Chapter 4: The Mountain King's Plight

Wilson was awe struck at the giant before him, not only did the mountain he lived by had a king but the king was a stone giant who could probably move trees without caring. As Wilson looked at Lionel with awe and bewilderment, Roux turned towards the king and continued. " And Lionel you will have to speak softly, I brought a friend who is human your booming voice will hurt his young ears". After she finished speaking, she went to Wilson and covered his ears once again but this time she used some of her power to help heal his ears from the harsh pounding sounds they had too endure to get there. Wilson got up and couldn't feel the pain in his ears anymore, "Thanks Roux I feel much better but why is the Mountain King mad?' he asked as he got behind Roux to shelter him. "Mountain King, Why are you pounding your foot with so much anger? What has happened"? The Mountain King got an angry look on his face and picked up one of his feet to start stomping again. Both Roux and Wilson ran up to the other foot and started to pet it to soothe the giant. As he pet the Mountain King's leg, Wilson noticed that like Roux's bark, the stone isn't as hard as it's natural counter part and like Roux's leaves, they don't complete cover his body as he noticed the fleshy foot below the stone legs. While being awed by the anatomy of this king, Lionel finally spoke, "My dear little forest angel I can feel a creature dying, it has been attacked i can't tell if it is the damned humans or the devilish imps but the creature is about to die so i am trying to scare any predators away from it". Lionel tried to get up but fell back into his throne, "I can't get up to help it, please dear forest angel and little human, can you please go help the creature and bring it back so i know it is safe"? The Mountain King pleaded with the two little creatures. Wilson felt weird, the Mountain King's booming voice sounded like him pleading with his mother for a new toy. "Roux lets do it he sounds so sad I want him to feel better and I want to help the creature." Wilson said as he tugged on her arm, but Roux had a serious look on her face as she looked like she was deep in thought. " Mountain King, are you sure its safe? what if something were to happen to us?" she asked looking stern, "I don't want to get my new friend hurt because we got attacked". The Mountain King looked upset sighed and looked sadly at the ground, after a deep breath he looked back up, "I'm sorry for asking you little ones to risk your safety for another i just want to keep all the creatures of then mountain safe but i have been restricted to this chair for so long that all I can do is just make little earthquakes to try scare away any evil predators but some times it's not effective so please for give me for pushing off my response abilities of to you because of my old age". After hearing the plight of the Mountain King, Wilson looked so sad he grabbed Roux's hand even tighter. "Lets help him please he is so sad, why don't we help him, all he wants is happiness for the mountain critters." Wilson cried out as tears started to run down his face. Roux at the helpless kids face and just felt so weak to his innocent and cute look even when he was crying. She bent down and started to wipe away the tears for him. " We are going to help him but weren't going alone to the creature we are going to bring the Mountain King with us." she said as she finished cleaning up Wilson and started moving towards the throne, " how does that sound Lionel"?
