Chapter 37: Unease
While Ye-Jin was having a falling out with her best friend Aera, Ray was in another part of the city with his members preparing to attend a meeting about a commercial they were all going to shoot.
The commercial this time was about a new sedan which was going to be released to the market the next month. The company was prosperous and so wanted the most popular faces of the country to be their brand ambassadors. The initial phases of the contracts were to be discussed in the meeting they were going to attend in fifteen minutes
They were about to enter the room when his phone rang and he politely excused himself from the rest of the group to take the call.
Truth be told he was actually really surprised when he saw the caller ID.
Ye-Jin knew that he was going to be busy the whole day and knowing her so far he could safely say that she wasn't the type to impose herself on others mindlessly. Moreover, she simply tended to leave text messages for him to read later. So he could easily assume that there was some kind of emergency for her to take the initiative to call him personally.
Ray: Ye-Jin what's up?

Ray: (frowning) Ye-Jin? Hello?
...
Ray looked back at the screen confused when he didn't get any reply from the caller. He saw that the call was connected. He tried once again
Ray: Hello?
This time he was fortunate enough to hear a sharp intake of breath.
Ray: (frowning) Sweetie are you ok?
Ye-Jin: hm.. sorry Ray, I called you by mistake.
He frowned at her response. Her voice sounded hoarse like she had caught a cold.
Ray: sweetie what's the matter?
Ye-Jin: (sniffing) n-nothing, I was trying to call big sis b-but I accidentally dialed your number.
Ray: (relaxing) it's alright sweetie, I'll drop by later and bring your favorite for you. I'll have to go now ok?
Ye-Jin: y-yeah sure.
He ended the call with a light heart because he thought that all was well with his friend but he didn't know that Ye-Jin was feeling horrible due to the fact that she and Aera had a falling out of sorts.
It was when he reached her house later that night did he find that it was locked and she wasn't responding to any calls or texts.
He felt the earlier unease creep up his spine when he couldn't find her. He didn't waste another moment in tracking her location through GPS.

Chapter 38: Passed out
The GPS tracking brought Ray to a familiar location. He vaguely remembered the area where he had been beaten up when he first arrived in this city. This neighborhood reminded him of the same alley he was caught unguarded back then.
Looking at the dark and smelly alley Ray's heart fell to the pits of his stomach. His mind into a kind of frenzy with worry for Ye-Jin's safety.
With reluctant steps, he followed the tracker and after fifteen more minutes of walking, he came to stop in front of a street-side restaurant. The atmosphere there was much warmer and brighter compared to the dark alleys he had just come through. Moreover, to his surprise, in front of him the main street bustling with human life.
Taking a deep breath he cursed the damned GPS which brought him through that deserted dark alley claiming it to be the 'fastest route.'
He soon spotted Ye-Jin passed out on one of the tables and there were numerous bottles of alcohol strewn on the table in front of her.
Ray knitted his eyebrows clearly displeased by her reckless behavior. With resolute steps in no time, he reached beside her and tapped her shoulder to wake her up.
Ray: Ye-Jin, wake up.
Sadly he got no response from her drunk and passed out self.
Ray: (shaking her) Jin! Get up! Let's go home now.
She didn't wake up but murmured something incoherent before going back to sleep.
Sighing in defeat Ray bent down and with some difficulty picked her up in his arms.
The feat would have looked inelegant if not for Ray being a handsome guy even after covering ninety percent of his face. His silhouette was enough to let many girls have sleepless nights with wild thoughts running in their minds. He was charming even without trying. Luckily there weren't many people lurking around them to witness the scene.
Ye-Jin: I(breathing on his neck) A-Aera I'm sorry.
ray was startled for a moment and her breath left a trail of goosebumps all over his body. In his surprised state, he failed to hear what she was mumbling.
Ray: (holding her closer) you really need to work on your weight sweetie.
If Ye-Jin was awake and had heard him then there was a pretty high chance that she would have smacked for him for commenting about her weight.
After a bit of eventful night, Ray managed to get the drunk girl home. Then he stocked the food he had previously brought with him in her fridge.
Feeling extremely worn out and having an early schedule the next morning he decided to crash on her couch for the night.
