Chapter 4: Don't Dig The Past Up

With a click of a button I left my fate in the hands of RNG. At least I would be getting two weapons and not just one since I obviously used both.

*Congratulations host you have received the Fire Axe Melee Weapon.*

*Congratulations host you have received Us Shovel Melee Weapon.*

I dropped to the ground in tears. At least I could be a Lumberjack professionally now! Even if they were great utilities for a person who had nothing to his name. Summoning my shovel in the room I was in I found that it had the basic starting "Camo" from the game. I wonder... looking through the missions I found different ones for equip-able Camos for my "weapon." 'Interesting,' I mutter to myself.

Realizing how easily entertained I was I quickly shook my head to get my mind off of it. I needed a second mission. But the issue was. All the rewards for missions I could do were now limited durability trash. Well except for ammunition. But I would probably spend more doing whatever stupid mission they had for me then what I would make. I needed something else. Training. But as a homeless man stuck in the middle of New York with a seemingly crappy superpower as most weren't known to grow stronger with use I had no idea what to do. Looking at my shovel and axe I noticed something interesting. When I focused on the weapon I got a list of stats and its level which showed its "attributes" in various manners as a weapon. But what use was levels in this system as I could buy reflex sights and other things for my weapons from the shop or earn them.

Clicking on the level a pop up informed me of something I couldn't help but smile when I read.

Us Shovel Lv.1- For each level in this weapon you'll gain a 1% boost to your passive digging speed and 1% boost to your passive strength.

Looking similarly at my axe I found the same situation.

Fire Axe Lv.1- For each level in this weapon you'll gain a passive 1% boost in cutting through plant based materials and a passive 1% boost in strength.

Basically with enough kills I had the potential to be as strong as I wanted. I also quickly discovered unlike the games this system had no level limit.

Clicking on a second mission I mentally prepared myself for what was to come.

--------------------------------------------------Line Break---------------------------------------

I found myself on a stage called life hoping to pull the curtains closed before they showed my soon to be last moments. _49qfopaj

The statement cold as ice rung out into the air. And with it I found myself in a theater one I recognized from Black Ops 1. Looking at the crowd a man sat there peacefully and looked up at me with a smile. "Vwell, Vwell, Vwell look at ze vittle kitty lost on its vwaaaay home. You really shouldn't go prying into stories so deeply should we? Or you might find something.... Unpleasant..." With a smirk the man I knew to be Richtofen or at least A Richtofen fizzled out of what I assumed was this dimensional plane.

*Host needn't worry. The system will prevent any minor diety from following you home or directly killing you in a mission that isn't directly killing said diety P(*H_D+*

Sighing I got to work Killing zombies. My mission... Survive to round 5... easy surely right. Especially now that I have weapons... I hate myself. Taking out my Axe and joining the Bacca squad I found myself slightly grinning. I did actually enjoy the challenge now that it wasn't completely unreasonable.

---------------------boop_------------------

I had survived. I had killed all the zombies with no fuss and unlike my first mission wasn't placed into some precarious situation from accidentally leaving the map, which in this case was the stage noticed by a glowing green area on a mini map I just noticed that popped into existence when necessary for missions. I honestly wished I had noticed it last mission, but the fire had taken up too much of my mental capacity on how to put it out.

Still, now I could claim my reward from the first mission reward of the "Possessed" mission line. And low and behold my reward was a Welling Pistol. A pretty good pistol in real life but according to the stats of the game one of the worst weapons. Maybe i'd find a way to turn it into its pack-a-punched form. I doubted it. Especially considering the gun came with only 20 bullets and 40 shots worth of durability. What was interesting was that I noticed a level on it as well. But it didn't give any passive stats like my melees.

*The levels carry between the same weapons host. That's why there's a level on your Welling. If you get another Welling their levels will be linked. If you gain any summons however and you give them weapons or they give you weapons the levels will be corresponding to the person you gave it to. Also each level no matter the weapon will always give a 1% damage booster to the weapon per level. That means a level 100 shovel or welling will be twice as powerful as a normal one when shot by you.*

It was an interesting discovery, and one I would use in the future. For now however, I was more concerned about the strength boost.
