Chapter 9: Premonitions... a bug in the room

"I guess so.." Alex agreed to Tatiana's request. He followed her to the classroom where Sybill was waiting. "Go ahead and do your spiel."

"No spiel Alex." He caught the woman was no longer talking nervous and seemed to be different in a way. Smiling ruefully, Sybill started. "You have the gift of Premonition. It comes in the forms of "Nightmares" for now. Soon it will come in the form of Waking Dreams."

"Waking dreams.... no just no!" The fist thing that came to Alex's mind was dementia and schizophrenia. Both ran in his family. Magic was one thing, but the pressure of everything could trigger something. 'Dammit! I should have asked more about the regen. It should heal my mind right!?'

"Alexander calm down." Sybill said with a soothing voice. "Do not worry. There are ways to make sure it does not happen. Ways to control it I mean. If you let me help you."

"Tch, Fine!" Alex agreed. Divination was something he usually ignored in anything he watched or read. "Stupid constant overcharging future. Bunch of bull and ull!" Grumbling, Alex just looked at the woman in anticipation. "You are up to something, I will be on my guard."

"I expect nothing else." Sybill said. "In class, I will act the way I usually do. Must keep them confused. People always are out for our kind." Alex nodded in understanding. "A gift to help you." She handed over a weathered book. "The language is a dead one, you will have to understand it first for everything else. It is the most difficult to learn."

"Hmm ok." Alex studied the binding for a moment. Seeing nothing weird, he placed the book into his sleeve for safe keeping. "What is it?"

"Why in your sleeve?" Magdalen asked. "Your knapsack should be more guarded."

"It is not. It can be stolen. To take it from me, one would have to steal my clothes." Alex said with a polite smile. "Unless they want to rip it off, not really happening. So... anything else?"

"I will let Professor Dumbledore know I was able to convince you to join as punishment. No doubt you will be able to act like the disgruntled student?" Sybill spoke quickly and changed her demeanor back to what it was beforehand.

"Yeah... see you whenever next or tomorrow?" Alex said looking around the room again. Sybill nodded, so he left. Magdalene followed with him. "Oh, here you go. The ghost I .. exiled. Should earn some help from whoever is in charge of straightening them out."

*Bwoop!* At the end of Alex's wand, a blue wavy light started to shine. In 30 seconds it formed into the ghost he defeated in the duel. The shocking thing, was that the ghost lost its ethereal glow. She looked human. Magdalene walked over and poked her. *Bwoop!* It rippled like water.

"Not solid. Not corporeal either." Sybill spoke from the side. "I will talk with her before letting return to her duties." Alex waved and left.

"What do you think?" Magdelene asked her mother.

"I think.. it will take time. But at least he spoke with us." Looking to the ghost she smiled. "Your kinsmen is very hostile. To think he did that to you."

"Yes, but I was quite antsy to test him. I should have known better. The blood of Slytherin flows strong it seems." Madame Clarissa said. She found her thoughts stronger and easier to hold on to. Even her memories from childhood. "He is a Ravenclaw still, sharp minded in a way that is dangerous. I was able to glimpse only pieces of his mind when he.. Captured me. I never experienced something like that before."

"Still think it is rude he did that to a fellow Ravenclaw. And a family member at that." Magdalen wrinkled her nose. "I think.. he is.. a jerk. We could win the house cup if he participated."

"Hehehe." Sybill chortled at her daughter. Times like this, she was happily reminded of her age. "Well, maybe you can convince him for next year?"

"Right. Oh!" Remembering she needed to do her homework, Magdalen got up to leave as well. "Bye!"

"Haa." Sybill sighed. "Always in a rush." Noticing Clarissa's expression, she just had to ask. "What is bothering you?"

"It is Alex. I think he has killed already..." Clarissa said with a frown. Both women started to seriously talk after that. Completely forgetting that the ghost was not much a ghost currently.

-Alex's room-

.

