Spring 24 – Month 5 – Year 2001
Dean went to bed quite early and thanks to that, he woke up early. After he woke up, he did some exercise in his exercise room and cooked himself a simple breakfast. While eating breakfast, he read the bounce skill book.
In order to learn skill, human first needed to find a skill from a monster that was compatible to them. Human cannot learn skill if they were not compatible with the monster where the skill came from.
The skill can be gained from the skill book dropped by monsters. Even if human gained the skill book, it did not mean that they can learn the skill. Learning skill was not like game where you get skill automatically. The skill book actually contained the instructions on how to learn the skill.
Human needed to follow the instructions and learned the skill step by step. Once they had fully mastered the skill, the skill will be registered by the system and human can used it simply by calling the skill name. Calling the skill name in mind was enough to activate the skill.
For a normal grade skill, it will usually take one to two weeks of constant training to gained the skill. The higher the skill grade, the harder it was to learn it.
Dean skimmed through the bounce skill instructions while he was having his breakfast. He thought it will be easy but it was much more complicated than he thought. He needed to control his energy properly, having the right fitness, precise movement and etc.
Dean asked Sys if there were shortcuts in learning skill and Sys flatly said no. Sys told Dean that he did not need to rush himself. If he screwed up, he needed to start learning it all over again. Dean sighed at what Sys said.
Dean put the skill book back inside his storage and realized that there was an item he did not recognize. He took out that item. It was a small cube of white crystal.
"Sys, what is this crystal?" Dean asked Sys while he was holding the crystal and curiously looked at it.
'That is another reward you get from killing the virus' said Sys nonchalantly.
"Why didn't you told me about this crystal?" asked Dean with suspicious gazed.
'… I forgot about it. That thing had been in your storage for a long time, you should be able to find it yourself. Do not blame me for not telling you' said Sys.
"How can you forget about many things? Aren't you part of the system?" asked Dean curiously.
'Ehem- The system can make mistake too' said Sys. Dean stared at his system suspiciously.
'Anyway, that crystal is call the limit breaker crystal,' said Sys.
"Limit breaker? What does the crystal do?" asked Dean again. He looked at the crystal and there was nothing special about it.
'The crystal is use to break a limit of skill and pet. You should know that there is a limit to skill. People usually abandon weaker skills once they get stronger skills. With limit breaker crystal, you can break your skill limit and train it to become stronger on par with the already available stronger skill. This item is useful for people who cannot find strong skill with their compatibility' explained Sys.
"How about pet?"
'Pet has the same grade as monster. Pet cannot evolve to higher grade no matter what you do. This crystal will help you evolve your pet to higher grade'
"What is the catch? Something this good must have some sort of limit. Once a week?" asked Dean. He knew that something that good must have some drawback.
'With your ability, the limit is not really a limit. You need to feed it with monster soul of the same grade in order to use it. For example, if you want to increase your bounce skill limit, you need to feed the crystal with monster soul of the same grade as your skill and use it on your skill' said Sys.
"That is better than I thought," said Dean. He was quite happy when Sys said he only needed monster soul to use the crystal. He had lots of slime soul in his storage.
'But when you use the crystal, you won't be able to use your skill for some time until it finishes upgrading your skill' added Sys.
"How long it will take usually?" asked Dean.
'I am not sure about that. I think it will depend on what kind of skill you upgrade and the skill grade' said Sys, 'By the way, you are not going to try the skill add-on?' asked Sys.
"Let me finish my breakfast first," Dean quickly finished his breakfast. He cleaned the dishes and took the teleporter to his room in camp 7. Dean opened his monster creation system. Dean put the elite grade green slime core in the core slot and put the bounce skill in the add-on slot.
Sys showed Dean what it looked like. Dean's face was unchanged.
"It looks the same as normal green slime. Nothing is different about it," said Dean.
'No, it is different than normal green slime,' said Sys. 'Since your breakthrough to elite grade, your creation system has become a bit advance. Now you can see the monster description. I forgot to tell you this before because you got too excited about your new slime'
"Different? Show me the description," asked Dean. Sys quickly showed Dean the new slime descriptions. A new screen with explanation about the new slime appeared in front of Dean.
'This slime has rubbery body. It has higher endurance than common green slime'
"Rubbery body? Okay, that sound like real mutations. Sys, show me the stats," asked Dean. Sys showed Dean the new slime stats.

Skills: 1. Bounce2 2. Push Back (passive)
Item: green rubber pillow, skill books.
Dean was shocked with what he saw. "Bounce 2? A stronger version of bounce? And another passive skill," Dean was totally excited with what he found. "But then, it will be a waste of time if I learn the bounce skill if I can get myself the bounce 2 skill."
'Well, here is another function of limit breaker crystal. You can use the crystal to change your skill to a stronger version if you are in possessions of the stronger version skill book' said Sys.
"The crystal is really useful. I need to learn bounce and I will get the bounce 2 skill and upgrade my bounce skill. Sys, create this slime. I will name it the Rubber Slime," said Dean. Sys processed what Dean wanted and created the rubber slime. Dean made a big smile as he was excited with a stronger skill.
After Dean created the rubber slime, he went back to his home using the teleporter. He went straight to his home backyards and started practicing bounce.
Spring was almost over and soon summer will come. The surrounding temperature had started rising a bit as summer was closed.
Summer 3rd – Month 1 – Year 2001
After two weeks of training his bounce skill, Dean finally got a notification from his system.
'Congratulations. You master bounce skill' with the notification, Dean can now use a skill. Dean checked his skill status.
Bounce (normal) [1/4] – attack 0.1, speed, 0.1.
When Dean saw his skill stat, his face changed. The maximum level of a single skill was 10 but Dean's bounce maximum level was 4.
"Sys, how can I advance my skill to higher grade if my level limit is 4?" Dean asked Sys. Dean was full of sweat from training his bounce skill under the summer temperature.
'The limit breaker crystal will break that limit. I already told you this two weeks ago' said Sys. Dean nodded his head. He went inside his home and drank some water to dehydrate. He took out the limit breaker crystal and a slime soul from his storage. He put the slime soul near the crystal and the crystal absorbed the soul.
Dean used the crystal on his bounce skill and the crystal disappeared. The bounce skill on his system turned red indicating that it was upgrading. Dean cannot use the skill until it finished upgrading.
Due to the summer heat, Dean took off his shirt and landed on his sofa. Dean closed his eyes for a few minutes and then he checked the internet.
For the past two weeks, after he finished his training, Dean had been checking the internet to find news about his rabbit coat slime and rubber slime. However, there was still no news about it. Sys told Dean that the two slimes must had been living somewhere hard to reach.
Sys speculated that the rabbit coat slime might be living in cold area like snowy mountain area due to one of its skills being cold resistance. However, Sys had no clue where the rubber slime can be found.
Dean got a bit worried if he cannot find his creation in an easier to reach location. If his creation appeared at a place with many strong monsters, he will be in big trouble to become stronger.
