PokèMorph System

Hearing a voice in his head speaking so suddenly, Clyde was very startled. He tried to find the source of the voice but he cannot find it. He was the only person in his room and his parents did not put any speakers of some sort into his room so voices coming from those devices would be impossible.

"Where did that voice come from?" Clyde asked himself.

"Do you mean me?" He heard the voice speaking again.

Startled again due to the reply, Clyde was lost for words for a few seconds. After realizing his daze, he immediately said "Wait, wait..." He paused for a bit, he then thought of two important questions to ask "First, Are you in my head? Second, how are you talking to me?" Clyde curiously asked.

"Yes, I'm in your head, but I'm located at your subconsciousness specifically. I am able to talk to you by releasing the same frequency as the brain waves that your brain releases." The voice answered in an emotionless tone.

"Ah, like how the radio works. They set the same frequency in order to communicate. However, in our case, it's the brain waves that has the same frequency. Hmm... But wait... How did you get in into my subconsciousness? Who are you?" Clyde asked after realizing the answer to his earlier question.

"It's from the car crash you experienced just before transmigrating into this world. The driver of the car was playing the newly released Pokémon Go game when he hit you. The driver was capturing a Pikachu, and when he managed to capture it, the phone released frequencies in order to send the information to the data cloud. However, the brain frequencies that your brain released during your adrenaline rush was coincidentally at the same frequency with what the phone released." After taking a pause, the voice continued in order introduce itself.

"I am Morpheus, an Artificial Intelligence in charge of the PokèMorph System that was created through the combination of brain waves and the radio waves that occurred in the car accident." Then Morpheus stopped talking after answering his questions. Clyde focused at Morpheus' voice. He seemed to notice that Morpheus has neither a manly nor a womanly voice but rather neutral one, without any hint of gender present in it. It speaks in a robotic tone without any hint of emotions.

Clyde then thought about what Morpheus said. It said that the man who literally drove over him to death was playing Pokémon Go. Wait... Pokémon Go? He suddenly remembered "Ah... so that's why I felt like I forgot something before! It's the release of Pokémon Go! I was hoping to play that game when it was already available to play. But I was too preoccupied with school and training." Clyde then pondered about his circumstance. It was all too coincidental, however, they do make sense if you consider it in a scientific point of view. Maybe what happened to him could be a breakthrough in the field of technology? As Clyde was thinking about certain things, Morpheus suddenly asked a question.

"Will you now bind with the system?" Asked Morpheus in the same emotionless tone.

"Wait, before answering that, I need to know what system would I bind myself with. Can you please explain what is the PokeMorph System to me?" Clyde asked.

"The PokèMorph System is a tool to assist you in your ventures in the Pokémon world. It would enable you to polymorph into different kinds of Pokémon depending on the situation. Now to further understand the system, you must first bind yourself with it in order to experience it firsthand. Again, would you now bind with the system?"

"Yes." Clyde answered straight away. Even after clarifying things, he was not sure about what would happen to him. He thought that there may be uncertainties, however what happened to him was already a miracle feat. What could happen if he already experienced death? He has nothing to lose, and if he doesn't take the risk now, when would he will? As they say, no pay, no gain. You gotta risk if you want to win.

"Establishing connection between host and the system...." Morpheus stated.

However, even after a while, there was still no results showing. Clyde waited for an hour, but there was still nothing. By the time another hour passed, "Morpheus! Are you done yet?" Clyde asked, when Morpheus' voice was suddenly heard but not in his usual emotionless tone. He sounded rather urgent and rushed.

"Establishing connection failed! Activation energy required is not enough. Dormant state of the system would be implemented until it reaches its required activation energy." Morpheus stated until his voice faded away in his mind.

"Wait! Morpheus! Hey! PokèMorph System!" Clyde repeatedly called the system's attention for an hour; however, it bears no fruit. Not even one. Giving up after an hour, Clyde decided to try on calling it again on another time, but for now, Clyde would try to get his so much needed rest. Sleepiness came upon Clyde as it dragged him into slumber.

Waking up, Clyde sleepily rubbed his eyes. Being a one year old, he doesn't have much to do besides exploring and reading. His parents won't even let him near a Pokémon! Recalling what happened yesterday, Clyde remembered the existence of Morpheus and the PokeMorph System. He tried calling it again and again however it gave no response. Giving up, Clyde just read more about the world around him and most especially Pokémon.

This scenario repeatedly happened for about a month. Clyde then realized that even if he communicated with Morpheus now, he could not use the system since it said that he lacks the so called "Activation Energy". It's just that Clyde was very intrigued and somehow comforted that he knows what happened to him and someone knows what happened to him, if even though that someone is an it, which is Morpheus. Clyde did not put the system into mind and concluded that whatever would happen, will happen.

