Long Journey Home

I’d just gotten home from the bar.

After a shower and some food, I was kicking back on the couch watching some magic Kungfu flick on Netflix.

That Monkey king always makes me laugh.

I was half awake when I noticed the dude on screen looking at the audience, he seemed all serious.

Then I sat up straight. The dude was talking, to me. Wtf?!

“Jake, you ready for my next great mischief?”

I rubbed my eyes and then turned off the TV.

‘That’s it, no more kungfu tonight.’

I got off the couch and just as I turned toward the bed, the TV turned back on...

“You aren’t getting away that easy!” Monkey King laughed.

As I looked over my shoulder all I saw was a bright light and then darkness.

Abducted from his home in Texas. Jake now faces a world of magic, kungfu, prideful warriors, cold eyed women, and a long path back to his couch and favorite Bar.

Assuming he survives all that and the Antics of the Monkey King, hopefully, he will make it back.
