*Fwoosh!* Pressure went out as Harry shot through the air to get the ball back. Christian just shook his head in annoyance. Jumping on his broom, he shot off in pursuit. The duo going through the air with natural and practiced ease.
Christian caught it before Harry did. Just a 1/4 of an inch. The duo received cheers from the crowd as they came back down. The Remembrall shot out of Christians hand. As if pulled by something. Harry went after it. Recovering Christian did the same.
"A little jello for the inevitable fall." Alex said. A wave of his wand and a thin sheet of jello floated out. The two chased the Remembrall around the tower. Both hitting it at one point knocking debris to the ground. "That looks painful."
"Who is cursing it?" Hermoine looked around. But she didn't see any students chanting. They were to close together to see any wand movement between them. 'So is it someone in the school?'
"Stupify!" Alex attacked the Remembrall. The spells went in the air hitting both Christian and Harry. They fell to the ground like rocks. Harry holding the Remembrall in hand. "Good work everybody, just stand there like dumb-dumbs."
"What were we supposed to do?" Ron looked at him like he was crazy. Several of the students doing the same. "Not everyone was captured and tortured.. owww!" He received an elbow from Draco. "Sorry."
*Boing!* The two bounced off the jello sheet a final time before it evaporated. Alex moved to fix the damage to the tower.
The students gathered around Alex in a huddle. Asking how he knew what to do. It was to simple for him and Christian to do something to it. Even Hermoine realized it afterward.
"Maybe he did it to make himself look better." A student mumbled.
"I did not do it." Alex said. He looked at the others who looked away. "If you do not believe me, there is nothing I can do about it."
"So his Remembrall was not cursed by you. Then who did it?" Harry asked. He looked around at the others who remained silent.
"Enough Potter." Draco said. "It could have just been an accident. Or a malfunctioning of a spell by someone else."
"I agree." Christian said. "We should just relax and wait for the teacher to come back anyway."
"It is good no one hurt themselves in my absence." Ms.Hooch said. She looked at the students who didn't dare look away. Her eyes landed on Alex. Following his gaze at the side of the building, she watched as it was repaired. "I say young Alex, you are quite good at repairing things."
"Uh-huh." Alex answered not really paying attention. "Just do not like seeing this place all beaten up. It is a weird sensation. I think someone hexed me." He said in gest. But someone did actually put a hex on him. Just couldn't figure out who and why.
"I think you would do great as a helper on the Quidditch Field. Ms.Hooch said with a smile.
Alex stopped cold. "No. I have tons of other things to do. I also hate Quidditch. not exciting enough. Now if wizard dueling was added... that would be awesome."
Christian had gotten him to practice beforehand in Quidditch. Alex liked to go fast and take insane turns. Putting himself in danger and jumping off the broom from insane heights to free fall.
Reminded him of parachuting and base jumping.
"Like what?" Ron asked. "What is more important than Quidditch?"
"Studying and learning things. Something you Weasley, seem to fail at. Which is odd considering your pops is in the ministry. Things would go better for your family if stupid kids like you wouldn't make things worse."
"Alex!" Christian chastised his friend. "Do not start cutting into him. He is just a kid." A few other students chuckled. Considering they were all about the same age.
"Right...." Alex built up a bundle of magic and sent a pulse toward the remaining damage. "Better." The speed of repairs was quicker now.
The building was repaired faster. The restoring effect even spread to the roof in that area. Even the color returned a little as the cracks healed. Ms.Hooch looked ever more impressed.

-Intro to Herbology-
.
"So.. why not join?" Hermoine asked Alex. She was next to him and tried to figure out a few spells she was having trouble with. "It would do well for your schooling and prospects."
Ms.Sprout their teacher left the two alone for some reason. Mostly because she enjoyed seeing the look of interest in the field. With Christian and Neville as well enjoying the class she had her hands full making sure everyone was attended to.
'So many hardworking diligent students! I have the best class this year. Should I bring back the advanced herbology students I wonder?' Ms.Sprout was lost in her thoughts. But only for a moment. Christian caught her eye when he grabbed at a small rake. "No no, not that one. That will make the soil to loose. This particular plant grows to fast if you do that. It must be challenged!"
