Nevaeh grasped Loki's arm, which was feeling unrealistically cold inside the icy water. She bent down to kneel on the sea-floor next to him, whipping him around and straightening his unusually heavy body.
Loki's face was a blinding white. His skin was as pale as a person who hasn't seen sunshine for a decade. His lips had turned blue and were horribly shrivelled while Nevaeh's started sobbing. They were at the core of the enormous ocean; she couldn't possibly take him out of the water as quickly as she needed to in this dreadful moment.
'Loki!' Nevaeh shrieked, unable to contain the word inside her mouth. She dropped her wand from between her teeth and caught it by her hand. She quickly glanced at the bubbles her word had created and pointed her wand towards one of them.
Nevaeh's heart was thumping so loudly that she could hear it drum in her ears. Her hands were shaking wildly. The bubble vanished, popping in the sea. Nevaeh quickly caught another one.
Her wand was trembling along with her hands as the bubble grew bigger, and bigger. Nevaeh slowly pulled her wand in a tight manner, grunting a little as she did so.
The bubble was increasing enormously and its insides grew hollow. Nevaeh kept her wand as still as possible. She kept inflating the bubble while repeatedly glancing at a rigid Loki. The bubble was finally of a huge, circular shape, more than large enough to envelop both of them.
As soon as the bubble was big enough, Nevaeh again took her wand between her teeth and grabbed Loki's waist with both her hands, lifting him up with all her strength. She became frantic when she wondered if he was this heavy due to the water that had gotten inside of him.
Nevaeh glanced at a limp Loki as she carried him upwards, who was wrapped in her arms like a lifeless doll. She was losing her breath; Loki was way heavier than anything she had ever lifted, but they were hardly a few inches away from the bubble. Their bodies grew colourless for a mere second when they touched the bubble and entered it, making it fall splashing on the sea bed and spin a little as though it were made of plastic.
Nevaeh hastily dropped her wand and kneeled next to Loki while taking a huge lungful of air. She touched two trembling fingers on Loki's neck, who seemed to have no pulse.
'Loki! Wake up!' sobbed Nevaeh.
She was crying heavily as she felt his piercingly frozen skin. Tears rolled down her eyes as she stared at his blue shrivelled lips which were looking as though he had suffocated.
'Loki!' She pushed his chest with all the strength she could muster, but he was growing stiffer by the moment.
'Oh – my – God! Loki! Wake up!' sobbed Nevaeh, taking her wand in her trembling hands, with a piercing burning sensation rising inside her heart. She pointed her wand on his head while choking heavily in her breaths. A gold beam pierced his skull. His face twinkled gold before disappearing all together.
Nothing happened. He did not wake up.
'Oh my God! – Oh my – God! Please – Loki!' she sobbed.
Nevaeh shook him again, but he was looking lifeless, making her hysterical. She sat over him while clutching his face, and repeated her charm, this time pointing the wand at his heart instead. She closed her eyes tightly, channelling all her energy into trying to heal him, but his torso merely glowed a hint of gold before disappearing all together, leaving him as limp and unmoving as before.
Loki's lips were turning frostier.
Nevaeh tried healing him by pointing the wand at his temple, his hands, even his neck. She tried giving him a shock. She transferred her mystical energy into him. But nothing worked. Not a single charm worked. Nevaeh opened her bloodshot eyes and glanced down at his unmoving face, her mouth wide open as she cried. She had never felt so helpless in her entire life. None of her healing charms were working. She didn't know what else to do.
'Please – wake – up! If you – die – I will– kill you,' she kept crying shrilly and beating Loki hard on his chest. She watched distractedly and noticed that her own chest was blinking a twinkle of gold, since who knows how long. Nevaeh was sobbing hysterically, glancing down at her own body. Her chest kept glowing gold and she again felt that burning sensation brimming inside her heart, but she didn't care. Loki was not waking up – and nothing else mattered. Nevaeh was too much in pain to wonder about what the hell was going on with her body.
She clutched Loki's back, hugging him tightly. 'Please, Loki – don't – don't – die please!' she kept sobbing, her tears flooding his already sopping wet chest as she kept slapping her hand over him. The scalding hurt inside her heart was rising along with her cries of pain.
'You – can't – die — I – will – go – crazy—'
There was no heart beat inside Loki's body. She had her eyes tightly closed as she kissed his forehead amidst her sobs. Nevaeh could hear the emptiness ringing inside of him as she lay over him as though holding onto his life solely by her hands. She saw a hint of light reflect in front of her tightly shut eyes. She slowly opened her eyes to watch Loki's chest glowing gold beneath her.
Nevaeh was choking in her tears. She shifted her arm on Loki's hand which was glowing gold as well. She tilted her head upwards and gasped, straightening up hastily and letting go off a Loki whose entire body was glowing the purest gold.
Loki's body was bathed in golden light as though it was emitting from within him, his lips slowly turning pink, and his hair glowing dark. The feel of blood was returning inside his skin as his cheeks grew brighter, flushing his face in warmth. Nevaeh knew it the instant he started glowing that he was regenerating beneath her. She had never seen a healing force as bright as the one glowing in front of her. Nevaeh hastily got off of a slightly twitching Loki and watched him glow with bated, yet choking breaths.
A glowing Loki snapped his eyes open and took a lungful of air, making an audible sound as though he were still drowning.
'Oh, Loki! Are you okay?' shrieked Nevaeh, holding his head as he tried to lift it, coughing and gasping.
Loki gasped for breath, sitting up slowly and looking at Nevaeh through wide eyes, unable to say anything. Nevaeh grasped his head and shook him a little as she sobbed heavily.
'Oh my God! Loki, please say something,' Nevaeh said desperately, looking at him tearfully. He dizzily squinted at her glowing body.
'I am one, but not the kind that grants wishes,' Loki chuckled, coughing a little.
Nevaeh had no idea what he meant by that, but the sight of him uttering actual words, when he was unmoving a few moments ago, made her laugh. She embraced him tightly as though he had been silent for an eternity...
