Before the maids could bring out the food for the gathering, Lei Daiyu requested for everyone's attention. She thanked them for their presence and said, "This small gathering is all about Xuilan's return after four years of being away from us. Let us not talk anymore about the past."

She paused and glanced at her two great-grandchildren before adding, "As you can see, I have two new babies and they are adorable. All things end well. What is important now is that Xuilan is back."

"Grandma! May I add, please?" It was Mei Ling raising her hand and getting up.
