Mental energy manipulation
I drop down exhausted, Although my body is weak It could still manage to power through 20 minutes of workout.
Its my mind and spirit that's worn out.
"I feel sleepy again" in a daze I subconsciously sit in a meditative posture and begin absorbing saint Force with the low ranked mortal blue feather cultivation technique before falling into slumber again.
I'm not sure how long I was unconscious so I do a quick calculation,
"Its been 2 hours?" I still feel a bit dizzy.
Bringing up my own 3-D model I see the blue cloud has regained 1/10 of its before hand size while my saint force has recovered 70%.
I operate the model and replay function of my talent and create two models side by side within the blue interface.
The model on the left replays my slash with Saint Force while the model on the right uses mental energy.
I watch them a few times, as I observe the right model brighten up as it displays the slash with mental energy.
I immediately know I'm onto something game changing in the way this worlds energy interacts.
The result surprises me as the slash with mental energy is tenfold stronger than its counter part which uses only saint force.
"The mental energy not only is more impactful, it didn't scatter the saint force but instead absorbed it as I noticed the mental energy increased slightly the moment my saint force dried up"
"Its well known that Saint Force is the dominant energy in which only the soul energy can compete but could it be that they're both lesser energies?"
I cant help but get excited, if the saint force was forcefully absorbed and turned into mental energy then doesn't that mean that mental energy is one step above saint force?
I shouldnt carelessly fuse mental energy into any of my attacks until I increase my control over the energy, the last time I was lucky and had a small amount left, what if it all vanished? would my spirit collapse and die?.
shuddering, I realise how rash it was. Lets take it slow and practice carefully.
I begin going through every theory book of jean hills I can remember, I was interested in meta physics on earth but that was all.
I don't have much material but I do have some functions. In the earths past people believed in miracles and magic, even in modern earth people claim they have psychic powers.
Of course most lied but what if some people actually had managed to open a small amount of their mind palace? then wouldn't making a small flame or telekinesis be possible, at least jean hill thinks so.
With a path to follow I begin with testing telekinesis, concentrating I look at the closed book on the desk.
I'm currently 2 meters away from the book.
Furrowing my brows I concentrate and begin manipulating the mental energy, I slowly gather small amounts and send it outwards towards the book.
In my eyes I see a thin cloud of blue mist float towards the book, it covers it in a thin membrane.
"Lift..." I mutter subconsiously.
After 5minutes of trying I dont manage to succeed as the book doesnt even budge.
"I'll give it one last try"
"Ah, nothing" shaking my head, the attempt ends in failure.
"I guess this mental energy isn't as easy to use as I first thought"
"I need to practice mental manipulation some more"
With a thought the mental energy I released gets absorbed back into my mind.
"Eh?" I discover something.
When the energy returned I gained new information, the cover of the book was sent back along with the energy.
Ofcouse I already new what the book looked like, aware of this new ability I quickly send the mental energy back out and cover the book a second time.
"If what I'm thinking can be put into practice, then the plan for later would become smoother" manipulating the energy, I send the mental energy a layer down from the cover of the book to the first page.
Seeing it work, I now pull back the mental energy and yes! I gained the first pages contents again! I didnt even have to open the book for it to work.
"But sending out the mental energy and absorbing it for each page is exhausting" feeling a headache I clench my hands together as I put forward one last attempt.
Sending the energy out a third time I cover the second page of the book this time, instead of bringing back the entirety of the mental energy I only send back a tiny wisp of it.
I watch as a tiny blue dot flows along the mental energy like a boat in a river, it comes to a stop inside my mind.
"Annnd, It worked!" excited, I jump up a bit before sitting back down.
I begin scanning the book layer by layer. just moving down the mental energy by 0.3cm is equal to reading an entire page.
Like a scanning machine, whole pages of contents are being sent back to me through tiny dots of energy.
Its like a network sending information back at quick speeds.
I read the entire book inside and out.
All of its information is quickly analyzed and firmly stored into my mind. All of this seems like a long process but within reality only a few seconds have passed due to how fast my brain processes information.
"I should rest again" Taking back my mental energy, I stay sitting down while I start meditating. I send saint force into my mind to see if it helps me recover mental energy faster.
As I theorized.
"The saint force is swallowed by the mental energy, the entirety of my 70% Saint Force has been consumed while only 7% of mental energy is restored.
"Guess my plans odds of success will be boosted with this new found ability" smiling, I close my eyes.
The plan i have isnt anything complicated, I was going to go the local book shop and secretly read all the books, taking advantage of my supreme intelligence.
Seeing how the scholar exam is in two days, I don't have time to earn money to actually buy the books, this is the only way I can pass.
There were a few problems I was worried about previously, what if the shop keeper gets suspicious as I flip open book after book, watching me flip through the entirety of the pages within moments?
Although they wouldnt know I could remember 100% of the books contents, they would get suspicious, they also wouldn't like me doing it as he may think I'm messing around with the books.
None of that is a concern anymore, with mental manipulation I can read all of the books contents within seconds without even having to touch them.
"I'll spend the next hour restoring as much mental energy as I can"
