Chapter 84: Animagus
Rita tried to say something but her words didn't come out, she was left sitting on the table staring at Edwin" I-I could explain" Rita said stumbling as she spoke.
"You were in your animagus form spying on me "Edwin blankly stated.
"No-No…yes" Rita quakes as she stumbled to talk" It's Not Illegal"
Looking at the slightly shaking Rita Edwin smirked" I don't think so but I'm sure you're not a register animagus"
"I am "Rita shouted out immediately.
"I'll take your word for it but you were spying on me… I will have to tell Bartemius crouch Snr" Edwin said as he walked out of the classroom.
"Please don't" Rita called out to Edwin but he was already gone, chasing after Edwin who was walking slowly down the corridor Rita cried out I'll lose my job… Please I'll do anything"
"Anything?" Edwin asked turning back.
"just say what you want" Rita hissed at Edwin who had a smirk on his face.
"I want everything that you write to be under my control" Edwin said with a smile" you will not post anything remotely scandalous or reputation-damaging without my permission"
"I can't do that" Rita cried out with her face bright red "it will be the end of me"
"Whelp take your chances with the ministry what at most you'll get 2-3 years in Azkaban for being an unregister animagus" Edwin quickly replied.
"That's blackmail "Rita hissed
"it won't be if I report you now" Edwin stated putting Rita in a difficult position" How about this I won't turn you in if all reports on the Triwizard tournament is under my full control and in the future, I'll ask you for some favor "
Rita took a while to answer" Fine" She mutters with a slight tremble in her voice" this is the interviews"
Edwin took his time to read through her interview with Fleur, and it was clear that Fleur was going to be the first target of Rita since Harry wasn't in the tournament" Don't publish this and stop referring to her as a veela, she is a person, not a creature "
"Anything else?" Rita asked in a hateful tone.
"I'll like to do my interview now" Edwin replied with a smile.
The interview with Rita didn't take long and Edwin was off to keep up the end of his bargain with Rain, as one thing he didn't want to do is piss off a Kneazle that lives with him. The hunting ground that Edwin was taking Rain to was by the forbidden forest as there was almost no rats in Hogwarts.
As he was heading to the forbidden forest Edwin saw Fleur walking by herself for once" Fleur" Edwin called and she glances back before walking faster "Fleur what wrong?"
"wee cannot be Friends," Fleur said with her strong French accent" Edwin you are an amazon person but zhe Troswizard zournament will make 'zhins 'ard, wee 'ave to face each other"
"Fleur the tournament won't be anything to worry about we'll still be friends" Edwin replied.
"zhat is not zrue… maybe after zhe competition" Fleur said before stopping" zee you around Edwin"
Edwin didn't know what to say and was left standing still, he wanted to get close to Fleur but she doesn't want to face a friend in the completion. With a sigh Edwin went and collect Rain
When Edwin arrived close to Hagrid's hut he saw Madam Maxime talking with Hagrid, his hair was neatly combed and tied up, his bushy beard is neatly combed out and trimmed Hagrid looked as though he was going to a fancy party.
Edwin didn't want to go too close to Hagrid's hut and disturbed them so he stood a distance away from the pumpkin patch" Remember to come back before night and don't go too far there are wolves in the forest" Edwin said looking at Rain.
"Meow" Rain responded before running off.
Edwin didn't have much to do for the rest of the day, he had hoped to see Fleur in the four houses but she wasn't there only her friends after leaving the chamber Edwin went to bed and started to plan on how he would complete the first task but his mind kept going back to his conversation with Fleur, he was then disturbed by the usual knocking in the cabinet.
"Edwin get up there is a thunderstorm," Ivan said knocking hard on the cabinet door.
"Coming, "Edwin said putting on his robes.
"No time for that "Ivan said pulling Edwin in the cabinet half-dressed" did you repeat the incantation daily?"
"Yeah, mornin' and night" Edwin replied.
"Grab hold," Ivan said giving Edwin his arm" try not to vomit"
"What?" Edwin asked but then he started to feel his stomach turning inside out and the world spinning he knew that feeling it is the feeling of a port key being used but in this case it was apparition.
Ivan took Edwin to an open field where rain was pouring and lighting was striking in the distance which is always followed by the sound of thunder "Help me dig a pool" Ivan said as he waved his wand sending the ground a few inches down.
"Why are we doing this?" Edwin asked as he filled the pool with water.
"there is a chance that your animagus is a fish or even a bloody whale," Ivan said as he added the finishing touches to the sections of the pool.
"Don't worry son me and Yasen did it just like this… just remember to stay on the edge" Ivan aid giving Edwin the animagus potion.
Edwin gulped down the awful tasting potion and stayed by the edge of the pool, at first Edwin didn't feel anything but then he faintly saw an image of a cat looking him in the eyes the cat seems familiar but he didn't know how or why.
When the image of the cat disappear Edwin found himself much closer to the ground, he then looked at his hands that became paws "it worked" Edwin wanted to shout but only a "meow "left his mouth.
Edwin couldn't help but run around with his new body jumping around but due to the pouring rain he transformed back to his human form with great effort.
"I can't believe you're also a black cat "Ivan shout hugging Edwin.
"I'm glad I didn't become a bug," Edwin said thinking of Rita.
"Let's get out of the rain" Ivan stated as he fixed the field then apparate back home "this brings back memories"
"What are you talking about," Edwin asked Ivan who was nostalgic.
"Me and your uncle did the same animagus together," Ivan said with a quiet tone" He turned into a bear, a bear"
"We should have gotten Yasbel to do the ritual " Ivan stated.
Edwin turned into a cat and looked into the mirror, he saw an average size cat with short pitch black fluffy fur and emerald green eyes.
