Chapter 6: C5
It was the 31st of October, 1982, when the mercenary squad set off, the month and the day holding the significance of the Potters and Voldemort's demise and in muggle society, Halloween.
Everyone but Snake had a broomstick. Snake was the only exception due to the strength of his mana input destroying the delicate circuitry of modern broomsticks and the wood of simple ones. So with a shake of his body and a bit of transformation magic, large draconic wings unfolded from his back and he took off into the sky following the others.
Twenty four hours of flying, not including the hundreds of stops they made, the group of ten individuals had finally arrived at their target location.
Gliding gently down, nine out of the ten individuals dismounted a broomstick and handed it to Snake, who dismissed his transformation before storing the brooms.
"So does everyone remember the secondary task?"
The original members of the team grew tense.
"KILL THE SPY!"
And with that command, hundreds of spells crashed into Zylus, leaving a trickle of blood to run down his mouth, and a gaping hole in his torso.
Touching the wound and staggering backwards, Zylus disbelievingly expressed his last words.
"How? How did you discover me? I had you all fooled"
"When I brought you into the squad I already knew you were a death eater spy, and I simply told everyone but Snake you were one. However, Snake has many secret abilities including the 'All seeing eyes', otherwise known as dragon eyes, which allow him to see mana, detect lies and pick up on invisible phenomenon, so I was surprised when he kept reporting what you were doing to his teachers, don't look so surprised, if we seriously left you to teach him he would be a weakling who can't speak properly. So, the reason we are killing you now, hahaha, the good side is gonna win as prophesied since the Gods who changed fate, do not know the significance of a prophecy. Although prophecies can be broken it requires three things, strength, moral and fate. In the case of Harry Potter, the tragic hero always wins or is used as a martyr for the next group of people, let alone muggles who have guns,bombs and nukes. These factors will lead to Voldemort's permanent demise, and staying affiliated with death eaters is a death sentence. Oh you're already dead, sigh"
Clicking his fingers Zylus's body turned to ash. Turning around to Snake who has had a puzzled expression since the last meeting Rex stated:
"Ok, I can tell you have a question fire away"
"Are Gods and Goddesses real?"
"Yes and no. In the mortal realm no, in the orthodox and unorthodox realms, otherwise known as heaven and hell, yes, they exist. To explain the realms, I'll use an analogy to explain, imagine three walls one in front of another equidistant apart, these walls are riddled with tiny holes other than the middle wall and going from the middle wall to an outer wall is easier than the reverse. This is because when a mortal ascends or descends, they are small enough to enter these holes, however creatures from these realms are to big and powerful to get through, so in some cases they weaken themselves or send an avatar through so they can experience mortality, this can cause the death of the being so what they normally do, is mess with fate. To describe fate, imagine many tiny webs between the outer walls and the inner wall, with each web being a script to an event, now most scripts force, light against dark, good against evil, or simply hell against heaven, and the main reason for the disputes is due to there originally being one realm, which I'll explain further. The original primordial creatures gained consciousness and self awareness, dividing the realm into good and evil and eventually splitting them in half, although creatures like titans, dragons, basilisks and creatures of similar strength created pocket realms for there races avoiding calamity. The two sides couldn't negotiate and waged a heavy war, damaging both realms and weakening all Gods and creatures other than the ones which hid. However, from this destruction came creation, and the fragmented pieces of the two realms made a wall in the middle acting as a barrier and creating mortals, the go between of good and evil. But, the Gods and evil Gods held lofty grudges and since they couldn't penetrate this barrier, so they used fate and a mysterious way of communicating to bet and battle using mortals or demi mortals, if they wanted to cheat. So, now to the events in Great Britain, the God of Light is betting against the God of darkness and using the right of the underdog to add in a prophecy to make both sides equal… not! The prophecy means the good sides gonna win, hence why you are joining Hogwarts. Now go and join those three to search for the snow."
Discreetly using sign language towards the three, Rex said with his gestures:
"Your second priority is the snow, first and foremost check if Snake is ok, and if he is dealing with Zylus' death in a healthy fashion, and make sure to comfort him, not in a perverted manner, if you overstep your bounds you'll be punished for more than what your attempt is worth"
