Summer at the Delacours

His parents were waiting for him at King's Cross, Bella ran up to him and gave him a tight hug.

"You have grown! You need a haircut to." she said, ruffling Art's long hair.

Art was wearing jeans and a white t-shirt, changing from his normal robes. Getting into the car, the 3 of them heading home. Art's home hadn't changed since he left, entering his room his place his bag that Amelia gave him on his dresser before taking out his books. Placing them on the bookshelf, he felt the urge to buy some more from Diagon Alley but decided not to. Going downstairs, he saw that Bella was cooking in the kitchen while Tim was cleaning a handgun at the table. Tim saw him and stood up before motioning towards the door. Art smiled bitterly as he knew what was coming.

Art and Tim sparred for over an hour and switched from fists to staff then to knives. Tim didn't say anything but Art knew that he had impressed him. Even after Tim went back inside, Art continued to practice with throwing knives on a tree. Throwing knives were similar to a spell, fast and undetectable. It was the surprise attack that would give him the advantage in a fight. Soon supper was served and Art ate voraciously, causing Bella to smile. A week later, Amelia stopped by and gave Art a deep hug. Bella invited her to stay for supper which she agreed. Sitting around the table, the mood was happy and conversation flowed between Bella and Amelia.

When Art was brought up, she informed the Sullivans that Art's performance at Hogwarts was truly impressive, even surprising people in the Ministry. Bella and Tim swelled with pride as they heard the news. She told them he was taking extra classes after the teachers found out he was bored in class causing a light scolding from Bella about bothering his teachers.

Amelia smiled before talking to Art directly. "So what classes do you want to take that Hogwarts doesn't offer?" she asked referring to his letter.

"Healing, Warding, Alchemy, Occlumency and Dueling." Art listed off the subjects that were not taught at Hogwarts that he found interesting.

Amelia frowned after she heard Art. "You can take Alchemy in your 6th and 7th year… but the others are a bit more difficult. I will have to talk to Dumbledore before giving you an answer." she said slowly, her brows scrunched together.

"Don't trouble yourself too much Aunt Amelia. This is just a whim of mine." Art said not wanting to cause too much work for her.

"No. Your education is important and you should be learning as much as you can while in school." Amelia dismissed his objection, her face still looking troubled.

"Thank you." Art kindly said.

The rest of the meal passed harmoniously, Amelia left soon after and Art helped with the dishes. Bella told him that they planned to go to France for a month this summer to visit her parents.

"Why do you go there mom? All they do is judge us." Art was confused on her insistence on visiting her parents.

Bella slowly cleaned a plate, "They are my parents. Whether they like it or not, you are my family and they have to get use to it." she said, giving Art a sad smile.

Art nodded his head, if they went to France he could go visit the Delacours and meet some magical creatures hopefully. His obsession with magical creatures seemed to grow as he read Scamander's book. The world was filled with incredible creatures that Art wanted to meet and explore but being only 12 years old he would have to wait. Though he wasn't allowed to do magic, his kept up with his studies and learn the theoretical side of many spells, including spells for his O.W.L.S exams. His spars with Tim continued and he continued to improve even earning a smile from Tim.

Amelia stopped a couple weeks later looking exhausted. Apparently she was having a tough time at work but wouldn't reveal anything to Art.

"Professor Flitwick is more than willing to teach you Warding and Dueling. He is excited to see you achieve your full potential. For Healing, Dumbledore said if Madam Pomfrey is willing to teach you, you could learn from her. Alchemy is a no go as you are too young and have too little of a potions and magical understanding. You will have to wait until 6th year. As for Occlumency… Professor Snape said he would teach you." Amelia told him, seeming to not like the idea of Snape teaching him though.

Art thanked her once again and Amelia smiled and told him she expected great things from him but made him promise not to give Susan anymore muggle video games. Art laughed and promised her, not telling her that he already sent a new batch of game to her a couple days ago.

After learning that he would be taking new classes in his second year, his mood was jubilant. His parents were busy packing for the trip to France. Art had been keeping contact with Fleur and Gabrielle through letters and told them he would be in France soon.

The family was soon on a plane over to France and after a couple hours of travel they were back at his grandparents mansion. The Berger's were much warmer this time, welcoming them at the door. Art was respectful and polite to them, saying that he was in an elite boarding school in North America. This surprised them, causing them to treat him better. After a couple days, a butler came to Art's room.

"Sir, two madams are at the door asking for you." he said, he seemed a little dazed.

Art smiled, knowing that Fleur and Gabrielle probably charmed this poor butler. Running downstairs he saw two beautiful blonde girls standing there. Fleur was wearing a blue sundress that made her look like a fairy while Gabrielle was wearing a pink dress, giving Art the instinct to pinch her cheeks.

"Hello Fleur, Gabrielle. You both look beautiful." Art said smoothly in french.

"Thank you Artland." Fleur smiled brightly as Gabrielle blushed slightly.

Hearing someone approach them, Art turned and saw his parents.

"Mom, dad, this is Fleur and Gabrielle Delacour, my friends." Art introduced them. "Delacours, this is Bella and Tim Sullivan, my parents."

"Pleasure to meet you." Bella smiled and shook the two girls hand.

Tim, not being fluent in french, simply nodded his head and shook their hands.

"Do you go to the same school as Art?" Bella asked, already friendly with the two beautiful girls.

"No ma'am. I go to Beauxbatons which is here in France. Gabrielle is too young for school but will also go there in a couple of years." Fleur told her.

Bella nodded her head and invited them inside for a drink. Sitting at the large table, Bella made pleasant conversation with Fleur mostly while Gabrielle only answered questions directed at her. They continued to talk which cause Art to look at Tim in exasperation which he replied with a knowing smile. After what seemed like a year, Fleur asked Bella if Art could spend the day with them at her house, which Bella agreed.

The three of them soon left the Berger's mansion and headed over to the Delacours. After a bit of walking, tapping on a certain stone and saying some strange words, they were through the wards and arrived at the Delacours mansion.

Art was amazed once again at the beauty and mystery of magic. He quickly ran towards the unicorn which he met last year. The unicorn seemed to remember him and trotted towards him, letting him pet it.

"Still don't know how you do that… are you a girl by chance?" Fleur looked at him curiously.

Art sent her a dirty look, "Do you want me to prove I am a boy?"

Fleur flushed furiously before shaking her head. Gabrielle giggled at her sisters reaction. The three of them entered the house, Mr. and Mrs. Delacour were sitting at the table looking over some parchments. Seeing Art, Mrs. Delacour came over and gave him a hug before asking him how his first year was. The two of them conversed for a while before Fleur dragged him off.

She showed him Bowtruckles, Fairies and other beasts in small forest they had on her property. The also flew around on broomsticks, chasing each other around playing a dangerous game of tag. Art caught Gabrielle who had fell off her broom by accident causing the game to end.

Art went over to the Delacours almost everyday over the summer vacation, becoming close friends with the two girls. Soon the summer was coming to an end and Art had to head back to the UK. Saying his goodbyes, he promised to write to them both.