After a deal, breastfeeding time with his mom ended just after his first birthday. Clyde requested to his mom that he should drink breast milk from a bottle and not directly from her. Even his mom did not agree, Clyde still convinced his mother that he was big now, which was very ironic since he is only a year old. Eventually her mom agreed that he could drink breast milk from the bottle but with a trade that he must kiss her in the cheeks once a day. Speaking of his mom, Clyde did not see his parents for about a month now, just right after the day of his birthday.

Finding that their presence has been long gone, Clyde then asked his grandpa about his parents' absence in their house.

"Your mom and dad are Pokémon researchers. They research about the habitats and types of Pokémons and their research base is located at Mt. Moon. About a month ago, before your birthday, they found new discoveries in Mt. Moon which could help in the current research they are conducting. They just let your birthday pass first before going back to the research base. I'm quite shocked that you eventually remembered them now since it's been a month and all that you've been doing was reading books, don't you agree with me, Clyde?" Grandpa Michael jokingly asked right after he explained his parent's situation.

"I just only noticed it today, since I just finished a book regarding the common habitats of certain Pokémon species...." Clyde shyly explained to his grandpa.

"Oh Clyde, you seem to like reading books, yes?" asked Grandpa Michael.

"Yes! It interests me to know the world, most especially the Pokémons themselves!" Clyde excitingly exclaimed.

"That's good. It is nice to have curiosity for the world around you, just make sure to not read until midnight because it will cause you to wear glasses by the time you grow up." Grandpa Michael advised his grandson sternly.

"Yes grandpa. I'll make sure to not read at night and sleep before 10 p.m." Clyde responded.

"Okay, now come with me and I'll show you somewhere you'll definitely like," Grandpa Michael then carried Clyde in his arms then eventually went out the house. Clyde then wrapped his arms around his Grandpa's neck in order to secure his position and so that he won't off balance and fall off. Clyde saw that his grandpa was carrying him to the big light house right next to their home.

The light house was around 100 meters tall and the diameter was around 30 meters. He noticed that the light house's beacon was turned on. Curious, Clyde asked his grandpa "Why are the beacons turned on? Aren't they supposed to be turned off during the day and only on during the night and rainy seasons?"

"Clyde, the reason for that is because of Bill's research. You better talk to him about that light house and not me. He can explain it to you better." Grandpa Michael answered.

After answering Clyde's question, his grandpa then led him towards the door of the light house. The door of the light house was a double one. It was made of stone, thick slabs around 3 meters thick and 8 meters tall and 5 meters long per door. The doors were carved with different kinds of Pokémon, most which Clyde were familiar with. The Pokémon were carved inside a square, which were repeated throughout the pattern of the door.

Opening the big double doors, Clyde saw the inside of the light house. It was like a room of a stone castle, where polished slabs of stone made up the walls. There were stone pillars supporting the sides and a staircase in the middle, which is going upwards that leads up to the beacon.

"Quite grand, don't you think?" Grandpa Michael asked Clyde.

"It's like a medieval castle Gramps!" Clyde exclaimed.

"Ah, you've seen it in your books, haven't you? Anyways, the light house is more than what it seems. When you go in the 3rd pillar on the right wall, you could see a slight dent near on a stone slab near the floor. Now, if you see that, kick or press it and see if something would happen." Grandpa Michael then put Clyde who was in his arms down on the floor.

Clyde looked at the pillars near the right wall. There 9 pillars located at the right, and Clyde approached the third one. Looking closely, he saw a dent on one of the stone slabs right near the floor. Being a one year old, Clyde's height was only around three fourths of a meter. Checking the dent again, Clyde tried to push the slab as he can't kick it yet because he might fall without a proper sense of balance. As he pushed the slab, a sound was heard, as if the stones were moving.

"Rumble...." This sound was heard as an opening was seen on the right side of the pillar. Spiral stairways were seen instead of the ground and it was leading underground. Looking back at his grandpa, who nodded back at him, Clyde tried to climb down the stairs carefully, since his limbs were short, he got down the stairs slowly.

The path was lighted up by lamps that was hooked on the walls, candlelight being the only source of light in the staircase. The stairs were quite short, and Clyde finished climbing down the stairs that was only circling twice.

After a few minutes, a floor was seen before a door. The door was similar with the doors of the light house, carved with squares that contains different kinds of Pokémon. Clyde then saw his grandpa right behind him. Grandpa Michael pushed the door opened and what Clyde saw left him dumbstrucked.

Just gave a little bit of introduction with the system but I will give more in the next few chapters. Now, I'm starting to show what Clyde would do while growing up. Any guesses what could be behind the door?
