Equipping Oneself (2)

The next morning Leon walked with the pouch full of gold in one hand. He had the bottle in his pocket.

"I need to finish most of my today so I can leave tomorrow."

Originally he had planned to go out today, but because of the bottle he changed his plan.

In the town Leon headed

...

In his past life because of his high talent in the Fire element. Leon was able to easily learn blacksmithing, and even became a Master Blacksmith. But he mainly used it to repair his own weapons, and sometimes forge in time of need. He never focused on blacksmithing but it was good for making money and such.

Leon he would soon need an excuse for leaving the house constantly. So he planned on using blacksmithing as this excuse.

Leon reached a building. It kept with the theme of the town, with a red exterior, and heat flowering out of the building, it blended in nicely with the town.

The building had a huge sign hanged at the front, written in absolute elegance on it was <Everlasting Smithy>. The Calligraphy had dominance and showed that it was done by master of the art. This building was one of the most important feature of the town- second only to the fire tower.

The inside had a few people talking with each other. Leon went up to the counter. A lady sat there looking down, she seemed to be filling in some type of papers.

"I want to practice some blacksmithing. I know that with the Flamesmith family token I could use the smithy for 3 days without paying", said Leon as he put his token on the counter. This was something all members knew but souls barely use this privilege.

The true origin of the Flamesmith clan was in blacksmithing but it's inheritance was lost and its history was lost. Now only a few people still practiced blacksmithing.

The lady looked at the token, she then without even looking at Leon took out a key and placed it on the table and went back to the papers as she said "Yes, here is the key to room number 14, you can stay there for three days."

"Does the smithy also metals and beast blood? If you they do could you tell me where." Leon asked. This was his first time visiting this smithy. He had barely spent time in this town, as he had to stay in the tower.

The lady stopped what she was doing and looked at Leon, "Through that door, then take the first right, you'll find a shop."

"Thanks." Leon then made his way to the shop.

Metals and beast blood were the most basic materials for blacksmithing.

At the shop Leon used 10 gold to buy a kilogram of <Black Refined Steel> and a tube of lowest grade shadow beast blood.

Leon entered room fourteen and locked the door. The room was small with just a forge, table and hammer.

He then went up to the forge and sparked it on fire. "The fire is lower quality then I thought."

Leon sat in front of the forge in a meditation position. He closed his eyes. And inched his hand towards the flame. When he was barely touching it a spark landed on his hand igniting it. The flame danced up his arm engulfing it.

But if you looked closely you would see a thin layer of red stopping it from touching his skin.

"With my slaughter qi and control from my past life I should be able to forge."

blacksmithing was a complicated process. People would have specialised beasts contracted to help them. Then you would need high talent in the Fire element as well.

This was just for making the body of weapons, if you wanted to make weapons actually used by Summoners you would need to engrave the weapon with runes. This would give the weapon special abilities and make it worth using.

When this was completed the weapon formed was called a <Runic Weapon>. These weapons were also ranked by the main rune engraved. Such as a weapon with a <Tier 1> rune you would be able to form a <Tier 1 Runic Weapon>.

He then went to the side of the forge and raised the temperature of the flame to the maximum. Feeling the rise Leon muttered

"Just a little hotter, I should be able to handle it."

Leon took out the items he bought from the l shop. He poured metals into the forge and controlled the fire through a crystal like diamond embedded into the forge.

Touching the diamond Leon, laughed at himself in pity. "Someone who was known as the king of fire can't even control a small forge flame. Laughable." Leon lamented.

The flames woke up. It roared and crackled as it formed a weave around the <Black Refined Steel>. It shrunk and concentrated focusing its heat to dissolve the ore. Like a conductor to his orchestra the flame bellowed at every hand movement.

Leon was sweating steam and glowed red. However his exquisite control never faltered. With eyes locked and a face filled with glee he continued to direct.

The fire floated in the form of a spinning sphere with a core of molten metal. Spits of flame popped out as the sphere spun faster. It compressed until it was shiny. The heat coming off was intense. So much so that the tables and walls in the room were melting.

Leon grabbed the hammer and hit it into the ball of flame. A ding resounded. He continued this grueling task with each hit getting faster. The speed was so high that the hammers kindled. Forming dragons from the flame. The fire spread and like a king who had got his crown it attached Leon and dressed him in its attire.

...

While Leon was in his trance at the front of the smithy a man walks in. He had a badge on his chest. Bronze in colour and with a forging hammer engraved on it. The man dressed well and held his head high in pride. His chest puffed out as if to make sure everyone saw the badge.

The lady at the front of the store looks at the man with a stunned expression and says" Good morning, Sir Tor, would you like the usual room,"

The man responded "Yes."

The lady already holding the key escorted the man down the hall to his room. As he walked by a room he felt a strong heat from the room next to him. "The Blacksmith must be using the maximum temperature of fire. He must be very skilled, almost as much as me." He thought.

"Oh, who is in room fourteen?" the man says acting as if he is mildly surprised.

"Sir, it should be a twelve year old child from the Flamesmith clan, his name should be Leon" the lady said with a confused look, she wondered why Mr Tor asked her this.

"A Flamesmith member, you mean those disgraces... wait, did you say twelve year old?"

"Yes Mr Tor, his Clan token did say twelve years old."

"You fool open the door! He must be cooking himself alive in there, can't you feel the strong fire energy coming till here. Even I would have difficulty in controlling such a flame, much less a twelve year old kid." He loudly exclaimed.

The lady was now shocked as well, she quickly took out a master key and unlocked the door.

