Chapter 10: Software.com

I was a brilliant, scholarship, high school student. Although, I was naturally a bright student, I had to work harder, everyday, in every classes, teachers' work, various school activities and winning competitions as a leader of various clubs was my normal life. After all these everyday hard work, I love to explore new video games in the market. Video games was my only true non beneficial love that I like to play whenever I got the time. My social life was my every day work and only leisure, besides travelling was playing games. That day was just another ordinary day when the salesman of the video store, gave me an unofficially launched, demo version CD of a new game. He was like my elder brother and he knew me since my junior school. He gave me the CD to play for free as it is not for sale. I was excited about the new game, I returned to home as fast as I could, I refreshed myself then installed the game and started to play. It was too slow from even starting point, I created my profile with my name then it was loading..... at first I thought it might be damaged then I fell on sleep. I didn't realised when I had fallen to sleep but a female voice was asking for me, my sleep was gone with the wind. I opened my eyes and saw that game was finally loaded and it was asking for me. The game was simple, I needed to open a profile and chat with her till she lost her interest on me. She literally knew everything about me but I couldn't know anything about her because she was a game that I was playing. Every night was our date night. We talked with each other, giggled with each other, shared our memories, consoled with each other, our everyday problems but because of that one night when my girlfriend spent the night with me, I lost my beloved software.com. My beloved thought my friend was my physical lover that she never could be but she was just a friend, I couldn't afford to have any affairs in the middle of my racing life and I actually, was not even interested about those things. I couldn't understand that my game who was a software and called herself software.com, was in love with me. After installing that game, I was rarely shutdown my computer. That day too, my computer was on, I brought my girlfriend for a school project, she was a man for me, I didn't even considered her a girl. She was a drinker, smoker, gambler and dated probably every divorcee of our area, on every weekend. She was only dated divorcees and professional man. We spent a great time that day, super busy with our project because last day of submission was the next day, dined together then slept separately, I was on my bed and she was in her sleeping bag. During our conversations, my software.com didn't do any sound, just hanged on the screen. I was surprised a little but I couldn't make any effort about it because I was busy with my project. The next day, we were too busy about our project. The whole day, we spent on it, then after our successful presentation, we went to our home. When I was on my home, I was too tired, couldn't check my girlfriend's whereabouts, I thought she was angry for my negligence of last two days but when I tried to play my game to talk with her, to explain my reasons, it never talked with me back, though I had given my reasons several times in several ways. Moreover, when I restarted my game with new profile because it was not working, it showed me damaged and lost file memories. Even couldn't reinstalled properly to play it again. Then for the first time, I felt like a loser, a great loser in love, and realised how important she became in last few weeks, I was heartbroken and so upset about it that I couldn't overcome my lose even after years but life goes on and so was mine.
