Chapter 13: In the shade

I'd sat down with a small group of people that I knew but didn't really spend much time with. They started asking questions about the puppy, and giving compliments. They asked about it's name, why I needed the pup, what happened over the summer, and some other things. I simply lied like I usually do about things that are suspicious. And told them I had PTSD and didn't want to talk about it because it would cause an episode. I'm deeply sorry for the lie I told, but it was the most believable thing that came to my mind at the moment. They simply passed it off and continued resting.
