For the 1st year school period Duke found what the teacher taught to be a bit redundant and was able to do all the school work way ahead of time. Comparatively the school work in Asia countries has much more school work and kids at a young age will have a lot of school work.
However, Duke was able to do most of the school work as the teacher was teaching in class as he is able to process the information faster than the other students. So he's ranked number one academically not only for his class but for the whole grade. Every single test he would speed through.
Maybe it's due to what happened in his first life but Duke is determined to use time properly and he found himself interested in this new world. So he spends 2 hour after school at the local library gathering information from books about history, science, and mathematics.
But much of his time is actually spent gathering as much information he can find on music. Despite his knowledge of a wide range of contemporary rap music from his other world, he still doesn't really know how music works.
After going to the library he would head home to cook with his grandma and help out in the kitchen. Although she can definitely cook by herself, Duke's worried about accidents that will happen in the kitchen. Especially since she's already of an old age.
Later he would spend the time leftover from dinner on writing on a new novel on the desktop. And would head to sleep pretty late into the night, but with the increased Soul Power he only needs 6 hours even for this young age.
And like this more than half a year has passed by very quickly. Within this time period Duke finished writing a few popular novels such as "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" series. Suddenly people from around the world begin to become interested in this new author.
Now every month his books are gathering so much income than before, he predicts that within a year the book would reach their full potential audience. Soon it would gather more than a million dollars in sales by the end of the year.
One day as he was walking to the library a kid wearing his school's uniform came up to him, "Hey! Our boss wants you." You can see he's skinny and not with much strength. The type to join the pack to condescend on others.
Duke, very well aware of what might happen cautiously followed the young boy within his age to an empty corner of the street. There were 3 older guys that were probably a few grades ahead of him standing awaiting him.
These seniors had their uniforms a little disorderly probably pretending to be some delinquent. With one of the taller boy with red dyed hair smoking a cigarette that's dangling in his mouth which is obviously the alpha of the group.
Soon looking at Duke with a condescending grin he began to speak, "I heard you're quite the student. Now I won't make life hard for you if you listen to my order." He laid his arm on Duke's shoulder as he spoke and tried to show his presence.
Hearing him speak, Duke figured out pretty quickly that these seniors want him to do their school work. Which is a common thing in his school for the guys to do.
Without speaking a word Duke launched his fist into that older boy's gut and with all his strength managed to launch him to the ground. The other boys watching this were quite shocked at Duke's atrocity, and still haven't been able to react yet.
With a quick stride Duke was able to efficiently reach one of the shorter guys and kicked him in the groin. Which left him crunched up on the ground in pain.
But then he felt a kick at his back which sends him sprawling onto the floor. Turning his back he saw it was the other bigger kid that was in the corner originally watching the whole thing. Now he has a bat and is about to use it on him.
Duke watched this whole change of scenario without being able to react to everything quick enough. As though his body suddenly freezes as the pain in his back still reaches to him. Due to his lack of fighting experience he wasn't expecting such an attack.
Suddenly as the bsat was about to hit Duke a black shadow resembling a hand suddenly appeared and grabbed the bat tight. Even though the corner of the street is very dark, a light from the sun shines and reflects a corner of the samaritan's head.
From the small bit of light on the right corner of the samaritan reflects the of a man with black hair and a stern look on his eyes. Meanwhile the light also shows the dragon tattoo that is on his right arm where he's wearing white tank top.
Even through the white tank top, through it there's a sharp scar that on his chest, evidently from a competitive street fight. The boy that was originally about to hit Duke looked over his shoulder to see who stopped him.
Just by standing there the man's size towers over all these children and there's this powerful presence about him that made the boy hesitate. And the bully dropped his holding of the bat after realizing the power this man might have. Soon the bullies all fled without looking back at the scene.
After seeing that all the bullies have left Duke looked up to see an outstretched hand, "Thanks." Getting up and dusting the dirt from his clothing.
The man once again looked sternly at Duke as though observing for a decision, "No prob boy, call me Hong." The man relaxes his observation and pat Duke's shoulder with a smile. Just from a small pat Duke was able to feel the enormous strength hidden inside those biceps.
Soon Hong was about to leave the scene, then suddenly he turned his head and said with a smile, "Boy you got potential, come by this boxing gym." With that Hong reaches into his pocket for a business card which he flicks to Duke.
Duke quickly snaps the card that's flying to him and sees the address. By the time he looked up to see Hong there's only a distant shadow that's running far away.
