Chapter 13: Cheng Bao
Liu Gang and Li Chen looked at each other.
"So, if we discovered more details about this world, the more we receive the reward." said Li Chen. Liu Gang only nodded in agreement.
"Let's go have dinner in our house, father might be worried about us." said Liu Gang.
Li Chen only looked at Liu Gang in disbelief. This cold friend of him actually said father? And worried? It's been long since he mentioned this words.
" So you finally began to unlock your emotions. Well that's quiet good. I will not be worried about you being single all of your years." said Li Chen while smiling.
"Don't forget that I still hate women, brother. Actually, there is a leech that trying to get me and father into argument by seducing us." said Liu Gang in a serious tone. And explained him in detail how he found out. Liu Gang knew that he could trust Li Chen after all.
"She did what?!!!" shouted Li Chen.
"You don't need to shout! My ears hurts!" said Liu Gang and covered his ears.
"Mhmm, wait, I seem to know this part. Where a maid tried to seduce Liu Gang and his father but ended up in a failure so she tried to poison Liu Gang's father and succeeded. When the other relatives tried to claim the position of being the head of the family, they failed and the position was given to Liu Gang." said Li Chen while analyzing his memories finding out if he missed any detail.
"I knew it! They will try to poison Liu Fu in June 30 which was a month after the gathering in the palace!" said Liu Gang. He wanted to plan something to stop Liu Fu being poisoned but a voice sounded in his mind.

"Damn it!" cursed Liu Gang. He doesn't want his father, who gave him the warmth of love, to be killed. However, he couldn't do anything.
As Li Chen also heard the warning his system gave, he comforted Liu Gang. He knew what his friend feel. However, he also couldn't do anything. Liu Gang was about to lose hope when a voice ring in his mind.
'Liu Gang, because I know what you experience in your past life, I will make Liu Fu stay for a year before being poisoned. I will also gift you 50,000 of exp.' said the creator.
'Thank you creator, I will not waste my time and will cherish him before dying.' answered Liu Gang.
'Good, that's the spirit! I will support you with your friend.' said the creator leaving Liu Gang.
Liu Gang smiled that make Li Chen dumbfounded. Is this friend of him had gone crazy after finding out that his father will die? His mind was conflicted until Liu Gang speak answering his question.
"The creator gave me a year to spend with Liu Fu." said Liu Gang and smiled again.
Li Chen looked at the smiling Liu Gang and smiled too. Soon, after a few minutes, they reached the mansion. It was dark outside but the light could be seen inside the mansion.
Liu Gang go to the dining room with Li Chen and their stomach growled after smelling the sweet aroma of the food.
They both rushed in the room. They found Liu Fu sitting while eating with the large amount of food in the table.
Liu Fu looked at the blond kid and the black haired man beside the kid. He smiled and invited them.
"Come and sit. Li Chen you should also come and eat. You deserved it. You guarded my son well. You can also spend the night here, it is already dark outside." said Liu Fu and smiled.
"Please pardon me, I will eat now." said Li Chen and also smiled. Liu Gang and Li Chen rushed to the chair and started eating like two hungry wolves.
A few moments later,
"This is mine!"
"No it is mine!"
Liu Fu chuckled as he saw the childish behaviour of the two 'kid'. He thought that even Li Chen could show Liu Gang his behaviour, then that means Li Chen trusted Liu Gang. He left them and go to his study once again.
"Brother, you are older than me! Give it to me!"
"Excuse me, I am older than you in one only one day!"
Soon, they finally gave up fighting and shared the meal. To their surprise, they found that Liu Fu left. They go to Liu Gang's training room and started to do their own things.
'System, open mission.' said Liu Gang in his mind. A familiar hologram appeared before him.

'Yeah, I forgot. I needed to consume 5 beast cores to reach Level 3 of my skill. I wonder why I need beast cores?' thought Liu Gang. He picked the seven beast cores from his storage ring and consumed them by sucking it.
After consuming the first beast core, he felt energy that started to circulate around his blood. After a few seconds, the energy he felt began to settle down.
He picked another and sucked it. After sucking the second beast core, a familiar voice sounded in his mind.
[Congratulations for completing the mission! Rewarded 750 Exp. Leveling up...]
Liu Gang felt again his muscles cracking. He endured the pain for a few minutes and finally refreshing up. He already know that the more you level up per stage, the pain will decrease but after you level up into another process, the pain will increase than what you felt in the past cultivation process.
He looked at his body but found out that his clothes was not torn apart. He was relieved and continue to suck until he sucked the fifth beast core and a voice rang again in his mind.
[Hidden quest completed! Rewarded 1,000 Exp. Leveling up...]
Again, Liu Gang felt the pain. The pain increased more than what he felt when he became at 7th stage. He gritted his teeth and finally, roaring.
"Ahhh" shouted Liu Gang interrupting Li Chen's workout session.
*Pant*
*Pant*
"Are you okay, bro?" said Li Chen concerned. He saw Liu Gang's body was covered with dirt. Luckily, the training room was designed sound proof.
"I just level up into White Level." said Liu Gang while panting.
"Let's go to sleep, you probably have been exhausted." said Li Chen and help Liu Gang stand up.
"You're room is in near my room." said Liu Gang and started walking to his room. He took quick shower before sleeping. Because he was exhausted, he doze off after jumping in his bed.
Li Chen checked fist Liu Gang before going to his room. He found out that Liu Gang didn't put his blanket. He sighed and covered Liu Gang with a thick blanket.
"Good night, brother. Have a good night rest." said Li Chen while turning off the lamp and closing the door.
Liu Fu, who is hiding, smiled. From what he could see from Li Chen's eyes, he was worried. Liu Fu smiled that his son finally found a good friend.
He was checking on Liu Gang when he heard the door open so he quickly hide and see if who is the intruder. When he saw Li Chen, he was about to attack him when he saw the concerned expression.
He stopped and found out that Li Chen might be worried so he stopped and watched him.
He walked out in the room and once again looked at Liu Gang before closing the door. He looked at the whole moon and mumble something.
"Cheng Bao, did you see your son? He is already grown up. I think he found a good friend. I know that even he didn't show it in his face, he missed you. I miss you too. I hope you are in a good condition up there."
