Chapter 42: Fussy Sleeper vs Light Sleeper 2
Just like what she wanted, Kazuki dropped her on the bed.
"Oomph!"
Kazuki then wrapped Wu Hexie in her blanket and rolled her, like she was a sushi roll. Hexie became dizzy, muttering weird stuff. Only Wu Hexie's head was seen in the blanket cocoon.
"There. Now, you won't be a 'fussy sleeper'. You're welcome." Kazuki smirked at his artwork.
Wu Hexie grumbled much to Kazuki's delight. He was about to turn the lights off using his remote control when Hexie whined.
"But Boss! It's too hot! Boss, can you please turn the AC's coldness higher? Boss~ pretty please!!"
Kazuki pinched the bridge of his nose to calm his nerves. Was she this talkative and annoying?
Kazuki grunted in annoyance but obliged Wu Hexie's request to shut her up.
"Yey! Thanks!"
It seemed an hour has passed. Their home was peaceful, everyone was probably asleep aside from the guards that was patrolling the area.
Kazuki was grateful that Wu Hexie didn't pry nor made fun of his phobia. He was not yet ready to open up with this confusing girl. He have to find and investigate all the classified infor this girl was hiding.
He was about to drift into his consciousness when he felt a movement from the other side of the bed. He opened his eyes and let his eyes get used to the darkness. He was a light sleeper and would wake up at any sound or movement due to his harsh training in his childhood. It has been engraved in his head to be always alert.
In his peripheral vision, he saw an unnatural figure in Wu Hexie's side of the bed. He squinted his eyes to see what was happening and he almost had a heart attack at the sight.
Wu Hexie wiggling and shaking her head in place. She looked like she was possessed.
"What the hell are you doing, Wu?" Kazuki asked the moment he turned on the lights.
"Oh my gosh! Ah the lights! Oh Boss, did I wake you up?" Hexie asked while blinking rapidly. The sudden brightness hurted her eyes.
"What do you think?" Kazuki sassed.
"I'm really sorry, Boss. I didn't mean to wake you, it's just that my hair...can you please get my hair out? It's making my neck and face itchy~ Boss, pretty please~"
Kazuki only glared at Wu Hexie. True enough, her long and wavy red hair was trapped inside the blanket. So that was the unnatural figure in the darkness.
Now looking closely, she looked like a mushroom, which made Kazuki's lips pull up into a smirk. From Watermelon to Mushroom. What a glow-up. Now is not the time to laugh, Kazuki chastised himself.
"No more request, Wu." Kazuki sent daggers and Wu Hexie meekly nodded. Good chubby bunny.
After complying for her request, Kazuki once again turned off the lights and went back to his area. He was so tired and was ready to sleep.
Just moments later...
"Boss? Before I forget...have you finished reading my proposal?"
"Unbelievable! Will you shut up and sleep if I say that I will sign it tomorrow?" Kazuki grumbled.
"...yes. Thank you so much!" He heard Wu Hexie's merry reply.
He only grunted. Now he was truly convinced that Wu Hexie as the 'Ice Queen' was just a facade. Probably steamed from a huge misunderstanding. Clearly the Wu Hexie he's witnessing now, this chatty, cold temperature loving, glutton, is her real self.
"Boss?"
Kazuki tried his hardest not scream in annoyance.
"Hubby? Choi Kazuki?"
What the hell is this girl doing.
"Kazuki-san? Kazuki-kun? Zuki-kun?"
Kazuki abruptly opened his eyes and finally snapped.
"What?!"
"Hihi, nothing. I just wanna say, Good night, Hubby~"
Then there was silence. Another hour passed. Then another. Wu Hexie was probably sleeping like a log now, while Kazuki on the other hand, lay there awake. He couldn't believe his ears.
In his culture, names and addressing one's name are important as it shows the relationship of the speaker to the owner of the name. And Wu Hexie suddenly calling him by his childhood nickname really shocked him to the core. He never expected that she would shamelessly do that to him, especially now that it was night time. Now that they were sharing the same bed.
He got up and made his way to his study. He needed to distract himself or else. He once again read the business proposal Wu Hexie have been bugging him. The more he read it, the more he got interested.
Now back to the present...
After showering and changing into a casual business suit, he went down to the kitchen to eat breakfast.
"Good morning Zuki-kun! You woke up late!" Kotone greeted her dashing oldest son.
"Morning, Mother." He massaged his the spot between his brows as he strode across the kitchen to drink water.
"Hmmm...Hexie-chan got you good huh? Hihi!" His eccentric mother giggled to herself which made his vein pop. What is she saying?
"No. She was so bad last night that I didn't get a wink of sleep." He nagged.
"Oh! You two are naughty!" Kotone laughed. Looks like his mother misunderstood what he said but Kazuki didn't bother correcting Kotone Choi who was red and in a daze. She's far in her imagination and Kazuki didn't want to disturb her weird daydreams.
"Where's Father?" Kazuki asked after drinking up a glass of water.
"He went to work. He has a scheduled meeting with your Grandfather but he'll be back before dinner."
"I see..."
"Oh my genius son, just focus at taking care of Hexie and your music career for now! Don't mind your grumpy grandpa. Oh right! I prepared your brunch at the pool area."
Kotone pushed Kazuki towards the hall that leads to the west wing, where the pool was located. It made him confused because they never eat over there as Kichiro was never fond of water.
"Why there?"
"Hihi! Chiro-ya is learning how to swim!"
"Huh? Who's the instructor?" Kazuki walked faster. His little brother drowned once and never touched the pool ever again.
