forward and pulled the trigger.

Then he turned sideways to hide in

the bunker next to him, turned his eyes to watch the enemy in front of him, listened to the swift footsteps approaching, Martin Lawrence raised the gun and quickly pullled the trigger.

Martin Lawrence's movement were quite skillful, obviously he had undergone a long period of training. David Permut nodded secretly, which showed that Martin Lawrence did not slack off in his daily life.

Moreover, thanks to his previous role in "Bad Boys", he is not too unfamiliar with the use of weapons.

He turned his head involuntarily and looked at John Woo, who had a calm face on the other side. The latter did not show any expression and looked calm. David Permut groaned in his heart and touched his handkerchief calmly.

*Crack*

Martin Lawrence dodged the attack and smashed the glass in front of him. He said to the people coming from behind, "Troy, go quickly. Leave this to me!"

Then the whole audition room fell into silence. David turned his head and looked at the two people who came in. He couldn't help but chuckled, and then asked jokingly "Cage and John are here, how is Lawrence's performance?"

The two people who walked in were the two main characters of "Face/Off" Nicolas Cage and John Travolta. The former is an Oscar winner and a first-tier star who is about to

enter the 20 million club, while the latter is a rising star who has just stepped into the ranks of second-tier stars thanks to "Broken Arrow" directed by John Woo.

Although the two have good identities they won't offend anyone easily. Nicolas Cage smiled towards David and said pertinently "Very skillfully movements. He must have been preparing for a long time."
