A Welcoming Encounter

With Toriel's death, it shook me. She was really caring, even until the end, where she knows she was going to die. I stood there, looking at the jacket she knitted for me. I put it on me, as a symbol of redemption, or to redeem my sins, and to complete what Toriel has started.

To unify the Underground, and to escape the Underground with no harm.

The gang hollered at me, with some dust on their hands. They must've covered up the mess we've created while the rampage was here.

"Ok, so now what? You got your revenge." The ghost eagerly wants an answer from me and Flowey.

"I don't know really, just lay low and pretend this never happened?" I tried giving a logical, yet soft-'hearted' answer.

"No! We are not done here! We gotta show the world power!"

"Power is not what, or why I fought against Tori… Neither it is for any other reason."

"Jeez. You really bluff a lot don't you?"

"If that makes you understand me, then yeah, so be it."

"Alright." It slammed the floor with its knife. "If this is what we are coming up to, then we'll just take different paths. Nobody likes the idea of each other anyways."

"Hm…" Flowey stood there aloof, "I'm fine with that anyways. I really don't do anything besides what they told me."

Hold up. They? Who could that possibly mean? The king's guardsmen? The king himself? The figure that was talking to me?

"Set. So we are all taking a different path. Everyone cool?"

"Yep." Flowey gave a fake smile.

"Yeah, I guess so." I sighed.

"Hey. Hold up there nice guy." The ghost stopped me by tapping me in the back. "You forgot about our deal."

Right. The deal of determination. "Oh, that. I said I would give you some determination right? How are you going to extract determination from me?"

"Ah, you see. It's actually kinda easy."

It slapped a hand into my body, and started extracting red fluids from my body. It hurted for a little bit, but the extraction stopped. It stored all of that determination in a bottle.

"Alright. We should be good to go. Thanks for your cooperation."

"Uh… you too, I guess?" I awkwardly replied.

We all split off at the hallway, with each different path to take. I went straightforward, to where the exit of the Ruins are, covered in rubble and rocks. Using this newly awakened soul power I obtained,

I blasted the rocks away, revealing a door leading outside the Ruins.

"This is it. What you originally wanted to do."

"Yet you chose a different path."

"Killing innocents like if they were entertainment."

"You really are disgusting after all."

I pulled the handle of the gate, opening it.

I looked back to what I have caused upon here. Deaths and agony

I slammed the gate, never wanting to go back there again.

It was snowy outside. Chill winds flows through me, giving me a small breeze. I was lucky to have this jacket from Tori, or else I would've died from freezing. I headed towards a bridge, with my feet stepping on straight cold ice. It hurts. Each time I got closer and closer to the bridge, a movement around the trees was heard, as if someone is traversing through them. I reached the bridge. The shape wasn't that bad, but it felt poring designed.

"Heya. Pal." A mysterious voice called out.

He was behind me.

I was sweating. "Hey, you."

"Do you not know how to greet a new pal? Turn around and shake my hand." A gigantic smile caught upon his shadow's cover. He is one unordinary monster.

I turn around, with sweats all over my hand, and gives him a neat, gentleman handshake. A loud obnoxious noise loudly played, probably attracted some people around this area.

He pulled off a classics; the whoopie-cushion trick.

"Really? You are old."

We both laugh about the noise for a while, thinking about the whoopie cushion trick. He smiled back at me, and stops leaning on the railing.

"The name's Sans. How about you?"

The figure stands beside me is a short, fat weird skeleton. He's exactly like a typical friend that you would have.

I took way too long for an answer. "Uh… Noob. That's my name."

"Heh. Interesting name. I like it." He complimented

"And I thought my name was funny. I guess we both have weird names."

"Names aren't meant to be funny, though."

"Nah, it's whatever you want it to be."

Having a conversation with a skeleton is probably the weirdest thing you'll ever get to see. It's awkward, and it feels like you are talking to your skeletal body, and it somehow understands you in every way.

"Anyways." Sans finally cuts off the awkwardness. "You see, this bridge was meant to capture humans like you, but looks like my brother overdid his."

"Your brother?" I asked.

"Yeah, you'll get to see him later. Now follow me, so I can vouch for you."

I followed Sans, walking towards a small wooden post, along with a convenience lamp placed behind

the shop.

"Hey. He's up ahead, so hide behind my post. And don't make a sound."

I did what he told me, hiding behind the post. There comes a small footstep, followed by another, and another. I slowly peeked of what Sans' brother looked like. He was double the height of Sans, has a very cool "battle" suit, and a red long scarf around his neck. Oh, and he was also a skeleton.

The skeleton brothers.

"Sans! What've you been doing here all along?" His brother asked with worry

"Ah! Papyrus, you came! I was just uh… doing the usual, guarding the area like how you want me to be." He quickly made up a lie, putting his hands in his pockets.

"Nyeh! That's the spirit, Sans!"

"Yeah, bro."

"But that isn't my typical brother. He would always fall asleep during his guard." Papyrus seems suspicious. "Where is my brother!"

"Papyrus, do you wanna hear a pun?"

"No."

"Tibia honest, I don't wanna tell you right now."

I gave out a small giggle. That was too bad of a pun, but it was funny nonetheless. His brother though, seems really angry at him making puns.

Papyrus gave out a soft sigh. "I guess you are the real one, Sans"

He's too much of a soft guy, and I admired that. Same characteristics about me, which not a lot of people are common to being similar with me. I tried to move closer to the post, but I made a loud creak.

"Sans, I know you are hiding something, is it behind the post?"

Aw, come on. He knows I'm here

I busted out of the post, with my hands out, expecting Papyrus to shake my hand. Surprisingly, he did shake my hand, and gives out a big laugh.

"Nyeh heh! My name is The Great Papyrus! What is yours?"

"Uh. It's Noob." I awkwardly replied.

"Noob! It's nice to meet you here, are you new around the Underground?"

"I suppose you can say so."

"Hm…" Papyrus grows a suspicion on me. "Are you a human?"

"Ah, yes, I am. Does that matter though"

"Well," Papyrus adds. "I have to capture you, and send you to the Royal Guard so I can become a member of the Royal Guard! It's that easy!"

"Pap, you need to train hard for that though." Sans jumped in

"You're right, brother. I need to train with Undyne!" Papyrus confidently said. "I will head off to train, and create many obstacles around for the humans! While that, you are going to watch for more humans to come, right, Sans?"

He fell asleep, standing up, with his hands in his light blue furry jacket pocket. Quick as that.

"I guess he's just my old typical brother." He said to himself, and turns behind, facing me. "Human, please take care of my brother too, will you?"

"Yeah, you got it, Papyrus. Hope your training goes well!"

"Nyeh! Human, my training always goes well!" He said, and flees off, until he's not seen anymore.

Everything was calm now, at least I hope so. I adjusted Sans' body so that he was laying on his post. I stood there, playing around with the snow around me. I reached my hands out, catching a snowflake on my hands. I felt a light warmed hand lifting my hands up, like it was Tori herself trying to speak to me. The snowflake was clear to me that she was sending a message to me.

"Keep moving forth. To the path where it guides you to the light."

I think I've found the light. The light that leads to where I want to belong.

This really reminds me of how my old family used to be, just happy and calm. Now it's just a hell that

I was forced to stay. I was just an obstacle for them, nothing. The moment I broke out of the house, I felt freedom, as if it was just like the old days.

I didn't have the care that I needed. Instead, I got the hatred from my parents. I can't care enough for someone, nor I can't afford to care for anyone. I just can't care.

But, maybe these monsters will help me to revive my care for people.

Maybe Sans and Papyrus will help me to see the light, the true light that Toriel wants me to see.
