Please Don't Leave Me
The two bought groceries after their shopping spree. They decided on having dinner at home as they no longer want to stay outside and just wanted to go straight home and have a rest.
When they reached their house in Regal Palace, Zhang Yixing opened the door for Zhou Yuexi and asked her go head inside first. Then, he took all the paper bags of groceries from the car's boot and went inside as well.
Zhou Yuexi was already waiting for him in the kitchen and she offered to be cook for the night but Zhang Yixing opposed.
"You already made our breakfast, now let me cook for you.", Zhang Yixing reasoned.
Zhou Yuexi was hesitant at first but eventually gave in.
"What if he's a good cook? I better have a try then if he is then he's in charge of cooking from now on!", Zhou Yuexi thought to her self. "That's right! Haha I'll then have a personal chef all for myself!"
Zhang Yixing started preparing the ingredients he will use for his menu and Zhou Yuexi opted to watch him cook so she sat at one of the stools in the counter and observed her husband.
Looking at Zhang Yixing, Zhou Yuexi felt as if she was watching a cooking show. "Is he even real? How could he be tall, rich, handsome, a gentleman, and a good cook at the top of all that? Is he really a businessman not a chef?", she thought.
After an hour or so, Zhou Yuexi could already feel her stomach grumble in hunger and the enticing smell of the freshly cooked dishes didn't help.
"Come on, let's eat. This king cannot stand seeing his queen getting hungry and drooling for food.", Zhang Yixing kidded as he plated the dinner he cooked.
The two of them headed to the dining room and as soon as they got there, Zhang Yixing immediately placed the plates he was carrying on the table and pulled out a chair for Zhou Yuexi. Then, he came back to
the kitchen to get the other dishes he prepared.
Zhang Yixing cooked Italian dinner for the both of them. He served Antipasto Salad, Chicken Carbonara, Osso Buco, Caprese Steak, and Baked Eggplant Parm.
When Zhou Yuexi's eyes landed on the plate of Chicken Carbonara, it was as if she saw the love of her life. "Yey! Carbonara!", she said, her eyes forming two heart shapes.
"I like Carbonara and I guessed you would most probably like it too since we have the same preference in food. Turns out my guess is right.", Zhang Yixing commented. "Dig in."
Without further ado, Zhou Yuexi took a serving of carbonara and started eating. When she tasted it, she was ecstatic as it turned out better than how she expected it to taste like.
"It's final. From now on, he's in charge of our meals. I love his cooking!", Zhou Yuexi declared in her mind.
She finished the carbonara in her plate and decided to get another one but before she even did so, Zhang Yixing placed more carbonara in her plate plus the caprese steak already cut into bite size pieces.
Zhou Yuexi looked at her husband in gratitude and continued eating.
Zhang Yixing on the other hand was happy with how satisfied Zhou Yuexi was with his cooking. He usually eats in restaurants or ask for take outs from Azure Hotel's kitchen as he was too tired and lazy to cook for himself so tonight was one of the few times that he cooked. To be able to please his wife despite the lack of experience in the kitchen boosted his self confidence.
Zhou Yuexi looked at Zhang Yixing with her mouth full of food and raised her thumbs at him. When she swallowed her food, she said, "This is so good. I can eat your cooking all the time, like everyday!".
Zhang Yixing smiled at Zhou Yuexi's compliment. "I told you, I would do anything that pleases you so it is my utmost privilege to be your husband and chef.", Zhang Yixing accepted not noticing that he just sold himself to be Zhou Yuexi's slave. Not that he cares, though.
The couple talked about random things during dinner and then washed the dishes together afterwards.
After they finished, the two headed to their room.
"Do you want to take a shower first?", Zhang Yixing offered his wife as he placed her handbag which he carried for her on the sofa.
Zhou Yuexi went straight in front of her vanity mirror and removed her accessories. "Nah, you use the bathroom first, I still need to remove my make up. I'll have a shower after you're finished.", she answered.
"Okay, you're the boss!", Zhang Yixing said then he went to take a shower.
Just after Zhou Yuexi stood up from her chair to prepare her clothes, the bathroom spitted out a steaming Zhang Yixing with only a towel draped across his hips and nothing else. His six pack abs immediately waved at Zhou Yuexi.
"Damn! Could he be more perfect?! No wonder he felt so hard when I hugged him earlier, it was because of those freaking abs!", Zhou Yuexi commented to herself.
Zhang Yixing's visual was so breathtaking that Zhou Yuexi forgot to breathe and was almost drooling. He was so stunning and the steam seeping from the open bathroom door was not helping either, it made him look even hotter.
The admiring expression pasted all over Zhou Yuexi's face didn't escape Zhang Yixing's eyes. And as though doing it on purpose, he stayed longer by the door and even rubbed the towel on his hand against his dripping hair to dry it.
His actions only made Zhou Yuexi adore him more and he was obviously enjoying the attention his wife was giving him.
"Wipe your saliva.", Zhang Yixing said as he pointed Zhou Yuexi's lips, teasing her. "You're drooling."
Zhou Yuexi snapped out of her daze and realized the situation she was now in. "No I'm not!", she immediately denied in embarrassment.
Her whole face blushed, reason for her to bow her head. When she did, she obscurely wiped her lips to see if she really did salivate on her husband's body.
Zhang Yixing who was watching her every move of course saw what she did and broke out in laughter.
"Oh, darling you never fail to make me happy. I was just kidding.", he said in between his chuckles.
"I already heated the water, you can take a shower now."