"Ok." Christian smiled and switched the rake Neville was using. "So the best way to do it is how?" He knew what to use but he was trying to relate with Neville more.
"It is just to boring." Alex said. "Now let us focus on the test ok?" She gave him a nod. "So if we mix the soil with snails, living snails mind you, The Arias plant will grow greatly potent."
"But living snails.. gross." Hermoine rather not do so. "Maybe the decrease in the potion will not be that bad?"
"Suit yourself." Alex pulled out a few snails. Mixing them into the pot. A small incantation blended them into the soil. The snails were ripped apart. Juices and guts latch onto the seeds. "Nice."
"Ok class, time for the bonus assignment. Can you all guess what this is?" She held up a plant in a pot. The others looked at each other questioning. Alex and Christian stared in horror. Both flickering their wands around towards the plant. "This is an older Mandrake. Not as bad as the younger ones when replanting. Calm down you two. It will not act up like the kids do."
"Haaaa, good." Alex sighed. He did not want to hear the cry out. "Hate that stupid plant."
"It is not all that bad. Is it?" Hermine asked. Unknowing of the horrors the creatures possessed. Alex and Christian nodded in agreeance. "I think you two are just big babies."
"Remember when you take the course next year." Alex mumbled. Ms.Sprout came over and looked over Alex's pet project. A quick check over the soil and she was amazed at the potency. The protection spell she believed was a little much. "Hmm?"
"You use magic a lot. Why is that?"
"Well, I could wake up and it could all be gone. Besides, I spent a good bit of time not using magic in my life. So... yeah." Alex shrugged. Not wanting to go into details.
"Lots of protection spells. And nurturing spells." Ms.Sprout placed it back down and moved to another table. "School is a safe place Mr.Ravenclaw." Alex and Christian shared a look. They did not say anything, however.
.
After Class-
.
Alex was eating in the dining hall. His plate was full of food as his appetite was quite large today. While he ate a few students made it over. Slightly intruding, despite the open spaces available.
"So Alexander, heard you are pretty smart." A Ravenclaw student asked.
"Look, whatever you want, write it down or just spit it out. I am studying something important. Do not have time for anything weird or outlandish."
"Told you he was an ass." Another student said. He tried to grab the book Alex had but was deflected by the scarf Alex wore. It whipped out against the student's hand. Leaving a whelp against it. "Ouch! What the hell man?!"
"You shouldn't try snatching things. We should just leave him alone." A second-year said. He was already backing away from the table.
"This little first-year needs a lesson. Stupify!" The snatcher said.
*Bwoom!* The spell hit against Alex. Then reflected back twice as strong. Sending the snatcher across several tables. Hitting several other students in the process. Alex was none the wiser as he kept reading and eating.
"Why is it so hard to build a bloody Homunculi! Not enough material!" Alex closed the book he was reading on magic automatons. He picked up a turkey leg and bit into it. "Just gonna have to wait till the spell matrix I do have finishes."
As the students checked on the others, a Prefect made it over. The children spun a tall tale stating Alex attacked unprovoked. With all their word against his, it was easy for the Prefect to give a ruling.
"1st year, with me." The Prefect ordered. Alex ignored him as he thought about a manga he read a while back. "Didn't you hear me?!" The Prefect was annoyed.
'I mean the wizards' tech suck but combining magic and a few computers, maybe I can make something like a netnavi to help assit me further?' Alex started linking what he would need to do so. 'I need to go back to the library tomorrow. The clockwork golems are not bad but...'
"I said get up!" The Prefect grabbed Alex by the arm. The scarf whipped out smacking him in the face. The pressure he applied to grabbing Alex was returned doubled. "Ahhh!"
.
Headmaster's office-
.
"Why am I here again?" Alex asked. Generally confused. Christian had sent him a message that got his attention. Stating he needed to head to the Headmaster's office. "I mean, it is late and all."
"You injured several students today." McGonagall said. Alex arched an eyebrow trying to remember. He didn't have the foggiest idea.
"I did not attack anyone. Well, not today." Alex shrugged.
"It is not good to lie young Alex."
"OK. So you and Dumbeldore should really stop doing it. I did not attack anyone." Alex was adamant that he didn't. "I should be able to address my accusers should I not? Or is this like Durmstring now?"
