Chapter 42: 42 World Evolution Part 2 (Creation)

I sat a little straighter, swallowing the last bite of my shawarma. "Spagetti, what kind of relationship do you have with your world? You have no church, so you're not trying to cultivate a divine image. What do you get out of it?"

He cocked his head, thinking. "Being the god has benefits even without cultivating divinity. I'm intrinsically bound to the world, so the God System lets me gain the highest level of whatever power manifests, and I keep it even if the power wielder dies. I also get feat points from various feats performed in my world, with which I can buy upgrades for myself, my god domain, and my world. If I get enough I can buy a second world, though the more complicated ones are more expensive. That's part of why I was thinking to go with the Zombie System Apocalypse - the conflict would undoubtedly lead to more feats."

I nodded. "One last question. Did you black out when your world was created?" I was assuming his Will was hijacked and used to create his world, but I needed confirmation.

He looked startled, but nodded. "Yes. How is that relevant?" Oh boy, I'm happy my System is not as limiting as his.

I looked him in the eye. "I believe your Will is what Defined your world out of Possibility. You are bound to your world because you created it, albeit with your System's 'assistance'. Therefore, I would suggest that the option giving you the most personal power and control would be the one integrating a System with every part of your world. That would basically make you a more independent part of your System, as your Will would be what was implementing it in your world."

"However, after hearing about your feat points, I would suggest taking the Dungeon World with the additional System integration option. That would give you all the feat points you want. The Gate World option might not give you points, since the Gates are really just portals to mini realities that might not be counted as part of your world."

"Wait." Spagetti frowned at me. "I can't do that. Insufficient mana levels, remember?"

I smirked at him. "Remember how we increased them in the first place?"

His eyes widened. "Oh."

We watched him disappear through the door and then the portal, moving faster than would be possible if our domains obeyed the laws of physics from my home world. I sighed, summoning a bottle of Sprite to my hand. I looked at my girls to see how they were holding up.

Diamond recovered her composure, but Robin was still shaking and silent. "So that was our god. Huh. Didn't seem like such a bad guy, just a little absorbed." Diamond took a long pull of her Smirnoff, her hands trembling ever so slightly.

I wrapped my arms around Robin, using spatial manipulation to ignore the distance between us. "Calm down love. Spagetti's is my friend. He'll make sure your village makes it through the apocalypse ok." She relaxed, tried to instinctively lean against me, and startled upright when she realized the mind bending manner with which I embraced her.

I spared some attention to connect with the Force, resonating with my other two bodies and feeling this body's power rise exponentially. I had to run a few tests in the VMD to be able to accommodate the additional power without destroying large swaths of Reality. I then boosted Spagetti a bit, as I wanted his mana troubles solved sooner rather than later.

Focusing back on my girls, who had broken free of Spagetti's fear effect after the shock of being grabbed at the same time without me moving from my spot, I smiled triumphantly. "I love it when a plan come together!"

We finished our food and left the eatery. "So this is what Heaven looks like. It needs some renovation, but it's not too bad as it is." I definitely needed to make it more varied. We gazed out over the endless orchards from our magnificent mountaintop view.

I focused on Diamond and Robin, wondering what critiques they had. Diamond was wondering if the orchards ever ended, but was quite happy with the fresh citrus smells on top of the scent of roasting shawarma from the eatery. She did want to have an obstacle course as well as a normal bed in a house. She also caught me looking and flashed me a rather incredible scene. I considered it. The only problem would be that it would require all three of my bodies in one place. Then again, spatial distance was a mere inconvenience to me. Hmmm.

Robin just wanted some variety. The monotonous forest of orchards looked wrong to her, as she was used to wildness of her forest from her home village. I frowned. I guess we would have to build a house. I wondered why my angels had not done anything themselves yet, and realized that they did not want to ruin the forest I created.

I snorted and spoke with my Preservation voice. "Construction in Heaven is allowed so long as there remain three miles of trees in every square mile. Builder Team Hive, please report to the mountaintop. Your achievements in Moonlink's practice area have earned you the right to become my official Builders." My Preservation voice was really pleasant to listen to. It carried the sense of love and intimate connection, and filled every part of the body.

I looked at Robin and Diamond. "I leave the planning of our home in Heaven to you. Go as crazy as you like. System, please assist them."

A System angel landed next to Diamond and Robin. "My lady and my lady, would you prefer to become a new user or just speak with me verbally?"

"Check your connections System," I told it. "Diamond is already a user, courtesy of our Soul Meld. Robin, if you become a user you can create whatever you like, so it might be more handy. System is linked to me, so you'll be able to talk to me directly if you link up as well."

Robin turned and glared at me. "Where are you going?" She was upset that I'd leave her even before the World Evolution of her home world was settled.

I gave her and Diamond lingering hugs. "I need to go make sure that my world is ok. I'm a little worried about its spatial integrity. I'll be right back."

Diamond just waved her hand. While we weren't even close to becoming one yet, we were now attached enough that we each knew whatever was happening to the other. Robin looked still upset but nodded. She would find a way to get back at me later. I smirked. Good luck with that.

"System, analyze my original spatial coordinates and feed them to me. It's time I thanked Max Stallone for his little push." I reached out and stepped back into my school.

A god's external influence is dampened mightily when the background support for it is not as strong.
