Chapter 25: Not the right time
Ye-Jin: but he seemed sweet-
Ye-Jin's words were pitifully drowned in the torrential floods of Aera's vanity.
Aera: (brushing off the comment) you had to see his face when I rejected him Ye-Jin. It was so sad like he would cry, (chuckling) I almost laughed in his face when he asked me out. It was so funny, I mean, I knew he was interested in me but I didn't think he would ask me out.
Ye-Jin: (frowning her brows) how is that surprising? When a person likes you it is normal for him to ask you out, right?
Aera: (looking at her funnily) Come on Jin! This is Ray we are talking about here! Don't tell me after being his fan for so long you don't know anything.
Ye-Jin: (confused) what do I don't know?
Aera: (rolling her eyes) don't you know that Ray has never been seen with any girl ever?
Ye-Jin: yes that's true-
Aera: (cutting in) Even the paparazzi have failed to catch him with any girl. He even admitted it himself that he has never had any experience with girls ever.
Ye-Jin: (trying to remember) it seems so-
Aera: (exasperated) don't you still get it?!
Ye-Jin: get what?
Aera: (giving up) you're really hopeless! He is gay Jin! Don't you see it?
Ye-Jin: What?!
Aera: (sighing) I too wish he wasn't Jin but sadly he is. Everyone in the company knows that too. He is rumoured to be in a secret relationship with Kai and they put up the front of having an unbreakable bond of friendship between them.
Ye-Jin: (horrified) That is ridiculous Aera! How can you believe something so outrageous!
Aera: (saddened) that's true, otherwise, why would I reject such good male specimen?
Ye-Jin: you sure that you aren't misinformed?
Aera: (scoffing) you wish! I got the information from a very reliable source. Moreover, when have you seen any guy live like a saint these days? (fake sobbing) And he is a living breathing male god! You don't know how much my heart bled when I rejected him.
Ye-Jin only nodded silently feeling angry- not at how lightly Aera took others feelings but because of her extremely low IQ. She never denied that Aera could be cruel to people when her big-head got in the way but now she learnt something new about her. Even the freezing point of water wouldn't be able to rival this kind of IQ.
Aera was beautiful, there was no doubt in it but that same beauty got into her head most of the times which was extremely bad in times like his. Ye-Jin could never understand how men bee-lined for beauty-queens like Aera pretty easily.
Ye-Jin pretended to listen to Aera's further monologue but her brain took her back to the night when she had found her another friend out in the cold upset upon a rejection- probably his first one. She had seen him vulnerable and drunk with hairs messed up and a crazy glint in his eyes. She knew that he was famous for that crazy glint in his eyes which made him look dangerous.
That night Ye-Jin had found him to be dangerously attractive. Her heart had actually skipped a beat when he had stared at her face intently and held her hand, not ready to let her leave. She didn't know and nor she wanted to know how he would react on listening to this ridiculous reason for his very first rejection.
She sighed in longing as she knew the fan-girl inside would never have enough of it.
Aera was still going on about something about an upcoming tour to Japan with some band for concerts when Ye-Jin heard another knock on her door. She asked Aera to wait for her and went in to answer her door.
To her immense surprise, it was Ray standing on her front-porch showing her his famous gummy-smile.
Ye-Jin came out of her surprise pretty soon when it clicked in her head that Aera was currently waiting for her in her backyard and would come looking for her. Quickly Ye-Jin stepped outside and closed the door behind her back.
Ray: (surprised) is this, not the right time?

Sanchi94 uh-oh! Ye-Jin got stuck in an awkward situation now.
I am posting this additional chapter as today is a pretty auspicious day for me and I'm usually very happy on this day every year.
It's the celebration of the beautiful relationship between brothers and sisters and I've got a long list of younger and older brothers (sigh!)
I actually forgot what I wanted to say! (Am hopeless sometimes ?)
And also the epilogue to the other story will be up soon. I finally found a cliche idea for it!
Chapter 26: A favor
Quickly Ye-Jin stepped outside and closed the door behind her back.
Ray: (surprised) is this not the right time?
Ye-Jin: (nodding) to prevent the awkwardness and some heartbreak.
Ray: (confused) I do not understand.
Ye-Jin: (hearing the approaching footsteps) I need a favor.
Ray: what?
Ye-Jin: (panicking) leave now please. I will meet you later.
Ray: (confused again) huh?
Ye-Jin: (dragging him to his car) why don't people ever listen to me?
Ray: (confused at her mumbling) ok fine Ye-Jin but w-where will you meet me?
Ye-Jin: text me after an hour. I will come to wherever you are. Right now please leave.
Ray: (getting into his car a little annoyed) ok fine!
Huffing at her odd behavior he drove away at the exact moment when Ye-Jin's front door opened and Aera walked out looking for her.
Aera: what is taking you so long Ye-Jin?
Ye-Jin: um… I w-was j-just giving s-some d-directions.
Aera: (nodding) ok. Ye-Jin I actually wanted to spend some time with you but I have an appointment soon with my dermatologist.
Ye-Jin: ok then-
Aera: how about we go for a few drinks later? To our usual place.
Ye-Jin: (shrugging) I will have to see Aera. I have work tomorrow.
Aera: never mind. Call me whenever you are free before Wednesday ok?
Ye-Jin: (giving her a two finger salute) yes ma'am. We will have a night out before you fly away for your tour.
As decided beforehand Ray texted Ye-Jin after an hour. She had spent the time getting ready to go out. She smiled unknowingly when she received his text. He had waited for the time being in the park near Ye-Jin's home.
She walked the distance after locking her house behind herself. She saw him sitting on one of the benches and clicking the pictures of the kids who were playing in the sand nearby. She boldly sat beside him which gained his attention successfully.
Ray: what was that just now?
Ye-Jin: (smiling) I panicked.
Ray: because?
Ye-Jin: (evading the question) were you waiting here all this time?
Ray: (smirking) that's not the answer to my question sweetie.
Ye-Jin was a little surprised at the little nickname which Ray used but she chose to ignore it and instead told him the truth.
Ye-Jin: Aera was with me.
Ray: (face losing all expression) oh!
Ye-Jin: are you ok?
Ray: (faking a smile) y-yes.
Ye-Jin: (scoffing) liar.
Ray: (swallowing) so you didn't want her to see me or what?
Ye-Jin: I wanted to keep all the negativity away from my home.
Ray: huh?
Ye-Jin: you would have gotten sad, some more upset when Aera would scoff at you and also she would have probably assumed that you were stalking her. (Alarmed) were you?
Ray: (chuckling) you are cute Ye-Jin. I came to return your jacket.
Ye-Jin: ok then where is it?
Ray: In my car. Ah! It feels good to be here. The neighborhood is so quiet and there is no reason for me to hide. I really like this.
Ye-Jin: (smiling softly) you look really nice today.
Ray: ah! really?! Thank you.
Ye-Jin: (in a serious tone) Ray why did you want to date Aera?
Ray: (surprised) huh?
Ye-Jin: (hiding her red face) no I am just asking, guess I am curious. (meekly) you don't have to answer me.
She was flustered after asking the question. She clearly saw him upset over the rejection yet she went ahead to shoot off her mouth.
Ray in the beginning was a little taken back by her direct approach but he too had been looking for someone to share his story with for sometime now so he welcomed her question and began to tell her about how his feelings for her friend actually developed.
Ray: (hesitantly) well I met her on the first day when I came to this city-