Leon inside the room still in his trance started to finish of the long sword he was creating. He heard the door start to unlock, which snapped him out of his trance. In a moment of fake anger he swung his sword at the door launching a slash of fire on the wall next to it.

The lady already on the floor behind Mr Tor. "I've never been so close to death " she thought.

As for Mr Tor he quickly spoke without giving Leon a chance to speak. "I'm sorry master Blacksmith, I did not think I would see an esteemed person like you in this place, please accept my apology."

Leon looking a little less angry and started appraising the sword he created. "Even pigs wouldn't enter a room while someone forges, to think that an apprentice blacksmith like you can't even do something so simple. Death can't cure such idiocy. So tell me, how do I know you are truly sorry? Any second earliar I would have lost control of the flame and died myself." Leon finally said his true motive "if words could solve all problems we wouldn't have wars." He said as his eyes turn evil.

Mr Tor knowing what's coming, with clenched teeth said "Sir, is there anything I can do to show my sincerity." Internally he couldn't help but think 'are all kids this guile'.

Leon looked at Mr Tor's badge and like a rich man to a butler he started to list things casually, " Actually I don't have any money on me so could you rent a higher grade forge room, and also have these materials ready for me in two days when I return. I want all of them. I went a little easy and made sure it was things that the smithy has in store." Leon said as he handed him a paper.

"Finally, for today I want a steak of Flame beast meat, medium rare, also get me some of the Fire Drinks special, Fire breath they recently added to the menu. Don't forget to pay for the fixing of the wall as well."

Mr Tor with a smile that was an attempt to stop himself from crying said "no problem sir, but may I ask your name and age"

"Leon, twelves years old." said Leon as he starts packing his things up.

Mr Tor's smile turns aurhentic, he stated "Miss Sasha quickly set one of the best rooms for this young master."

Sasha still dazed at what just happened instinctively agreed, "right away Sir!" but stayed standing in place.

Mr Tor closed the door and continued to walk to his own room. Miss Sasha earned up the courage and asked "Mr Tang, are you sure he is a master blacksmith?"

"You didn't see. When we opened the door his entire body was on fire, he should have been in the man and fire as one state that only master blacksmiths can achieve. Even if he isn't a master blacksmith now he should soon become one. Also the sword he created was a high grade human weapon that was made of the trashiest materials I have ever seen. That boy is very skilled."

"But to take such a hearing from a kid if this got out your image would be ruined."

Mr Tor glared at Miss Sasha , "first of all, no one else will know this, right Miss Sasha." She gestures that her lips are zipped.

"In the end I did disturb him. What he said was right even if he did kill me no one would say anything. The blacksmith association would happily accept the reason and would try to have him join them instead, with such talent the association would treat him as a treasure."

Miss Sasha was left shocked reminding herself to be much more respectful next time. She quickly set a room up for Leon to use. As Mr Tor prepared the other things.

...

Now in room seven, one of the five higher grade rooms in the whole smithy. Miss Sasha said with a smile plastered on "Sir, Mr Tor told me tell you, that you can use this room for as long as you want, he would foot the bill. As for the meal it will be delivered to you in a minute, all the other things will be given to you in two days." She waited at the door.

Leon looked at the room. Much bigger than before it had marble tables engraved with gold. The forge had more temperatures to it as well. There were an array of different tools each polished or sharpened. Satisfied Leon dismissed Miss Sasha.

"Here's your food, Thank you. Bye." He left the food on the table and scurried away.

Leon went picked up the food and locked the door.

He touched his stomach. His body felt hungry. He hadn't eaten for a while. He wasn't planning on eating soon either. He wanted to make his body starve and so when he fed it the fire energised food they would have a better impact. The fire energy would also refine his body and awaken his affinity.

Back to blacksmithing.

...

Mr Tor in room number two is sitting with his hand supporting his chin. As he stares at a dagger he just made. Miss Sasha stood behind him with patience. He finally spoke "so have found out more about the boy?"

Miss Wu answers, "No, I just learned through sources that Leon, is a trash of the family who hasn't awakened a soul book even at the age of twelve, it is expected that he will never awaken a soul book because of a soul injury he suffered when young."

"What kind of incompetent sources are you getting information from! I knew I should have just found out about it myself... Well, Miss Sasha the 'sources' of yours are clearly wrong. He clearly has much higher talent than a normal person, let's not even think about trash." He then mumbled, "Is the Flamesmith clan planning on making a come back to the world of blacksmithing..." He turned, "Miss Wu you should continue your information search but do it as secretly as possible."

Mr Tor then said to himself, "I've already sent a letter to master. He should be coming here soon as well."

...

Leon could be seen with two thin throwing knives. They were a dark silver like iron. Starting from the point of the blade it widened downwards then tainted again to the handel which was smooth and had a hole at its end.

"Now to add the runes."

Leon found an engraver, it was a pen like object with a blade at its end.

Leon dipped it into the shadow beast blood he bought and started drawing on the knives. He quickly drew a single rune, <Shadow Blink>.

However the rune didn't activate, the <Shadow Blink> rune was a <Tier 4> rune, So it needed immense amount of shadow energy to work. Leon took out the tube in his pocket.

It was the rune enhancing fluid. He poured the liquid in equal amounts on both knives. The fluid was absorbed and the dark red runes turned completely black.

Leon picked up the two knives and checkered that everything was perfect. After looking at from all the ways he was satisfied.

"With this I have another card up my sleeves." Leon thought as he left the smithy. Close by he found someone to make a holder for the knives. He got a black leather sheath for both of them.

He wore both the sheaths to the right of his was waist.

Leon then went around the town and spent the rest of the 300 gold.
