Stepping through the door, I shut the door with a slam, before breathing heavily and slumping down to the wooden floor below.
Coughing as I catch my breath, I still cant help but shiver from that pressure. Only those sensitive enough would be able to notice the huge pressure, only those who aren't talented could ignore it.
"I didn't show any reaction so I should be in the clear, I should stay away from that shop for the time being"
"But" I begin grinning to myself, I bring forth the dark arts that I just obtained.
"Peak high grade mortal arts?" smiling gleefully, I calm myself.
"From my memories, I know the highest grade martial arts are the -Blue Feather Domination Arts and the Light-Paladin Arts which are used by the paladin council and the royal family"
"Both of them are peak mortal martial arts"
"It seems the Dark forces are behind in terms of knowledge, its understandable due their suppression of all forces within the surrounding kingdoms"
"Still, they're better than the eight noble families martial arts by a bit" Nodding I force myself to my feet and head back to the study room.
Sitting down, I take some paper and pen from te side and begin jotting down notes. Although I dont need to, the ex host spent most his time behind the desk, the habit is ingrained deeply.
Reading through the contents of the dark arts, I come to know its seperated into three catergories.
The first is a martial art called "Eight shadows", its similar to martial arts on earth- karate, tai jitsu, kickboxing etc.
The Second catergory is the cultivation manual, Strengthening your Saint force and the speed of absorbtion.
The third catergory is a Physique Technique, at it peak allows you to cultivate the shadow body.
"There isnt any martial skills" I see there isnt any skills that infuse saint force into your attacks like the blue feather slash.
Its good enough to start cultivating in! before I start cultivating, I stop myself.
"Wait, I shouldnt blindly cultivate into something lest it affects my future cultivation!" Calming myself, I first begin analyzing the technique from the ground upwards.
It takes ten minutes to fully comprehend the initial step, I digest my gains and calculate that it would take 47 hours, 23 minutes to fully understand the entire dark arts if I were to spend all my time on it.
"Theres no rush" Smiling, I concentrate and begin simulating the effects of the dark arts on my model, noting down issues that crop up.
I understand I need to create a stable foundation for the future, my plan for the time being is to fully analyze and determine the effects of having completed the entire dark arts to the peak stage of great completion.
I would then remove any negative effects, but I'm concerned with after removing everything detrimental to my cultivation, then none of its contents would be left to cultivate! afterall it was created by mortals.
"I need to enhance my knowledge on martial arts!" this further increases my desire of entering an academy, if I could access their vault of martial arts, it would speed up my own comprehension and perhaps even enable me to create my own martial arts.
After two hours, I feel my house begin to shake. I get nervous as the Oldman may have found out something, attempting to kidnap me.
I quickly calm down as It isnt only my house thats shaking, the whole street is!
"Earthquake?"
"No!" Coughing I feel something push against my body.
"Its a battle?" I quickly realise that what I felt just now was the Complementary waves of a collision against two peak experts.
Jumping up, I rush towards the second storey window and look outwards. In the horizon Two figures can be seen clashing against one another.
One figure is like a shadow, flickering in and out of existance while the other seems like a head strong warrior whos been forged in battle.
He sends out attack after attack of his sword, but the shadow figure is just too sly and keeps avoiding clashing head on.
"That shadow figure is using the dark arts! hes from the dark faction"
"So the hot tempered warrior must be a paladin" Anyone else thats the same cultivation level as my own would only see two flickers of light.
Due to my mind, Im able to slow my perception of time by seven times as I can just catch them fighting.
"Strange, Although I dont know what stage they are in but they are atleast in the martial master stage"
"While the dark arts empowers people during night, it also supresses those who use light arts"
"The shadow figure should be able to suppress the paladin"
"I see" in a moment of inspiration, I understand what's happening.
"The shadow figure isnt displaying all of his strength, he's only intending to distract the paladin"
"Now that I think about it, thats the location of one of the Temples"
As Im thinking, the battle quickly changes without warning as the paladin notices something, a shocked expression emerges on his usual composed face.
He no longer engages the shadow figure as he ignores his opponent and quickly flees back to the temple.
The shadow seems to laugh as it erupts its full strength, a blade strikes down towards the paladins path of retreat, obviously not allowing him to leave the battle.
Gritting his teeth, the paladin has no choice but to stop and defend otherwise his life may end right here.
Another shockwave spreads out from them at the centre, this time I can see a dust cloud as my hair is pushed back.
Suddenly, without warning an enormous black fireball erupts not far from the two battling figures, engulfing the temples location.
Several shadowy figures can be seen leaving the Temples location as they flee in all directions with enraged paladins on their tail.
Seeing the explosion, the martial master figure nods, before fleeing aswell.
Enraged the paladin gives chase, seeing the paladin chase I shake my head.
"The night belongs to the dark, they should all be able to flee"
"But what an exciting battle!" trembling in excitement, I quickly return to my own seat and resume analysing the dark arts.
My comprehension slows down as I just cant seem to get that battle out of my mind. It should be around 3:00 Am.
Seeing how I cant concentrate, I decide to sleep for the night.
