Chapter 3: Break down
Victoria was kicked out of the house by her family with no place to turn to. Suddenly, she gave a loud scream and fell to the ground. She started reminiscing about the old good days with her family when her mother was still the most amazing woman on earth, she remembered when she fell down a tree and her mother stayed up all night massaging her leg even after the doctor confirmed she was fine.
She kept asking herself what went wrong, when did they fall apart. The only explanation she could find was that she was having a nightmare and she will only wake up if she hit herself so she kept hitting herself for God knows how long but she was still unable to wake up. Passerby thought she was crazy so they sneered at her and started badmouthing her but Victoria was in her own world.
Suddenly she got up like an idea just struck her and she kept walking fast to the Sea, One thing was on her mind commit suicide and you shall wake up so she went there put her bag down and shouted to the air "am coming mother" so she jumped into the water. 'splash'.
Victoria knew she can't swim so she choice that option. While she was in the water she closed her eyes and started losing her consciousness when she felt an hand lift her up to the surface. She felt someone doing a mouth to mouth for her and her eyelid flushed open and behold there he was just few inches away from her staring at her with his eyes and angelic face but she followed his line of sight and discovered he was staring at her boobs which were kinda showing due to her wet clothes.
'pervert' was all she could say while giving him a bitter look.
'hey young lady that's not what you say to someone who just saved you' the young man refuted back.
Victoria was pissed off about her current situation already so she could only vent her anger on him 'do you really want a thank you or something else pervert because it doesn't seem like you want a thank you and who asked you to save me, did I ask you that you want a thank, well you aren't getting one. mtcheeew'.
Victoria took her bag with her wet clothes without looking at him again. She hailed a taxi and moved to her best friend house Alexia.
Alexia family are not that wealthy but they are financially okay they are a typical middle class family with just two kids, they own a mini grocery store and they sell pretty well. Alexia and Victoria have been friends since their middle school so they share secrets with each other and help each other.
Victoria got to Alexia house and luckily for her she ran into Alexia at the entrance. Alexia was stunned seeing Victoria in this way she immediately asked her to come her. Victoria changed into a new set of cloth and narrated her ordeal to Alexia who couldn't help but curse Victoria family.
'what are you going to do now cause you know you have to go to college so any plans but don't worry about your place to stay and feeding we will cover that up for you but college is not really that simple but if it gets to hard we could split my own fee into two and study part time' Alexia told Victoria
Victoria felt touched by Alexia word because even when the world turned it's back on her Alexia was there to support her, she felt really grateful to Alexia and her family so she told Alexia "there is still five month before the fee deadline am going to do odd job like washing clothes for people, delivery lady, lemonade stand and also babysitting so I'll raise enough money".
"I knew my vicky is smart so I'll also help you out with the job I can be in charge of babysitting and the drycleaning service. What do you think".
"Thanks Alexia I am sorry for the problems am going to cause you I can't help but feel guilty" Victoria finally told Alexia how she felt after what Alexia said
"Vicky don't worry about that I know you'd the same for me but quit this brooding let's go have lunch are you not starving and am pretty sure you did not eat breakfast so let's go" Alexia tugged Victoria to the dinning table so as to stop Victoria from feeling guilty and brooding over her family.
Alexia went to the kitchen to meet her parents and explained everything to them and they felt really bad for Victoria.

At the dinning table Alexia mom Mrs Morrison broke the awkward silence by asking Victoria if she liked the food.
Victoria smiled and said " it taste really nice aunt maybe some day you will teach me how to cook like this, it is far more delicious than those expensive restaurants who cooks food just to rob their customers of their money. Aunt you should definitely be a chef and have a restaurant too."
Mrs Morrison could not help but blush at Victoria world " You know I have always wanted to be a chef but due to some financial problems I can't but am glad you enjoyed my food from now I'll always cook anything you want just name it you are my favorite now. wink"
Alexia brother Jason felt jealous and said "Mom you have never cooked what I asked you to cook for me and now you are throwing me away that's not fair I was your favorite now am not but I won't give up that easily. Alexia can you believe Mom she is really throwing me away and now she is picking food for Vicky, sobs sobs"
Everyone at the table laughed at this scenario and soon the table was filled with their chatting and laughter. They looked like the perfect family of five far away from the trouble of life.