"Bring them in." McGonagall said to the side. Hagrid carried two 2nd years in bandages. A young girl in a wheelchair pushing forward. "These are just some of your victims."
"I did not attack these students." Alex rolled his eyes. "If I did they would be worse. What kind of idiot would put someone in a wheelchair at a school like this?" He was reaching into his sleeves looking for something.
"What are you looking for?" Dumbledore asked. He was intrigued by Alex's calm demeanor. As well as his continued admittance of no wrongdoing. 'Maybe it is just simple bullying?'
"Got it." Alex pulled out a blue potion. "Okay there cripple, here we go."
"I am not drinking that!" The girl yelped when he grabbed her foot. "Where are you touching?!"
"Who said anything about drinking?" Alex flung it onto her legs. Then her face. "That should fix your crooked nose."
"I do not have a... ahhhhh!" The student screamed in pain. In seconds it was over. "She hopped up taking a swing at Alex. "You creep!"
*Whack!* Alex scarf smacked her in the face. She plopped back into the wheelchair rubbing her stinging face.
"Evil scarf!" One of the students near Hagrid cursed. It was the 2nd year that got hit first and flung. "It has a mind of its own."
"Well yeah, it does. It's a protection charm. Responds to hostile intent." Alex flicked the potion drops at the other two. The same effect happening. Looking at Hagrid, he flicked some at his face and hands."
"Ouch!" Hagrid dropped the two students. "That is smarts. Oh!" Hagrid thrust a little. "My back doesn't hurt anymore. What a potion you have there. What it called?"
"Potion." Alex answered. He placed it back into his sleeve. "Pain in the butt to make but works like a .. what is it?"
"Why such a basic name?" McGonagall asked. She was looking over the students' conditions. Besides the girl having a welt on her face, she was fine. The hard breaks in her leg all the better now. "This does not excuse you for hurting other students."
"I did no such thing." Alex said slightly angry. "That is the name because that is what it is."
"Young Alex.." Dumbledore got up and walked across to him. Grabbing the scarf and feeling nothing bad happen. "Does the scarf care who it is that sends intent your way?"
"Nope. How would be able to do all that?" Alex's face scrunched up. "Only those who try to hurt me while I am studying."
"I see." Dumbledore let go and rubbed his beard. Looking at the students, namely the 2nd year he wanted clarification. "Did the scarf attack you or Alex?"
"It was the scarf. But it's his scarf!" The 2nd year cried. "I was just trying to get him to show a little respect."
"See, totally innocent." Alex huffed.
"That may be, but you still hurt several students." McGonagall said. "You will have a lighter punishment since you were not at fault." Alex stared at her glaring. Feeling the change slightly he looked away before he did something stupid. "Detention or an apology."
"Detention." Alex answered. He looked at the 2nd year with a smirk. "I hope you never need my help. For anything. I will definitely not help you." His voice was cold and caused the 2nd year to shake.
"Detention it is. Hagrid will supervise of course. I am sure he can find a just punishment." McGonagall never met such an angry student. "Back to your rooms while we discuss with your accusers."
"Really starting to hate this place again. Need to transfer to American. It might not be so bad there. Then again..." Alex mumbled as he left. Voice loud enough for people to hear that were close by. "..might get picked up by Dark Wizard and trained. The light really looks like shit compared to it actually. No wonder ole' Moldy butt is coming back."
After the students were dismissed, the two professors looked at each other.
"So.. a gifted student that cares about self-protection. Obeys the rules but walks a very thin line on some. What to do?" McGonagall plopped down in a chair exhausted. "Are you sure it is wise to watch him so closely?"
"With what happened to him and the other, a little more attention was expected. But.. strange things are happening as of late. A few troublemakers looking for things." Dumbledore moved to his desk pulling out an anonymous letter he received. "Some one suggested we look closely at our teachers. Saying they might be up to no good."
"Oh dear, the charms are difficult indeed. Defintely old. Are you going to find someone to break it?"
"I will this winter. Someone is trying to help us or.. grow dissension in the ranks." Dumbledore looked out the window. Off in the horizon, he thought things were going to get worse before good.
