Chapter 20: Chapter 19: How to recruit new members
Skylar, Shin, and Barry have just finished doing the tests, they were told that the result would come out tomorrow evening so they could do whatever they want until then.
It was already night when they finished the tests so they just went back to the ship and did what they had to do. Skylar and Shin trained themselves in their respective room, Barry trained with the group and after reported a review of today's events, of course, the others reported to him first before he made a review out of it to report it to Skylar and Shin. After they ate dinner together and went to sleep.
The next day, they woke up and started their morning routine. They would first wash, go to the training room and train under the guidance of their specific teacher. There are three teachers, Barry, the hidden weapon expert, Shin would teach the members interested in swordsmanship and Skylar would train the Martial Artists wannabes.
Finishing training they take a bath, eat breakfast and everyone goes continue the tasks issued by the boss. And one of the main task given by Skylar was to recruit new blood. Last they recruited quite a bit, like ten or so people.
The thing is quite easy, the targets Skylar told them to focus on was the kids that lost their parents to the marines, poor kids and the delinquents that think that they run things on their streets.
To win over the people in the first category is easy, they naturally hate the marines, so if we give them hope of revenge, a place to live decently and good training they will easily be loyal to you.
For poor people, you have to be more gentle, they are the one that takes the most time to rope in, that's why you have to take your time with them. First, you have to approach them carefully to not make them suspicious of you, after you accommodate them and offers help. Most of them have ill family members or have lived through some tragic sh*t, that's why we need to console them give them hope. Explain our plan vaguely, tempt them and promise to always protect their families. (AN/: They really gonna protect them, that was not a lie)
As for the delinquents you need to be more ruthless if you know what I'm saying. First, beat them up, then bring them to the ship beat them up again and again until they submit and leave the rest to the Lord.
Skylar being the lord of that Ship has a way to tame and make a human being more loyal than a dog in less than a week time. Nobody knows how he does that, only Shin and Skylar know that it is done by training. There is an art in the way you train people, making them show their true goals and personality through it.
It is a technique he learned from his dad in case he would inherit the dojo and teach Martial Arts too. He is finally able to use it and we guarantee that it has a 100% success rate in whoever is weaker than him. He even wanted to do it to Shin too but decided to go against it.
Apart from recruiting potential fighters, the Lord told them to recruit job masters like navigators, they still don't have any specialized navigator they relied on Shin's subpar skills to come here, their initial goal was not even here but what can we do.
Anyways, they would need some navigators, some cook too because until now it was the Lord, Skylar, that has been cooking. The crewmates don't wanna see that anymore, it's a disgrace for them to let their Lord cook for them. Unfortunately, they can't do sh*t about that, they would be more ashamed to see their Lord eat their shitty cooking, compared to that this is nothing.
They also needed doctors in case some of the crewmembers get heavy damage or become ill. A doctor is a must in a pirate Ship and Skylar's will not be an exception. He still doesn't know which One Piece Character to pick as a doctor to be part of his crew but he is still thinking about it. Or he can just have some luck and find a super genius in term of medicine and he can take him in, luck is a talent too.
Skylar also requested to look for blacksmiths and the more they recruit the better, he has plans he can't accomplish without them. Plus, if they own a lot of blacksmiths their weapon supply would be high and they would even be able to start working in the underground world as weapon suppliers.
Participating in the underground business is a must for Skylar, that's why he had plans to take Capone Bege as a crew member. Bege is a true gangsta, normal means would not work on him so Skylar has to go by himself, use his hands tame him and control him so that he would be loyal to them.
In piracy, betrayal is a common thing, that is why Skylar is using that technique to tame them. It is not some hypnosis sh*t, it is real, no matter the strength of the opponent, even if they were gods, after surviving Skylar's training they would not leak any information even if you used the cruelest way to torture someone on them.
Then it's got to be a matter of fact that the training issued by Skylar would Hell, Shin knows something about that.
If Skylar wants to recruit Capone Bege he has to go to West blue and search for him. Well, that would not be a problem since Skylar doesn't plan to go to Paradise this early why wouldn't he look around the four seas first. Plus he is older than the main cast by five whole years. That means he has four years before the start of cannon, of course, he ain't gonna wait until then to start his project.
Anyway, Skylar has a lot of time to make himself a big character in this world, why not take his time. Plus he is super weak right now, I mean he is not weak but a vice-admiral can still beat him, with some difficulties, in a fight.
The many goals he has set in this life are all difficult ones and we can say that the easiest one of them is to topple at least half of the kingdom affiliated with the World Government. And the most difficult one is to discover why he and other anime character have been summoned in this world, probably the interference of some divine being, we never know.
In between these two, there are lots of other goals that need to be done and not one of them can be done alone. At least right now he has Shin and Barry he considers as true friends and maybe in the future more of them will appear to help him in this endeavor.

After sending the guys to do their respective tasks Skylar and Shin didn't have anything to do so they decided to do more training. Barry too joined them because yesterday he finally discovered that he truly was weak.
Soon the time to take the results came and without any surprises, they all passed with flying colors. Skylar and Shin got a full score and obtained the right to meet the headmaster the next day and Barry, he really surprised everyone he got 97 out of a hundred points, he also gained the right to meet the headmaster.
His high score was probably due to his to the first and last test because he only got the power of a low-level great elder. If that's the case, he must have had a full score in both the first and last test.
Anyway, tomorrow they will be able to meet Kurogane Ikki and Skylar can finally start investigating a question he always asks himself whenever he wakes up in the morning. Why was he summoned in this world?