"Haaa!" Alex sighed leaning onto his bed. The language of the book was quite troubling. Putting it to the side, he wished for his phone back. It was too late to head to the library. The letters were too confusing. It's closer to hieroglyphics than anything.

Several spells were pulling the vastly different languages into his mind. The spell matrixes had to weave them together to turn into a "Comprehend Language" spell. "Roomate is completely gone now. How nice."

Somehow the boy had requested that Alex was too dangerous to room with. With his family pleading on his behalf, Alex was now the only one in his room. Well, besides a beetle he captured. With a spell to keep from moving around, the oddest sensation passed over as he tried to read its mind. With a flick of the wand, it turned into a woman. Good old Rita Skeeter.

"Ok. Finish." A spell finished in Alex's mind that he worked on since coming to the school. The spell matrix finally finished combining a few spells from video games and one from an anime he watched. "You are going to test this out for me. This is what you get for trespassing."

The beetle moved back and forth as much as it could. Just enough for the legs to twitch and the head to shake. Alex thought it looked like a shiver at first. But it would be weird.

"Xiàng wǒ zhǎnxiàn yǐncáng de xíngshì!" (Reveal to me the hidden form!) Alex said in Chinese. "This may hurt... like a lot." So many spells to practice.

*Woom! Woom! Woom!* Three powerful pulses of magic left Alex, so strong and draining, he fell on his but. The spell required way too much magic to perform. Especially short casted. Better to do the long chant next time. That was a lesson learned.

*Splurt!* The arms of the beetle turned to legs and arms. *Splurt!* The torso and head formed at the same time. *Crack!* Alex thought a bone broke, but it was just bones snapping into place again. *Splurt!* The remaining parts are finished. A woman in her mid 30s or 40s was in front of him now. Still bound of course.

"You un made me.. removed all the spells around me. All my stealth ruined!" Rita started to panic. A large amount of enemies could now locate her. A very bad ex came to mind. Very possessive and cruel at that "You have signed my death warrant!"

"Hmm, I signed the death warrant that you wrote yourself. Should not have reported so many.. stories ." Alex stood up and walked to her. Moving his wand, he spread her out eagle style. He watched as she floated scared. Her mouth closed and melded together for what was to come next. "They can not penetrate the charms of Hogwarts, myself, and another. What do you think I did, while I was sitting on my bed?"

His wand moved across her kneecap. Glowing with a spell long primed and at the ready. With a slight twist, an engraving went on Rita's flesh. Slowly, Alex kneaded it into her bones. Rita pulled against the invisible restraints. With a thought, Alex tightened his hold on her.

*Schlick!* With a pull of the wand, he moved down her thigh. Creating a trail of blood. The blood scattered and wrapped the back of her thigh in a pattern. *Chish!* The blood burned her skin and left another charm before healing over.

*Sniff, sniff!* Alex took a few sniffs and looked down under the floating Rita.

"Very painful indeed." She soiled and shit herself from the pain. "We are just beginning I am afraid." Moving to her left side, he stabbed into her with his hand. Wand floating directly over his insertion. "Maybe this will hurt less?"

"Mmmmhmm!" Rita screamed. Her eyes rolled over as she fainted.

"What a good threshold for pain you have. A reward is in order." Alex untethered his restraints on his magic, fueling his body to increase the charms that he needed to place. "Disguise, Regen, Protect, Shell, Anti-scrying, and an Alert spell. Perfect for a spy." He mumbled to himself.

Flesh moved and reshaped at his next set of work. Placing a mental spell after a spell took a lot of effort. Despite her current state, Rita proved to be quite strong willed.

As he worked into the late night, Rita finally woke up around 3:45. Her eyes went wide at the markings all over her body. As well as her facial features and body changes. You looked to be close to an Amazon in height and stature. Dark black hair, tanned skin, and an athletic body to finish it off. She was off put by her breast reduction.

