Chapter 267: The Child

"Is it because of what happened between us?" Danson asked secretively as he glanced at the driver to make sure he wasn't listening.

The driver quickly cleared his throat and focused on the road.

"We're both adults. Why are you making such a big fuss?" Danson asked in a quiet voice.

Marissa continued to look out the window and laughed at herself in ridicule, "Yes, we're both adults. I guess it was too childish of me to think that there was actually something between us."

"Something between us? You're the one that's been obsessed with Emerson all these years..." 

The car fell silent again. The tension between the two could not be resolved.

Just before the car pulled up at the Qian Family Home, Danson said one last thing, "Fine, I'll buy the company off you. You can sell the house, I don't want it...Do what you want. I don't care."