Not wanting to face further humiliation, Zhou Yuexi rushed to the bathroom wanting to drown herself in the bathtub.
Zhang Yixing changed in to his pajamas and dried his hair. By the time Zhou Yuexi went out of the bathroom, he was already in bed, sitting against the headboard reading a book.
When he heard the bathroom door creak open, his attention separated from his book to Zhou Yuexi who was just wearing a towel around her body.
It was now his turn to drool over his wife. The towel was rather short and it accentuated Zhou Yuexi's curves as it hugged her body. His body couldn't help but react so he had no choice but to look away to control his self though he wanted to stare at the heavenly sight in front of him.
"Arg! I should have insisted that she showers first. I need a cold shower now but I can't possibly have another one when I just finished taking one.", Zhang Yixing thought to his self regretting his decision.
Unlike Zhang Yixing earlier, Zhou Yuexi was oblivious of Zhang Yixing's reaction and went straight to the walk in cabinet. She stepped in to a fresh set of pajamas, the same ones as what Zhang Yixing was wearing. All their clothes comes in pair, as requested by Zhang Yixing.
When she came out from the dresser, Zhang Yixing already silenced the beast inside him and was back to his normal state.
Zhou Yuexi lied at her side of their king sized bed. Zhang Yixing looked over her side and noticed that she was lying too far away from him.
"Why are you at the edge? What if you fall? Come lie near the center.", Zhang Yixing commanded.
Zhou Yuexi hesitated for a minute or so but still complied. She scooted a few inches nearer but still, there was a huge space separating the two of them.
"Why are you so reluctant? It's not like I'm going to eat you or something.", Zhang Yixing asked.
Zhou Yuexi pouted because she thought she was being reprimanded as his tone was rather unusual. "I'm just not used to having someone sleep beside me."
Zhang Yixing contemplated whether to sleep elsewhere in order to make his comfortable or to insist they sleep beside each other. But he thought, "If I let her continue sleeping on her own, she will never get used to sleeping beside me. Where will I always sleep then? In the sofa? No way on earth I'm doing that!"
"That's why you need to lie closer to me. So that you can get used to having me around.", he reasoned then he patted the space next to him. "Come here. I want to familiarize myself with having you around as well."
Zhou Yuexi thought about it and realized, "I'm not the only one trying to adjust, he too didn't have someone to sleep with before so he is adjusting as well. How narrow of me.", or so she thought.
Zhang Yixing was light sleeper and having a bolster around to hug was a way to make him sleep tighter. So having someone instead of a bolster is most likely the same thing so there was no adjusting or whatnot.
Nonetheless, Zhou Yuexi complied and moved over to the space Zhang Yixing tapped. She sat just like the way Zhang Yixing did, her back against the headboard.
"What were you reading earlier?", Zhou Yuexi inquired wanting to change the topic.
Zhang Yixing remembered his book and took it from the his night stand. "Oh, this?", he showed the book to Zhou Yuexi. "It's about ways of how to be a good husband."
Zhou Yuexi stared at the book and then at Zhang Yixing. "But you're already so good to me. What more do you need to learn?", she asked.
Zhang Yixing smiled at Zhou Yuexi's praise for him. "I'm glad that you are pleased with my service."
"Why do you do that? Why are you so nice to me? I'm quite hard to get along with. I have a very short patience, I'm extremely picky, hard to convince, and I could be pretty bitchy at times, why do you waste your time on such a difficult person.", Zhou Yuexi asked.
Her words earned a frown from Zhang Yixing. "Why does she think so low of her self when she's the best woman I ever met in my entire life?", he thought.
"Because I want to. Because the moment I signed our marriage certificate, I willingly signed my self up for this. And you are not just a random difficult person, I'm willing to slave for you because you are my wife because you are Zhou Yuexi, the most amazing woman I know.", he answered as he snaked his arms around Zhou Yuexi's waist pulling her to his embrace.
"So don't you ever ever think you are unworthy of my treatment. As I said, you are my queen, and I'm more than willing to give everything for my queen.", he added then he placed a kiss on her head. Then, he rested his head on hers, inhaling the fragrant scent of her newly washed hair. Her scent is like a drug to him, making him want to take in more as he took in her smell.
Zhou Yuexi was overly touched with Zhang Yixing's explanation. No one has ever made her feel that way before. Ever since her parents died, nobody ever reassured her that she is important, except her grandfather. During her childhood, she was often bullied for being a quiet nerdy student. She used a different name at school and wore disguise to keep her identity as an only heiress to a big company hidden. As a result she was often bullied and was continuously called berating names as she grew up, making her question her self worth all the time.
Hearing such reassurance from Zhang Yixing was a huge help to her mental health as she was always near depressed for her lack of self confidence. His words soothed the worries in Zhou Yuexi's mind that nobody will ever appreciate her and made her feel secure in his arms.
Zhou Yuexi now felt that she was not alone in this cold and lonely world, she always have Zhang Yixing, her husband.
She looked at him with slightly teary eyes. "Thank you. For appreciating me. For assuring me that I'm not alone.", she said then hugged Zhang Yixing back, enjoying the warmth that they shared.
"My pleasure.", he smiled at her.
"Please don't leave me.", she said straight to his eyes and waited for him to answer.
Zhang Yixing hugged her tighter and lightly kissed her forehead. "Never darling, never."
"Let's sleep, we need to wake up early to visit grandfather tomorrow.", he added then the two of them lied on the bed with each other in their arms and they soon drifted to sleep.
