Chapter 40: Taboo
After completing their shoot the guys all boarded their van as they all had another meeting at the company about their upcoming show in Shanghai.
Timo sat in the back and tiredly closed his eyes to get some sleep. Mui and Vic accompanied him whereas Kai and Ray sat in the middle and let their manager drive them to the said location.
Getting the chance at last Kai and the others didn't hold back in questioning Ray about his endeavours of last night.
Kai: where were you last night?
Mui: (suspicious) he was with a woman!
Vic: (comprehending) Oh! that's why he smelled like a woman!
Timo: (mumbling) keep it low, people are trying to sleep here!
Mui: bro! Is your sleep more interesting than Ray finally being with a woman?
Timo: (yawning) I know the details so you guys don't make a huge fuss about it.
Vic: (surprissed) how do you know?
Ray: (rolling his eyes) I told him.
Kai: (mock hurt) Ray! I thought I was your best friend, how can you do this to me?
Ray: (swatting him on the head) You aren't my lover so shut up.
Mui: so were you really with some woman last night?
Ray: yes, I stayed at Ye-Jin's place last night.
Vic: (thinking) Ye-Jin? Oh! Aera's friend?
At the mention of Aera's name the whole atmosphere turned quite solemn and vic quickly slapped his mouth shut.
Ray: (embarrassed) it's alright. Don't turn her name into some kind of taboo guys.
Kai: (relieved) Ok then tell us what happened?
Thus ray spilled the beans on his adventures of the previous night. And surprisingly enough the guys all listened to his tale attentively. They didn't even pay this amount of attention to their boss either.
Mui: So you don't know what happened to her?
Vic: he already told us that bro.
Kai: (ignoring the bickering duo) You're going to her place later?
Ray: (nodding) yes I plan to do that.
Kai: then before that I need your help with something.
Ray: (raising a brow) my help with?
Kai: (with a straight face) I need to buy a ring for my fi-mother.
Ray didn't notice Kai's little fumble with words.
Ray: sure, that way I'll get something for Ye-Jin too.
Timo: (hoarsely) you're thinking of buying her something?
Ray: (nodding) yes, she's done so much for me all these days. I have to do something for her too right?
Timo: (smirking) things are surely getting interesting around here these days.
Ray: (confused) huh?
Kai: (with an evil glint) I know what you mean big brother!
Ray didn't understand what they were speaking about so instead of asking them multiple times and falling for their prank he simply shrugged off the whole thing with an indifferent attitude.
Chapter 41: Scene
As promised before Ray parked his car in front of Ye-Jin's house at seven in the evening. Even though he had come back with the others his car which he had been driving from the last night was brought back by one of their assistants.
After parking the vehicle he didn't immediately get down from it but instead he first took out his phone and sent a text to Ye-Jin
'Ray: are you home?'
He didn't get a reply immediately as he usually did. After some amount of time had passed and he was about to lose his patience did she text him back.
'Ye-Jin: Yes I am napping.'
He heaved a sigh of relief because Ye-Jin was alright. He didn't waste any time and within seconds he was knocking on her door. When the door opened his jaw uncontrollably dropped to the floor in shock.
Ye-Jin was a scene to the eyes. Not in a pleasant way though. She looked as if she had recently jumped out from the history books looking like a pre-historic human being. Her hairs were frizzy and all over the place- some even were even pointing upwards like a mobile tower. Her eyes were swollen and they were barely open. She was practically half asleep and thus her mouth was somewhat open and if looked at carefully then there was a trail of drool at the side of her mouth. Let's not talk about her clothes- who am I kidding? Her clothes were wrinkled and her pant was folded on one leg and the other leg was fully covered.
Ray: (amazed) did- did you sleep whole day?
Y-Jin: (drowsily nodding) mhmm-
She didn't wait for him to ask anything else and turned back and walked inside. He too followed suit after a beat and in the living room, he saw her sprawled on the couch trying to sleep again.
Seeing her being like this Ray was getting angry. She wouldn't have been in this state first of all if she hadn't drunk barrels together of alcohol last night.
Ray: (glowering at her) get up!
Ye-Jin: (peeking at him) I don't feel like it.
Ray didn't waste another second and he just bent down to carry her in his arms. Ye-Jin was startled by his rough actions and she was so shocked that she couldn't gather her senses until he threw her unceremoniously into her bathtub filled with hot water.
Ye-Jin shrieked at the sudden free fall but she wasn't thrown from such height which would have wounded her.
Ye-Jin: (glaring at him) ugh!
Raay: (smirking) this serves you better and you'll not escape this easily if you pull yesterdays stunt ever again. Wash up, I'll be outside.
Saying so he didn't loiter around and just went back to the living room.
