Chapter 8: 7

The snow storm hissed and whirled removing the natural layer of air around the three witches causing them to slightly shiver, this was quickly solved by a light blue barrier popping into existence to protect them.

Snake's blood was warm blooded allowing him to negate the main flaws of snakes to the cold, and his affinity towards the wind caused the storm to avoid his surroundings, to an extent.

Making sure to avoid the visible attacks of the pearl, Snake slowly edged forward, whilst Lily, Violet and Elizabeth observed tensely, preparing to save Snake from potential harm if required.

Snake came to a halt a meter away from the pearl, due to the pearl creating a wind shield around itself it would be hard to take without harming it, Snake was not concerned with the weak gales and blades being shot out of from the pearl.

Snake Observed for any weaknesses the shiel processed, the outline of the shield was weaker near the apoapsis of the pearl and strongest near the periapsis.

Taking advantage of this, snake lightly jump in the air and shook his body, pushing a wing through the shield and using it to wrap and secure the pearl.

Landing on the ground with acrobatic grace, Snake was met with applause by his small audience of three and he handed the sky snow to Violet.

"Mission complete, let's meet up with the knuckleheads at the base of the mountain, deliver the parcel, then go. The icy cold is harsh on the skin and complexion" (Violet)

*Hawoooo*

"*Sigh*, No rest for the wicked, Snake we will handle the hidden, just defend yourself and dodge any strong ones if they break through our defence" (Elizabeth)

Violet moved in front of Snake, whilst the other two flanked his sides, creating a triangle with Snake at the centre.

*TaTaTaTaTa*

Swift footsteps impacted the snow, blocking the path we took to ascend and a creature very similar to a werewolf appeared, with thick matted silverish blue fur and sharp claws. The reason these..... things, weren't werewolves was due to their tails, yep, tails. Each creature had three tails with the centre tail having a scorpion stinger and the other two just having swords.

When the vanguard of the creatures came within six meters they attempted to leap, claws extended, mouth ready to bite and tear flesh apart. However they were bisected into two by vines, the second row were decapitated by ice and the third row exploded into a bloody mess sending deadly fragments into the few survivors left.

The first wave dying did not deter the other hidden and they swarmed over like ants.

*Splat* *Cruch* *Slicst*

Strange sounds came from the deceased hidden, and the bisected and decapitated bodies merged together eventually forming into a bipedal mess with hollow frames, hanging jaws and blood pouring from their mouth and wounds, zombie like in appearance.

Looking more ferocious than their counterparts, these creatures charged towards their former brethren using their jaws to rip, twist and consume flesh, whilst their claws pounded and sliced through the silverish blue hide of these wolf like creatures. Their tails were more like tentacles, having been relocated onto their mouth or chest making their killing efficiency increase. One dead wolf could kill three of the living per clash.

However this advantage was being destroyed by a four meter wolf with pure silver fur and one tail, which decided to join the fray. This wolf fired several blue flames towards it's undead kind which caused them to quickly fall apart.

This caused the trio of death to focus their attention on this outlier. Numerous vines swarmed up, creating a large thorny bush, whilst Violet and Elizabeth combined their ice and a strange black substance to create some sort of black ice spear.

*Whoosh*

The spear fired towards the bush, which swayed gently creating a path for this black missile to strike the fire wolf? Fire werewolf? Any way, the spear hit with deadly accuracy despite the wolf attempting to avoid the attack.

*Fooming, Crack*

Ice formed on the wolf's torso and a massive black stain could be seen spreading outwards from the wound.

*Thud*

*Hawooo*

The collapse of this variant wolf seemed to have triggered a mass withdrawal from the wolves which quickly scattered down the mountain.
