Patty stood there for a moment. It's like a dream come true for her. She can't believe she will meet him here, in a country where they are just tourists. 'What was he doing here? Is he here also for a vacation? How was he doing for the past three years?' Questions start to flood her thoughts until a voice woke her.
"Hey ms. Patricia Wright! are you still on earth or in another planet? I can't reach you." Trixie patted her on her shoulder to get her attention.
"Oh. You're there"
"Duhh" Trixie rolled her eyes "I've been here for 30 seconds. let's go to my table. my coffee is lonely" she pulled Patty's hand and guide her to her table and wave to a waiter for the menu. She ordered for her bestfriend because Patty looked like she was not herself.
When the waiter went back with her order and left, Trixie broke the silence. " wlWhat got in to you? You looked like you saw a ghost. You've been quiet since we sat down. Are you okey Patty?" with a tone of concern in her last phrase.
Patty looked deep in the eyes of the girl across her. "I saw Tyler." With that one sentence, Trixie now know why she's acting like that. She knew that Patty was a coward once Tyler was involed. Even in a small thing, she don't have the courage to come neer him. It's like he is a saint and she's a sinner, too afraid to be judge.
"What did he do? Did he say something?"
"He bumped into me and oh Trix! He talked to me! Oh my goodness!" a glint of happines was on her eyes remembering what happened awhile ago. "He apologized for bumping into me but who cares?! He talked to me! haha"
"That's it?" one of Trixie's eyebrow raised, "I'll guessed, you just stood there staring at him. Didn't say anything nor do anything. You just let him go"
"Well, what should supposed to happened?
Trixie rest her elbow in the table and she sipped in her coffee before looking at her. " It supposed to be this way," she paused for a meantime, "Hey young fellow! You bumped into me and I fell on my butt and what do I get?! Sorry is not enough! You need to compensate me!" together with her hand gestures, she acts like an angry monkey.
"Compensate?"
"Yeah. You should have asked him for compensation. Like giving his number to you or have a dinner with him."
" Ohh!" Patty made an o shape in her mouth. "i should have done that but what I did was to stare at him. I'm so stupid! That's my chance and I let it go" her shoulders dropped and sipped at her coffee lazily. She regrets that she didn't do anything. That was the chance she's been praying for years. She even swore that she will trade her antique jar collections if she could talked to him. But she let the chance slipped away.