"You are awake. Do not worry, you can turn back to the way you look with a thought. This is what I need you to look like for my work." Alex smiled at her. "I surprised at your eye though. Those did not change, a very beautiful green." With a flick of his wand, a pair of robes wrapped around her. Charmed with more protection spells as well as a special Locater spell.

"What makes you think I will do work for you?" Rita asked. She felt amazing as she moved her hands on the new body. Her face however was stuck on a frown with a look of hatred at Alex. With a thought from a spell she had never known there before, she returned to her previous self. "What amazing magic."

"Several reasons. One you do not want to lose what I just gave you, two you definitely do not want people to know you are an illegal animagus. As for three.." Alex pointed at himself. "..I can give you information on what is going on in Hogwarts. A chance for you to have a respectable career as a journalist. You need friends, I need someone to sneak into places. Seems like a fair deal to me."

"You expect me to forget about the torture. About me.." Rita couldn't finish, as she thought about the fact she soiled herself. 'His eyes look so dangerous. Surely he would not kill me. Would he?' That and the way Alex was poised and unconcerned if she disagreed, made her decide to tread carefully.. "Your information better be good."

"Of course." Alex passed her a sheet of paper containing information from the past he knew about. Stuff from Fantastic Beasts, as well as what happened to Potter's parents exactly. "Peter Pettigrew is something to look into yes?"

"Yes... yes.. he is." Rita eyes turned wide at the info. "Such dangerous information. You have more I take it?" Alex gave her a nod. Rita's nostrils flared. This made Alex lift a brow in wonder. "You have a deal then. But I have not forgotten how you treated me." Alex shrugged and watched as Rita disappeared. Turning back into a beetle and making her way out of the room and off the castle grounds he imagined.

"Ahhh hopefully those spells work as I need them." Alex felt his watch vibrate alerting him about the time. "Time for breakfast." Uncorking a stamina potion, he nursed as he walked. He took two steps before he cast a clean spell. "Ahhh much better." Heading to the hall he bumped into another student. "Whoops my bad."

"Oof!" The student wiped herself off and took Alex outstretched hand to get up. "No problem. I was looking for you. What can you tell me about your friend Christian?" She asked hiding a little roseyness in her cheeks.

"Walk and talk. I am hungry." The two headed to the dining hall at a steady pace. Alex just answered questions she asked instead of telling her any fine details about Christian.

Both he and Christian already came up with a way to deal with adolescent probing. Tell them actual likes that they had as kids. Made it much easier and elude any truth spells.

.

-Dining Hall-

.

"It is a Rememball!" A student said. Neville held the glass ball and looked at it. In seconds it turned foggy.

"I can't seem to remember what I forgotten?" Neville questioned.

"Homework." Alex said. As he was passing by, he smelt a weird order. "Or maybe you forgot to clean your robes." Neville gave his clothes a sniff and then shrugged. Alex spotted Draco and surprisingly Adam nearby. "Yoh peeps, what's up?"

"Excuse me." Adam said sheepishly. He got up and shuffled away.

"Was it something I said?" Alex plopped down and started eating. Not to far away, Titania sat two people away from Christian at another table. "Draco?"

"Oh, yes. I mean no." Draco said slightly muddle-headed. The color was drained from his face slightly. "You did not say anything strange."

"So what's on your mind?" Alex ate some bacon off his plate as he waited for the boy to speak.

"Well.. my dad wanted to know if you are going home for the holidays. I mean to your guardians place? I know it is early but..." Draco didn't want to ask. He didn't want Alex to get any bad ideas about him.

"Was not planning on it. Planned on staying on the grounds and practicing magic. Then again I could do that in other places. I can pass though to your place. As long as they are ok with a rude American." Alex kept eating thinking about the chances to look at other books.

"Shouldn't be a problem." Draco smiled. Crab and Goyle finished eating and started to read a book. Shocked the hell out of Alex.
